That was absolutely retarded and I should have known better than to get sucked into a major-network TV show! Now I remember why I left popular American culture behind in order to grow plants. . .

i was trying not to expect to much from the end, but man it was worse then i thought.

Battlestar Galactica had a waaaaay better ending to their show.

i never really followed the series but there was sooo much shit going on in the series it was really obvious to me they would never be able to explain and clear it all up in the end in a way thats not totally retarded. and i only watched a couple of episodes. i feel sorry for the guys who spent alot of time on the show and are now disappointed.

don't want to rehash some of the interpretations
but you had to expect something less than a clear final explanation
but the writer's comments that they had a clear idea of the ending at the series start makes sense to me now
right at the 1st episode(or near), you saw the Jack's father empty coffin
which is how it ends(nearly), with an empty coffin(and dad back from the dead)

They all came from messed up lives before(like Jacob said)
If it ends with everyone happy, and with who they want to be with, corny, but I'd be OK with it.

I think that's whats going to happen.

They were all "lost" before the island
Hey, I was right^^^^^
I can't complain too much, I really enjoyed the series, and with all the plot re-writes you can't expect everything to be neatly tied together in the end.

Like Ben's character, I found out last night that he was only supposed to be on the show for three episodes, so they were pretty much making this up as they went along after the first season.

I give it 4.5 stars out of a possible 5

One thing I noticed this past week.
When you explain Lost to someone who has never seen an episode...

If you listen closelyto your words,
explaining Lost out loud sounds... for lack of a better word.. insane.

I was explaining the whole Desmond pushing the button thing to a coworker the other day,
to those not used to the world of Lost, It sounds insane.

but I love it!

I didn't know they were going to do that two hour series review first, I got high as the bejesus and sat down to watch what I thought was the final episode and I got 2 hours of recap instead, big time buzzkill

Same here. I ground up a big nug, pulled a bunch of thick, dark tubes & sat down with a huge glass of lemonade only to see a recap come on!

the ending was alright. everyone was happy and back together that all that counts for me :)

i still have a bazillion unanswered question though that will keep me entertained for years to come.

The island wasn't purgatory or whatever. It was all real. The alt-reality was really the afterlife which has no sense of time. So no matter what, since everyone eventually dies, they're all there. Hurley still becomes the protector and all the other characters that fly away live the rest of their lives ie. Richard saying "I think I want to live now..." Also, didn't Hurley say "You were a great No. 2" to Ben in the afterlife?

It made perfect sense to me and wrapped up really well. The final scene with Jack in the lying in the bamboo was really sad, but it was also a happy ending too.

it was a great ending really liked that. Remember the first episode started like that? Jack laying on the ground looking up into the sky ... ended like it started.

They all died on the plane.

FLASH BACKS= what life wouldve been like had the plane NOT crashed. Jack drunk ect.

FLASH FORWARDS= What they WANTED there life to be like. Jack with child, happy.

FLASH SIDEWAYS= Jack fixing himself to accept his life in death. With the help of other people on the plane that died also.

They all died at different times on the plane but still locked onto one another due to the circumstances of their death. They all had to "wait" and help the last "soul" accept death before thy were all able to move forward together in the end.

The same principle as they all had to be together to leave the island.

My thoughts about it. Awesome ending IMO!!

Pretty anti climatic showdown with the smoke monster though.
All this talk of him ending the world and he goes down like a third grade girl in a playground fight, WTF?
Why didn't he turn into the smoke monster when he was falling down the cliff????
All this time and all it took to kill the candyass was pushing him off one little cliff????

they snuck that in there pretty quietly
after the 'light' was turned off, smoke monster became ordinary human
after Jack popped him and he bled, Jack said something to that effect

Hal

Hal, if you noticed, the stained glass window in the church reception area was clad with all forms of religion. There was no specific "christian" flavor put on the church.

I did not notice that, but now that you mention it, I do recall seeing what you describe.

Right, I remember now.
Still, I didn't think he'd go out that easy.

WWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTTT

That and they didn't sing "you are everybody" enough.

I got a little misty at the reunions when they remembered stuff.

What the hell are we going to talk about now?
Breaking Bad still has 3 episodes left.
I think Mad Men starts it's new season soon, both shows kick enormous ass
