Funny how it is the ones hurling the most stones my way are the ones making the profit.

Interesting ...

Only those without sin,, can cast the first stone! So at FRT we throw out boulders! :D

At FRT we are proud of the fact that we don't douche the buyer/customer,, or con the supplier,, on feedback n facts we get on genetics. ALL that is on offer at FRT is clearly labeled , with dates and names,, so folks out there with confidence in our lines are fully aware of the products and pitfalls they are buying into... just as we'd expect as growers ourselves... way before anyone parts with cash.

At FRT the ganja seeds are only a fraction of what's happening here,, so the veggie seeds we maintain help us keep focus over the ganja seeds,, and visa versa,, in that frame. Dont like organic seeds,, then please look elsewhere for genetics! FRT offer no promises,, but feedback so far is 100% positive,, and the genetics are more than credible and affordable on the open market! sein :D

One love all

p.s no stress on the cali cats (ask about in chatroom,, good buddies out there) ,, but you folks need to raise the standard / game UP (again),, Rainbow Kush and Green Knot Kush are about to drop these sides,, what ya got???

When we look out your way for inspiration we need feeding (like hungry bulldogs)... just like we did on the 'clone culture' yo folks propagated so well to us,, so pls get active /on it ppl ,, we love it!

For all the dillusionaly dogs (player-haters) out there,, please stop pointing fingers at stuff you are NOT doing ,, it just dont wash these ends,, simple! "You cant con a con" as we say ! Full stop,, the underground scene is happening UK sides just now folks,, face up to it or die trying,, (we'll post you links if you need confirmation).

(no disrespect,, to ANY,, we love it all,, just look at the above as pointers..) :canabis:

If you're doing it,, then stand proud to it already!!! (Yeah mon/gal..! really we f-ing love ya and that flex!)

N.B

most packs are labled with date now,, just like any normal seed pack,, we guesstimate 2-3 years viability,, after which germination rates start to decline,, so sow em NOW!! :D

Seeds are illegal...Illegal things cost more. Also people are willing to pay the high prices. I really think, as I/Gypsy said earlier, that it comes down to the seller having no control over you getting more free product later via clones/more seeds. He also doesn't have control over you gifting, or even worse, selling his genetics to others.

The ability to clone/make more seeds should have zero impact on the end price. Look at legal seeds, $1 pack same thing applies... Besides seeds are a "side" business, unless these seed makers are flushing the kilos of weed they are growing to get the seeds down the toilet...

Come on Gypsy, keep it real. You are first and foremost a business man. You wouldn't be doing this if it didn't make you money. Period.

As far as I know most people are business men or women whether we sell shoes or orange juice futures on the stock market.....we have to be in this capitalista's world to be able to pay the bills, feed, clothe and house our kids, send them to school and pay for them to be healed if they get sick e.t.c.....

Before I did this I was still involved in this industry as a grower, smuggler and trader ....and I have been involved with cannabis for two thirds of my life in one way or another.....so have many on this site and others...

Yes.....and this is a HUGE industry that benefits many.....you yourself harpocrates most probably have benefited from it yourself.....either financially, medicinally or socially .....or perhaps all three?.....

Many of us have taken the risks over the years to be able to operate and many of us still do.....and we all have a place to come together here on the internet to discuss many topics pertaining to the industry that we choose to propagate.....right here on ICM.....enjoy....

....from me to you with love.....lol

Imho serious breeding is worth what we pay, multiple selections for the best Strains. But if everybody would be doing it like this, every strain we can buy would be great. And I've often paid too much for crap

well, got through the first few pages and then skipped to the end...heres some of my perspective:

1) thank you, op, for this thread. discussions like this are among the things sites like this should be used for. i wont dog a man for looking out for the cause of the 'common man' even if i dont necc agree...and spirited discussions are where change comes from!

2) thank you gypsy for coming on the thread, stating your side and not just deleting the thread like some mods on some sights would have done if it even slightly threatens thier biz...

3) look at this whole thing w a long term perspective: the server fund, for example, was what finally pushed me into actually getting off my ass to play w chucking pollen....seeds i have donated have made money to support a sight i have gotten so much enjoyment and benefit from....those seeds have sold, for the most part in the 30-70 dollar range (some went for over a hundred, kinda bummed me out, but peeps were happy w em) and most of the feedback ive gotten has been very happy. i have seen many, many brothers and sisters here make seeds specifically for the same reason....maybe some future commercial breeders will be able to look back at this fund as thier inspiration to become breeders

..well, im at work, distracted(damn job) and i seem to have forgotten a few other points...will come back when i remember the rest! haah

oops...i may have stepped on your dick a lil bit there bro...when i found out she was sending them in i sent in a p.m. asking these be listed as very low priced bins and not freebies! i like the idea of freebies, but, whether a popular opinion or not, i really like the idea of helping support the sight also. i dont think anyone will complain about 20-25 buck packs of those! haha

Deep breath, heavy sigh.

