You can try. Haha awesome your still here after creating this thread. I remember talking to you a long time ago. you taught me a lesson about finding out what we have in common as humankind as opposed to pointing out differences. Thanks for the grape ape thread. I heard it has kinda a fruity sweet taste. Anyone care to elaborate?

a friend brought out a small bud of what he described as Grape Ape sent to him by a buddy on the west coast. i consider myself a heavy toker with a strong tolerance to thc. yet i was only able to handle 2 tokes from a glass pipe. it really rang my bell to the point that i felt like laying down. very, very potent smoke. the smell of the bud is intoxicating. but the flavor does not compare to the smell. not bad, not great. the best flavor came from the first hit, as with most strains.

the ride didn't last very long, short duration, as is the case with many kushy buds. and my buddy said he had built up a tolerance to it and didn't get as high from it as he did when he first got it.

i can see where this would be a great plant to have in the inventory. maybe toke on it once in a while, not every day. for those of you lucky enough to have access to this plant, congratulations. i know i'd like to have it but am not in the right circle to obtain it.

Bump . . . . . Happy Mothers Day especially to my Grape Ape Mother

Here are some pics of some Grape Ape, this run wasn't as purple as usual because of high temps in the upper 80's lower 90's at times but a better calyx to leaf ratio.

Vegging Gal about 5-7 days from going into flowering and her friend about to get chopped at 49 days Yes Sir!

People keep asking for it in seed form so in January 2011 I will send some beans in to seedbay.com of Grape Ape. Shoot I will also send in some Grand Daddy Purple and Purple Urkel. All "FREEBIES".

I was going to toss out all my purple mothers, Grape Ape, Grand Daddy Purple, Purple Urkel, Mendo Purps, THE Purps, but I will make beans of each strain first so that everyone can have these so called "ELITES" as 100% FREEBIES.

Only purple strain I need anymore is my Sugar Cane Kush.

Peace

reserva that would be most excellent, i personaly do not belive in ELITE cuts/strains it all ones opinion and what they like... ELITES====hard to get cut's and thats IT...

GDP will turn solid purple if you get it cold....there is no way you can tell GRape Ape, GDP and Urkle apart from color alone....anyone that has had these strains knows they are similar...quite similar.

Cold? I had temp issues and my GA and Urkles got almost black. Temp, lol. They're not that similar. GA is more like grape candy, Urkle is strait up grape skunk. It's like saying you can't tell the difference between Sour Diesel, OG Kush, and Headband....:moon:

I'll get right on that. Care for some full melt hash and 10x edibles? :joint::joint:

Sorry to get all worked up like that... I forgot to mention that I feel they're more closely related than the aforementioned group of relatives... Maybe a couple different pheno's from 1 batch of seeds rather than siblings crossed to another line(s).....:joint::joint:

I got a shitload of phenos from some nirvana ice i had sitting in the fridge for a long time that i just grew out recently im willing to bet that grape ape and nirvana ice are/share the exact same genetics.

Looking at all the pictures in this thread is like looking at twins!!

The purple ones that i have with the blackened leafs look like you could take them down at 45 days and they smell like grape soda flowers, the high is very happy and some of the phenos just put you in a state of stupidity literally !

I cant believe how exactly this grape ape resemble nirvana's Ice.

Take care

Grape Ape

First of all, I'm a long time lurker first time poster.

Back on topic of Grape Ape. Here's my grape ape various stages. I lost the pics of them in veg, but here they are...

These were Veg'd under a 400MH for 3 weeks from Clone and then flipped to 12/12 under a 1000HPS - Soil - Botanicare nutrients.

Most of the shots are with the HPS light on, so it makes the color look all yellow and blotchy.

The first shot below, are the real representative of their color, I took these at week 1 and 2 of 12/12 with the lights off and the flash right after the lights went out. The plants are not dark green like in veg, and are a bit light green which seems to be characteristic of the ape on the fan leaves while the bud leaves and fans are still green. They smell like a freshly opened jar of grape jelly. No doubt where they must have gotten their name.

They are growing and bulking up nicely. I'm feeding them a lot of nutrients and they are still now showing any signs of burn. These would do great in a hydro setup I would imagine. The next run of these I will do in hydro as this strain seems to love nutrients.

Week 1

Week 2

Here they are right now and in week 3

Just for comparison as to the flowering rate on these, here are my Maui Wowi's on the same exact schedule

And while I'm at it, here are my Jack Herer girls being LST'ed and veged out. Will keep them veging until the flower room is free of the apes. The jacks are under the 400MH, in soil, 7gal pots.

And here are the jacks starting week 3 (I'm hoping for monsters).

I have been after a cut of grape ape for many many years but have never found it. By far one of the best medical strains for my condition that I have ever come across. Just makes my back numb, and stay that way. I hope one day Oregon will reform its laws so someday I can pick this little beauty up.

Grape Ape Day 35 Flowering

Grape Ape Day 35 Flowering

Here are some shots of my apes on Day 35. Again I don't know what's up with my camera (Nikon D40x), but it's got all the colors funky. It makes the fan leaves look so yellow. Must be the HPS lighting, but I can't bring myself to go into the room with the lights off and start taking shots with the light off and flash. I know it probably won't hurt them at all, but I'm a bit compulsive.

Anyway enjoy the grapes.

Good lookin' fella, very good lookin' girls there...

It's nice that you are running lower nutes for them and they still look like they are continuously growing, and resin production....

Blessings, Props, Honor, Respect!:ying:
