Lots of guys do bigger grows than me, and most dispensaries have a contracted grower that grows for thousands of patients. You think I drive a Ferrari or something? I don't get rich growing, hell I work a full time day job and drive a ten year old car (that I bought used.) Greed my ass.

You have no idea how small a fish you are, until you leave your little goldfish bowl. Something I've learned about growing, is that people bigger than you always have something to teach, if you're smart enough to learn.

Being you're on your very first grow, you might want to be careful with the groups of growers you choose to alienate.

8000 watt flower room, 600 watt veg room, then climate controls for even more wattage and i bet he is around 10,000 watts, not counting regular house stuff.

I don't hate on big grows, heck, my dream grow is a 32 plant stadium vertical grow. But with that i was going to use 4k watts, and now i am going to shift it down to 3k watts because you know what? Better safe than sorry. Thankfully i don't live in a city, and we never have ghetto birds flying in the air here.

But moar power to you bigger growers. It's people like you that give the great population buds! With that said,i just don't think 8600watt grows are smart for a residential home without expecting to be raided.

Sorry, yes I did. I've spent time on many a pot site to be chased off due to the commercial grower hate, and when I rarely saw it on IC I chose to make this my new home.

I understand what you're saying, but in most areas (except parts of Canada and Florida, and Oklahoma perhaps) a power bill isn't what starts the investigation, but what allows it to proceed. Power companies make lots of money off growers, so it's not in their best interest to rat them out.

In other words, if you don't screw up in another manner first, they won't get to that power bill part.

I also recommend not growing in the same spot for very long. In the event the cops are watching a place or got a tip, it would be best to have it all moved elsewhere by the time they have enough evidence to get a warrant.

So dont fall for that LED = reduced odor crap!!!!

If LED give off less waste heat then there is less need for air flow. This is the theory and I would like to know how that plays out in real life. Right now I use a 4" Fantech with a fan speed controller on low probably running 100-125 CFM. My 6" homemade carbon filter does an OK job but I've had to replace the carbon mid-grow. The grow space is 24"x"24"X48" high.

If LED allows me to switch to a low speed fan like a computer fan or two, then I gain in noise control and with less air moving through the carbon filter it should last longer. My existing setup keeps excellent temperature control because I'm growing in a cool basement. But there is a cost in terms of air flow and lack of stealth.

Let's do a thought experiment. If LED's gave off no heat, then no ventilation beyond the plant's respiration would be required. Opening the door once a day would probably exhaust enough oxygen and let CO2 in. Or CO2 could be supplied. But we all know that LED's do give off some heat. And we know that the amount of heat is less than an equivalent HPS light. The real question is is there enough reduction in waste heat to allow for significant reductions in ventilation. Your experience says no and that's fine. Any further discussion of the matter is probably better left to the LED forums.

2) any lawyer who tells you to steal power is a careless POS. such a comment can result in disbarment, and the client can waive Atty-client privilege at any time. No good lawyer would EVER EVER say that.

For those knowing a bit more about Electric Meters (and their capabilities) than the average user (incl. me) does...here a PDF file I have come across.

i actually went out pulled my "ITRON" out and took it apart to "see" how it ticks.
the basic itron is just a "METER" w/ a radio so the reader drives thru the hood and gets sigs from the meters they prob send sig out tothe meter that triggers the deal.
anyhow, the "advanced features" like usage/time graphic shit is an optional module if u look at how it's built u will see some long pins that have some room on them as to insert them through the optional module(s).
that tracking module costs money!! they wont spend it unless leo/or home owner requests the module/services.

i called the utility and said a service eelctrician had to pull it for some light task , asked me to call them for a "reseal"

not as paranoid now MOD is NOT installed!!!

Bro i wish u the best of luck, i got busted in florida about two years ago. Fuck HSCO but anyways i still continued growing.

Alot of people on here look towards yield first then the start worrying about security. I had a friend busted using 400watt veg light alone. The cops say they smelled his baby clones in veg and his power bill spiked. In Florida there is no knock and talk. There is a knock then they force there way into your house. Thanks PCSO. Next up from what i noticed is that if ur growing in an apartment please change your locks to your doors. Landlords and maintence people like to go in just because and look around to see what you have.

The cops are only as smart as the last person they busted so keep reading on here and Google to keep ahead of the trends. Thanks for the info on the power conditioner im gonna go pick up one of those asap.

Next up is security camera's with audio and motion detector sensors. yeah the combination of both is illegal in the state of Florida but also a life saver. I have a few friends that run hidden camera's outside and inside. just for the sole reason for cops.
When cops show u for simple things and they see the cameras they keep there distance and talk from the road very funny to see considering there normally all in your face.

I have a friend that is a cop and he says every bust they been on in chicago began from snitch state. Even if they go around and dont smell anything they will pay someone to even attempt to break in then they show show up a few mins later saying that they think a crime is a progress.

there is a lot of grimy stuff going on in the world today. U cant just relax and grow anymore. its a full time job as soon as u past that 1k mark

yeah it takes a while, i was able to order seeds, move to a new area and run 3 full runs before my first appearance in court. then i got tired of the bs and took a deal for a misdemeanor for drug paraphernalia, i would have beat the case but they try everything i was going to school and everything and it was just stressing me out. and i was to the point i didnt know if to resister for classes or not so i took the like 20th deal lol. it started from no jail time and 1 felony to jail time no felony, then probation then no probation no felonies and just a mis i was like cool ill take that one lol.

the law is fucked up im better of drinking and driving and hitting a bus stop with a shit load of people end up only getting probation

Rule #2) If your grow, Stay off of all sights like this. DON'T EVEN STOP BY. Its monitored
Rule #3) If you grow, do it yourself and keep it that way. If even one person knows then everyone knows. That includes (temporary) girlfriends/wife. And they are all temporary.
and it will come back to bite you on the ass.

hi,ya, after reading this thread from the start, i believe overgrow was grassed/snitched on and dont think doors getting kicked down cos of your electric usage[ as he said he used his lamps during the day] could be the only reason, in some parts of england. if police kick a door in and nobody is home, only to find what they would call a "small or amataur grow" they will take all equipement and plants and leave a note for the house owner/tenent to contact them about there cannabis etc as the potentiel penalty and the way overgrows home was invaded is outrageous, but truly believe he was informed on, nobody knows my grow and i dont know anybody elses grow, after reading this thread i will carry on as always,. good luck with your growing and remember "loose lips sink ships" regards and peace 944s2
