hey tatz

Marijuanasaur - tbh it's too early to tell whether certain strains react better to LED than others, with the blueberry the first thing to bear in mind is that it goes 10-12 weeks and its only at week 7, also i sprayed it with neem a few weeks back which browned the hairs and may have given it a bit of a check - and the mites themselves also wouldnt help. below is a pic of it at around 6 weeks in my best ever Bb grow and it may look a bit better but you can also see it looked nothing like as good it looked at 10 weeks in the same grow. also i havent quite settled on the best fert levels for the Bb - im still experimenting and may have given it a little more N than it needs this time round. the next 3 weeks will be interesting to see how the plants finish up.
Blueberry HPS 6 weeks

crudvapors - the plants are about 6 inches above the screens on average- its always playing with fire a little to let them grow much above the screen as it's a fine line between that and out of control. but it gives a good yield if you get it right.

been baking hot the last 2 days and ive been away camping so i hope that everything is ok when i can get up to check later

cheers

yeah the Bb looks different each time i run it - perhaps it's foxtailing a little less this time.

SirSmokalot - :tiphat: thanks for stopping by - the LED's seem to be doing well, i think the dry weights on the Power Plant and the NL will be the most definitive comparison for this round, so watch this space - they definitely produce nice aromatic buds - more like CMH or hortilux than a straight HPS lamp. been lurking on your dialling it in thread - you got it going on in there already ;)

---

so i chopped the lemon thai today after looking at the trics and seeing mostly cloudy with plenty amber in parts. also had the DC desparate to go in and was happy to quit whilst i was ahead given the mites which could have been a lot more of a problem i guess.
interestingly the smell reminded me of a Flo plant that i grew a while back - kind of sweet hashy. the other thing that reminded me of the flo was a male flower growing out the top of one of the buds - only one though. i only grew one Flo plant from DP fem seed and wasnt that impressed with it tbh.
some pics - looks like a decent enough harvest.
top view - 60 days

and the Deep Chunk that ive been vegging went in as a replacement straight away. no idea how successful scrogging a hashplant is going to be but there is only one way to find out :D

as always from you a wonderful grow , you really squeeze everything you got out of the lights and plants(yield wise)

next run in september i'll buy those garden wires and do my first scrog

Freaky bleached blobs on the Lemon Thai.

But looks like a nice haul, yieldwise.....let us know how she smokes....psychedelic y/n...more NLish?

How's the heat panning out?

Frosty Buds - thanks, yeah nice ladies - and my wife's hot too :dance013:

THC123 - good to see you! - you'l find the scrog a breeze mate - much easier to do in practice than explain really, but i do my best.

blimey! :tiphat: - yeah a few buds with the tops light bleached - i find it quite exciting in a way because it shows these things throw out the light - they've never been closer than 6". interestingly the Blueberry is the only other one that has it - just a tiny bit. the PP and NL are closer and have none - maybe thai genetics are susceptable.
tell you what though - i reckon those bleached bits will be one smooth smoke...

heat, yeah cor blimey what a scorcher! - been up to 85 in the cab against 90+ in the loft (luckily i duct air up from the house into the cabs) sheesh though i was working outside all day yesterday doing pretty heavy work - flaked me out

--- Hey Verdant, are you saying the LEDs produce aromatic smoke like a CMH? If so, that is reason enough for me to use them. Actually if the high is comparable to CMH I am happy. I am growing with these lights and they are working fine, but I was feeling sorry I had not known about CMH and the great spectrum before investing into this.

hi yesum, i only used my CMH for a couple of runs but yes i would say the LED buds, so far, are more comparable aroma wise to CMH. having said that i wasnt convinced totally about bud density with the CMH, some strains were better than others and others seemed a little leafy. LED bud density may well be better and as a stand alone light i imagine that the LED might win. most people seem to use CMH as a supplemental light for HPS rather than on it's own.

should have a full picture update tomorrow

hi all, here is the picture update...

first off powerplant - i must say that this plant looks to me as good as anything i have grown in this cab - not the biggest buds but there are more top colas on this screen than some previous plants. i'll be surprised if this does turn out to be a respectable yield.
at just under 7 weeks.

next up the Northern lights at around 6 weeks - looking good

and the Blueberry at 8 weeks - improving slowly but surely.

the DC has only been in for 2 days but looks a bit better.

Damn VG, everythings is lookin super nice! super interested to see how the dc turns out under the scrog. So you are basically just gonna run a perpetual and keep flippin plants as they finish? Cant wait to hear back from you on the LT smoke in a few weeks, and that pp is lookin mighty nice as well!

Looking great VG m8 i got some light bleach on my Jack Herer she stretched more than i thought about 2-3 inches from the LED 3 of the main colas have yellow tips,,I think next time ill train them underneath the screen like you have and maybe turn back earlier...

Capt.Cheeze1- thanks for stopping by

LoKey - yes it will be interesting to see the yields of each strain

WizeWizo - yes, usually i run this cab as a perpetual to keep the efficiency high, but tbh i need to make sure that ive solved the mite problem so we will see how we go. ive kind of held back on starting too many seeds/cuts for that reason. have a few things in the pipeline though ;) the DC had to go in as it was more than ready... thats a pretty quick one anyway and i can spray it for the first couple of weeks whilst other plants are harvested.

LEDGirl :tiphat: - the mites are under control but not eradicated. yet. basically i find the best way to stay mite free in organics is to spray neem as a preventative and perhaps a couple of other things to rotate so as there is no resistance - i stopped that because i tried the predator mites that turned out to be a disappointment. i know you will shake your head and wonder why i dont use floramite :D but i went to look at the label and it says you shouldnt even handle your plants without gloves for 2 weeks after use!!! there is no way im putting something like that on my plants. having said that the mites will have had an effect on the final figures and i do want to be rid of them for the next run.

BENJI - hi mate, getting any sleep?:D - yeah the light bleaching seems to be strain dependent, i'm learning to keep a close eye on the tops and lower the height of a plant if i spot it. good thing about the modular scrog is that each individual height can be adjusted

i'll leave you with a nice pic of a powerplant nug - small prize for the first person to spot the dead gnat ;)

Plants are looking great VG. I'm really considering building a screen to try scrog under cfls and/or the led.

Here's my gnat guess ;)

hey whats up VG....my guess for the gnat is below blynx guess to the left side on the very top fan leaf...i dunno how to circle it though lol. Its a little more than half way up in the pic on the left hand side to be exact facing downward ;) Btw that PP is lookin nice and frosty!

Ok so i figured out how to make my guess more clear lol...here is a pic
