Torrents may be free, but rumor is in the file-sharing community, this summer is going to be the summer of crackdowns!

I know Rapidshare recently won a case. Might be worth looking into their premium services if you're big on media and file sharing. I know I've made my year's membership well worth it. Nothing beats direct downloading at high speeds! Besides, you can usually find lots of rare stuff...I've found lots of stuff hosted on RS that I haven't been able to find on Demonoid.

Those sites search rapidshare, megaupload, 4share, and a couple of more...

www.rapid.org is a great resource for music and shows and videos and software too. More oganized, in forum layout. You don't have to be a member to search or view threads for links...

it is slow but i download 100's of files at once , this site has every thing nicely cataloged and virus free

I have one invite to What.cd - It is the best music torrent site on the net. Hands down, no competition. If anybody wants to PM me about it I'm willing to give it away, but you should really read up on the rules. It's hard to maintain a good ratio there.

I also have 3 for RevolutionTT - they are an awesome private torrent site, great for movies and tv shows.

i am on revolution, damn near impossible to keep up your ratio. it did have alot of torrents though, but stopped using it as my ratio would never go up...

I've always found usenet to be the shit. Max speed all the way, no upload. But it does cost.

Torrents are nice for free though. I get all my mma from a private tracker, there are some cool specialist sites for torrents which I really like about them.

torrents are risky so to answer your question about free torrents, no. there are paid subscription servers you can join up on for downloads. but torrents are not secure by nature and if leo wanted to see who is d/l a certain torrent they have their ways. even on private trackers. peer guardian and other software are a joke and do not work.

That's funny because my ratio is like 850 GB upload, 350
GB download.

Most torrent sites are actually really easy to keep a good ratio. But I've been doing this for like 7 years haha.

On revolution the trick is to download tons of TV packs, then keep them up. I think I got 200 GB upload off of DragonballZ alone!!! Haha and yes I watched every single episode of dragonball.

Or you can download a big game file, like 4 GBs. Only download like 30 MB. Then let that 30 MB upload to like 100-200 MB. Keep doing this to get ratio, so that you can download the TV packs.

You can also do it with the porn files. Just make sure you do it right when they are uploaded.

On the music torrents, you just have to keep every file you download, eventually when you have like 300-400 albums, you will be uploading consistently.

If you like TV, movies, porn, or music, then torrents are the way to go!!!

Torrents folks are what Mr Cameron in going to go after soon regarding the movie Avatar.

It is predicted they will file on ten's of thousands of people not only to cause disfunction in the torrent community but also to keep the Avatar name in the press to pump out more dvd sales.

Those folks that are using Avatar to pump up your ratio because of all the request for it 1/3 of the one's sharing are THE BAD GUYS.
