so this guy is on his way home from work. his wife calls him on his cell "Jim, be careful, the traffic chopper is showing this crazy guy going the wrong way on the highway that you take home from work"

Jim responds "Hell Lois, he doesnt know the half of it, there isn't one guy going the wrong way, there are hundreds of them"

some people just have a different perspective that is at odds with the majority :)

I myself agree with ludacris.. flowering to me is not until i see the first flowers forming on my plant and with my strains that usually is exactly 14 days after 12/12 indoors.. so when i say 4 weeks into flower i'm actuall 6 weeks since the 12/12 flip.. here's a few of my ladies and varies stages of flowering..

So when do you start giving Bloom nutes? Do you wait until you see flowers? I would hope not, but then again to each his own. From your pic, you're definitely doing something right!

Man, the first day of flowering is not when they show sex otherwise your vegging moms are actually flowering moms !

If you take a plant that has not shown sex then stick it into 12/12 then its gonna take longer to flower , Yes it still has to show sex!

But taking ANY plant that you already know the sex and sticking it into 12/12 is for almost every pot grower the FIRST DAY OF FLOWER!

I Know there is no one on this board stupid or high enough to not understand the flowering process , these types of threads are just to over complicate a simple process and stir shit up.

No being the author of this thread ... The intention is not to stir shit up. it is to get a concensus from every one ( even you, the one stiring the shit). Now you CAN''T be so closed minded ( or stupid enough - as you so elequently put it in your post) To see that some one with a difwerent process / method isn't stupid, possibly uninformed, but not stupid

dosnt matter when you consider the "flip".what does matter is when the trics say your done.Breeders give you a basic idea.I dont even look at trics until the aproximate time breeders list.

Time means nothing to plants, so timing the harvest is pointless.

I let her go till she looks done, then let her go one more week, for those who wonder the last week increased bud density considerably, by about 8% in my case. That's an 8% increase in final weight for buds of the identical size on the plant.

Crazy.

I have had multiple growers tell multiple things soooo I believe a poll is in order to finaly put this to rest... So let's begin beating that dead horse yet again :thank you:
I'll ask you the same question I've asked in the last 30 threads on this topic. (yes... I've run across it about that many times in 2 years, probably more)

Why do you want to know?

Are you asking because you have beans that say X-days to flower and you want to know when to start counting?
That one is easy.... if it doesn't 'Specifically' state a flower time for Indoor, you can generally count on it being from the first day you see pistils, AFTER changing to 12/12.
This is because most seed companies grow their seeds outside. (someone care to correct me if that isn't accurate?)

Are you asking so that you can accurately count for yourself?
Start counting from the day you switch to 12/12 or the first day you see pistils on your outdoor crop. Different strains start flowering at different dark numbers and will flower sooner or later than others outdoor.

Did I miss anything?

I always use nirvana (indoor) seeds and they DO give you a flowering time thats never accurate and should only be used as a guideline as i always have my indoor plants ready before their specified flowering times. When growing indoors with well vegged plants but not showing sex yet get switched to 12/12 thats NOT the start of flowering. If there are no flowers then the plant CANT be flowering regardless of photoperiod.

12/12 is when flowering begins. The formation of flowers is a lagging indicator. This means that the flowering phase has been initiated before the flowers become evident.

No. Flowering starts when you have flowers. How can a plant be flowering with no flowers. Its not possible or even sensible to think thats the case.
If a plant of any variety shows no flowers its NOT flowering and its really that simple and it does NOT matter about the photoperiod.
