amrad you MUST be related to that whining ass. What is wrong with peeps charging what they feel is right.Dont buy the seeds dont even look at em cuz damn yer sensitive. clone the plants and stop your fucking bitching you can make way more than what you paid for your seeds you dont need to spend near that $1100 on a pack either. GREED fuck growing herb aint legal you jackass you and the thread starter sound like the greedy ones lol

Okay then young fella, at least you pulled your head out of your arse. Thats a good sign.
Now walk away from the twinkies, drop that bag of chips your munching on, and you'l be on the road to recovery before you know it.
I'm not really whining about a thing, I think that seeds are overpriced is all. And yes I agree, you dont have to buy them, and I havent in years. And as for Emery, dont beleive all the negative hype you read on the pot sites, remember seed sellars are business men competing for your dollar. They love to make each other look bad. I never said he wasnt as guilty as the rest for selling bogus seeds, shit they'v all done that, seeds that dont germ, or slapping a hot strain name on them, when in fact they'r generic shit. And the list goes on ad nausium.
And as for making way more than what I pay for seeds. I dont deal, I grow and give to family and friends. And no growing herb aint legal. Okay? can I go back to my book now?

Seed prices are what they are. People's lives get put on hold to find that next super strain you are searching. Time and money, lot's of which goes into the seed packs you are buying. If you put in years of breeding and have a family to feed, you put your price on your seeds. the answer is simple what is your time worth as a breeder? and again as a grower what is your time worth? what I mean by that is you can find a great keeper in a budget seed pack, but the chances of finding a truly great keeper worth passing on and preserving are better when you go with quality. "You get what you pay for" applies here and as other facets of daily life has exceptions for a good deal every once in a while. There are always people chucking pollen to reproduce already great genetics, I am sure if you look in the right places you can hook up with those people.

Let me see, they grow weed where it is legal.
They then get to sell the weed.
Then they get to charge 10 11 12 bucks a seed.

A buck or 2 should be more than enough, for these growers.

Let weed be legalized and they will be out on their azz, and it will serve them right.

As an old school Hippie, I am truly disappointed by my fellow heads.

Personally, I think that it's not a bad deal. We live in a world of business.. and if a business has a product that has demand and people are willing to pay for it, that business person has the choice to maximize his profit and charge what the market will bare. I thought the same at first, but when I saw the product that one gets out of a 10 or even 20 dollar bean, after putting in some effort and time, is well worth it. This is not to say that a 30 dollar bean (yes, I've spent that) is necessarily better than a 10 or 5 dollar bean is. As a matter of fact, the most expensive seed I've ever bought turned out to be absolute garbage. I've found it most beneficial to peruse the various grow reports on this site to determine what I might be interested in. If you want a 'bargain' in seeds, I highly recommend CH9 products. Great genes for a fair price. I guess it comes down to, if you want cheap seeds, grow your bag seeds from street bunk or pay the premium and get some quality beans, start a mother or 2 and watch what that 10 or 20 dollar bean can produce over a year.. You'll quit complaining I bet..

fritillary seed collective stocks seeds from different breeders to seedbay. Some of these breeders ask for $100.00 ,, while others ask for $20.00 ,, while others may donate their genetics / seed packets for FREE.

Quality and quantity are usually as relative on price,, as is consumer demand.

While many breeders work with cannabis because they love the plant,, other breeders couldn't give a toss about the plant and just view seed making as a way of generating cash. As consumers it is therefore of benefit to make rational decisions when buying seeds,, as one would if supplying them.

Other seed companies spend phenomenal amounts of money on advertising,, which needs to be recouped in sales,, on the price of a seed pack.

Quite simply if you dont like the advertised price,, then shop elsewhere,, just like one would a cheeseburger. Some burger bars food taste better than others... whats the difference between a $2 and a $20 cheeseburger,, after removing the decor and changing the seats? the waiter service? the tips? a clean restroom? They all serve milk n meat in a peice of bread!

Hope this helps

P.s. the last time we bought seeds was in 2003/4 ,, swapped for pay pal credits with a brethren,, only a $30-40 seed pack,, but still a complete waste of money and time! Once bitten twice shy,, we released the ppl about us had much better seed stocks sitting idle in the fridges,, and so,, FRT decided to do something about it!

I love when this gets thrown out there, like everbody is a dealer.

