hey T and Doc, thanks for the posts! been a couple weeks and have some nice updates. that skunk haze was one of the strongest bowls i've ever smoked, even being so early... wild shit. next batch after this will have some day 70 so can't wait to see those nugs

here are some shots of my upcoming harvest. have 4 Viper x Trainwrecks and 1 Bubba Kush x Deep Chunk, all at day 49. gettin closer.

and the round after that, gotta be about week 4 or 5. i didn't write the date down but i'll check back on my thread and see if i can determine when these got flipped. going to be a nice run. about 10-15 plants total, different amounts of Viper x TW, Bubba Kush x DC, Cherry Haze, and Skunk Haze. can't wait. after that comes the next batch. just took clones yesterday. anyway, here are the girls

T: i think of you every day man... every time i go to chop em down, i hear "what would tonitah do?" in the back of my head and it kills me. lol ok, here is what's going on regarding day 70:

background for all you peeps that are just tuning in: Tonitah has been my online homie since i got my medical card in 2007 and started posting on icmag. for pretty much every grow, he has had enough patience to try and ease me in the direction of letting the girls hit day 70 while having good tact and not trying to force it on me. well, he and every other bomb-ass grower on this site worth their salt say to go to day 70. lol but for the life of me, i think only one fooking plant under my tenure has ever made it to a full day 70. something ALWAYS comes up. i get bananas, i have some financial problems and have to chop for quick cash, my stash runs out, etc. Something always keeps me from reaching day 70. ok, maybe my lack of patience has something to do with i toot.

anyway, this run i'm determined to make day 70. everything has been great and on point so far, but yesterday i saw bananas on three of the viper x trainwrecks. only one nanner each, and we are on day 58. now, i had my first few runs last winter seeded because i was starting with seeds and didn't get the herms pulled in time. i don't want to make the same mistake again ever. at the same time, i am in the need of cash.

so, of course, i chopped one of the plants last night. but i didn't chop them all... which leads me to my question (finally). what do you think i should do? pluck the nanners and let em go another 12 days, risking seeding the crop on deck, or say fuck it 58 days is close enough and chop to make sure they don't further herm? FYI the Bubba Kush x Deep Chunk is completely nanner free so she isn't at issue here (knock on wood)

Dr. Dog: hiya doc, hope all is well on your end -- i know you are killin it as always. lol and yeah i love that BK x DC.. looking great. first real run of her with decent veg cycle. before i basically flipped a couple clones. was blown away. can't wait to see her harvest.

reaL: howdy friend, much obliged for the compliment -- i have a very kind friend who shares his stock with me for nothing in return. i am trying to save up a nice jar of nuggage for next time i see him. the viper x trainwreck is from a breeding run he did using Reeferman seeds. Had a killer trainwreck male and seeded some Viper, Cherry Haze, Willijuana, Grapefruit.. few others. all of them were bomb. the cherry haze i'm growin now may even be a trainwreck cross too, it came from him. damn lucky to have good friends.

It will take weeks for something that resembles a seed to form.
I think that would only be a motive for premature chopping
if nanners start apearing everyday, every time more and more...
You will make it man!! hehe
70 days why? why not 74 or 68?
You should monitor your plants, not follow schedules.
If you know its a ~70 day plant, now its an execelent time to
start giving them less light to speed up maturation.
Dont you sometimes freak out with immature racy smoke?? hehe
They look too well fertilized for the time, that doenst tend to speed
things up and taste and smell, all that green its gonna be there.
They look great, some patience and a nice flush and your heading
for a great harvest. All the best!!

perfectly put, my friend. and perfectly understood, if you can believe it lol, on this end. it's like doing yoga, meditating, reading more, eating less, and everything else you know is for the best -- knowing it is one thing, but putting it into practice is the next step. i have no doubt what i need to do, but like i said sometimes life comes up. if i'm looking at chopping a week early or taking a bunch of hits on late payment fees, simple math says i gotta chop. of course now i'm wondering if i fully realize how much weight i am losing but cutting a week or two early... maybe my math has not been so simple.

Frank, thanks much for the tips and you are absolutely right on all of it. the whole day 70 thing is more like an inside thing with Tonitah... i liked your "why not day 74, or day 68?" though i think there is some value in having a generic benchmark, your point is spot on -- each strain is different, each run of each strain is slightly different, and hell even each strain varies from plant to plant depending on how long it was veg'd, what type of nutes and strength, etc. here, here. and good call on the high nutrients -- just added some guano. gotta tell you, though, the good thing with feeding organic is even if you don't rinse two weeks out and run plain water, the flavor is still decent. and i may have only been growing for a few years, but i lived in holland for four months, and in the past had a medical card in both california and colorado... i'm not an expert but i've smoked enough decent herb to at least make that statement with confidence. oh and the worry about the bananas isn't because of these five plants almost done, it's because i have another run coming along a few weeks behind in the same room. also the reason i can't start walking the time back.

can't say thanks enough to both you guys -- always appreciate the feedback. watch for finishing pics of the bubba x deep chunk. so gorgeous i could cry.

pretty weak pics for a pretty bomb harvest lol looking like i'll pull a qp or close. should keep me satisfied for a while. hoping to have a full zip of the bubba. looks pretty beautiful. the viper x trainwreck is verrry heady. i'm running around town way later than i usually feel like being out of the house, and its all from smoking multiple bowls of the viper. great stuff and a huge producer. gotta keep an eye and make sure herms don't get to be a problem, but hopefully that will be fine.


my clones are killin it, as always. lol seriously, the cheapest, easiest to set up, lowest maintenance, most reliable cloner ever. has it been a week or two, at most?