K, read form start on a subject I truly know nothing about. Breading for profit... herbal husbandry?

u2seek42, New Member, I could take your post seriously if you had a post count before starting this thread. Most everything you have 'contributed' has been to ridicule and taunt. I wonder why.

All other considerations aside, it take time and money to breed. 90% of what seeds are offered are in no way anything near a
'breed-line' or 'hybrid'. It simply takes to much time. :cathug:

My guess is that when I see a batch of seed sell for $1,000.00 USD it is because the bidder knows the breeder. Most seed sent out is hobby seed, no matter how much money is spent in the pack, nor how much time and money the 'breeder' has spent on the growing the seed.

This is in no-way a dis to 'breeders'.

I can only look at the scientific view of breeds and breeding. Just look at Wiki:
A dog breed is a group of dogs that have very similar or nearly identical characteristics of appearance or behavior or, usually, both, primarily because they come from a select set of ancestors who had the same characteristics. Dogs have been selectively bred for specific characteristics for thousands of years. Initially the selections would have centered on domestication and useful behavior such as hunting ability. Later, dogs were also selected for attractive and distinctive forms, resulting in a vast variety of types.

Ya know, gramma could have been chucking seeds out the back bedroom window for the last sixty-five years. That does not make her 'weed-patch' a Ibl or Hybrid line. But, conversely, Drunk Uncle Bob could have spent every waking moment documenting, crossing, documenting and crossing for the last sixty-five years too.

So, who has the best weed? Is that not the bottom line?

I am thankful I got my first beans in the mail form Mark Emery back in 1999. I am grateful I got my newest batch of seed in the mail a few weeks ago from Gypsy.:thank you:

Can I do some kind of evil-mad-scientist and come up with my own killer strain? I can claim so. Just with what I have in my house, right now, I could cross and bread, cross and bread for the next few years and still not have a true breading 'stable' line... but that doesn't mean I wouldn't sell them as "Supper Jiffy Quick PB& J".
Who is going to buy them? The ignorant, the gullible and the few people that know me, have seen the plants and smoked the herb... and LIKED it.

Bottom line for me is: I can not be a breeder with out documentation: notes, records and and results, REPRODUCIBLE results.
REPRODUCIBLE.

Like Gypsy says "it can all start with a seed" :tiphat:

I've been breeding for years, and what most people don't take into account -> The Risk.
Having sets of 40 or 50 plants going at one time, in several rooms, equals manditory federal time, if caught. But it's the only way to isolate quality breeding stock.
I agree no pack of beans should cost more than $ 100. But to say, anything more than $ 20 is too much, is ridiculous. I grow out hundreds of plants, to choose three or four parents. Then work them down to a set. Electricity, fertilizer and growing mediums aren't free. I've also given away more than I've sold over the years, but I have bills just like you. I would not expect anyone to work for free, in any line of work. I do support reasonable prices, as you will see here in the near future on seedbay.
Let me close by saying, Tell those guys at GM to stop paying workers $ 28 an hour to tighten some bolts, and maybe I will be able to afford a new car next year.

Let me see if I understand this thread...

I'll borrow from SmokeTrain's analogy.

You want to pay for a Yugo but want it to perform like a BMW because they're both made from steel and some plastic so there should be no difference...

Were you dropped on your head as a child?

This is the logical inference I gather from this proposition, although I commend the other community members for pointing out the flaw in the OP's observation in a far more diplomatic fashion than I can seem to muster at present.

Perhaps I'm being a bit unkind and the poster is truly unaware of the dark arcane science of this thing called economics.
If this is the case then I would suggest some remedial reading would be in order to save me a long and probably useless exposition of price/value mechanisms that order the marketplace.

Or as Uncle Louie would say, "Ya get nuttin fa nuttin".

I havent bothered to read thru this thread. But personally I dont see anything wrong with the current prices for real good genetics. The breeder takes lots of time and huge legal risks to develope good strains. And also people keep mothers for years and years.I would feel different if marijuana couldnt be cloned, and breeders only sold fem seeds.Causing growers to have to buy seeds for each and every grow. But this is not the case.We buy the seeds, choose a keeper mother, grow the strain, harvest after harvest. But everyone has there opinion. My opinion only apply to real breeders like Dutchgrown,Chimera,Karma,Rez and all the other good breeders who spend lots of time creating wonderful strains for the world to enjoy. So thanks for all your hard work and top notch smoke.Yall are very appreciated.Where would we be without them?Smoking some shit tasting scwagg.UGH!!!