Has nothing to do with dealing at all - do the breakdown of a grow op setup + a pack of good beans. Breaks down to about 1200 for a professional setup with soiless medium and amendments. Now the average medical user can smoke from a gram a week to a half ounce. 15-200 dollars.

After 6 months (2 harvest) the medical user without insurance who regularly uses medicine has saved money to live their lives more fully then previously because their not spending much money anymore on medicine. They are spending like 30 a month on electricity and 100 for new soil and amendments each run.

Yea - unfortunately most these breeders who are doing limited releases and charging high prices are just pollen chuckers. Sharing clones of mothers and fathers and just throwing pollen and selling beans. Not much of a breeder in my opinion - but atleast some of them work on ibls and shit like that. Won't say any names but they know who they are.

all i see here is alot of seed breeders and commercial growers protecting their asse(t)s, seeds are justifiably expensive because they or the product they potentially produce is strangly illegal, end of story.

Hi headband 707,,

Thanks for keeping the dialogue civil (its an emotive subject)

FRT just sold x2 packs of seeds for $20.00 each pack (Spicy Cheese 5pack and Pacific Mix 10pack)... lines we've grown and smoked ourselves. Whoever bought them got a good deal at $2 or $4 a seed. The seeds in Pacifc Mix alone retail at upto ten times that figure normally!

My buddies buy expensive seed varieties all the time,, sometimes they are rubbish,, sometimes they are OK,, and it's the luck of the draw in that respect. That's why at FRT we never hype anything until its sold (out of stock). In the past 3 years trading we haven't had any complaints. (except one chatroom member that says their SSH F2 Freebies didnt germinate... when the other 10,000 + did globally .. lol) :D

While we dont buy seeds anymore,, we do still help test seed genetics for major Dutch seed banks. If their seeds are whack, then we tell them so. If it's good thing,, then we let the whole world know :D

We can only speak for ourselves and our own experiences... $500 a seed pack no thanks.. $100 for seed stock to clone off is ok.. $50 and below for a sow n grow job.. that's how we view things.

If in doubt do a ICMag search,, and see whose growing well with varieties from good breeders,, after a while you'll get a feeling over consensus of what's worth the cash.

Peace n flowers

P.s... 1oz in the UK is less than half the price of 1oz in the USA. So we have a slightly different perspective on what good seed genetics are worth. $150 (or 100 quid) is about the limit.

NEVER ENDING DRAMA if ppl keep paying the high dollars to the SAID breeders then the price will continue to stay high and even go higher..

do i think the seed BIZ is currupt ya just a bit but do not blame the breeders i blame the PPL paying those high dollar prices...

read a FN book and make your own gear and then and only then will the price of a bean make NO difference to you...

NEVER ENDING DRAMA..............

There will always be NEW growers looking for seeds. So long as breeders are aiming to do a good thing by them,, then there is no harm in that...

... when ppl start to take the piss,, we agree,, FREE the weed!

(hell we gave away x1000 more seeds than we ever sold!)

Ppl still look at us,, and think it's strange that we're broke!

We agree that a nice plant should smell nice in veg.

Much else however is subjective,, or subjunctive... what's nice for one person,, isn't always suited to the other person ,, especially where medi. users are concerned... and we prop them first at FRT... and the only credible 'medi. seedbank' out there is GrowDoc Seeds IMO,, cause GrowDoc does medi. helpful seeds at medi. helpful prices... $10.86 for a 5 pack of Angel Dust is about as cheap as it is ever gonna get!

So there are still some breeders out there doing a "good thing"... :canabis:

Other breeders are aware that their seed line can be F2'd or cloned in a few months ,,, retailed as "new" seedlines,, or alternatively sold to medi. clubs and on the clone market overseas at competitive prices... so its a question of take $ and then they'll make $ for many... and who could blame them?

For the 4hour high look at sativas,,, Pacific Mix gets folks wasted for the bucks...

Hope this helps

Emery made 3 mil a year from seed sales. Funny it is his wealth and greed that has his nuts in a grinder.
He could have charged 1/3 of what he did and still made a mil a year.
I know I know a mil is chump change but still..

Wonder if it was a competitor who fed him to the law?

http://www.times-herald.com/local/Warehouse-stored-2000-marijuana-plants-1136531

Now this is a grow!

Thank you to the person who said paraphrase, "You think we all deal"
Amen, it is the idea of paying far to much for seed, with the idea of ripping back off your weed customers, to cover being ripped off by the seed co.

Hell of a circle!

This is not the Hippie way.
