What is this?: .8-1.0EC

EC = Electrical Conductivity...it's how you measure the amount of nutrients in your solution. Most meters multiply EC by 500 or 700 to give (theoretical) PPM. in other words try starting feeding at 600-800ppm (@.7 conversion) or 400-500ppm (@.5 conversion). Either way you need to start feeding. You rooted in water which is great, but now your leaves will start to go to hell if you don't start feeding since the plant has to canabolize itself to survive.

As Castle said, get that pH down! I would NOT recommend food yet. I made that mistake with newly rooted clones very recently.

I know the feeling! To feed or not to feed is definitely a common question with many different answers. However, questions about pH for cloning, aero or hydro seems seems to have a consistent answer. 5.6 -6.0ish. Over 7 is really high.

Unfortunately thats the problem with the internet.. Ultimately it comes down to making a choice and learning from the results. If it doesnt work out, you do it differently next time. Of course everyone wants to get it right 100% of the time but the truth is that doesnt happen, at least with our hobby.

Good luck though, Ill be following this one along.. :tiphat:

Sorry bro, I was assuming you were already feeding. I would probably start feeding but you need to get your PH down. Start out at a very weak feed of about 250-300 ppm and see what that does. Without the proper PH though, it won't matter what you feed because the plants will lock the nutes out.

Yeah bro, hydro is a bit different than soil. Plants in soil can mine the nutrition out of the plain soil even if no food is present sometimes. In hydro, when a plant is rooted and wants to grow, you have to give it food or it will try to die on you. I would feed at 250-300ppm nutes and ph at 5.6 to 5.8 and they should show improvement. Don't wait too long though because it will only get worse.

I will drill holes when I know for sure how many I will need. Just marked them for now. Works great thanks alot weird jimmy.

Hey GWE,
Everything is looking FANTASTIC, CLEAN and PROFESSIONAL!!! Keep it up bro. I'm loving the cloner. I will definitely be building this for my gals when they are ready to be cut ;)

what kind of feeding are you planning on doing, as in, are you going to do res changes or only res change at flower?

Should I cut off the yellow leaves with brown on them? I kind of expected the smaller plants to follow suite and start reaching but there not. Do you think they are getting more nutes than they need.

dont cut off any leaf matter it doesnt hurt the plant only your eyes. but it DOES tell you what sup with the plant, kind of like a natural thermometer or something. show some new pics.

as far as res changes, i recommend them every 1-2 weeks at least. if you dont, sure you can add more to keep ppm up but it will be deficient on certain minerals that the plants go through faster - ie, the ppm will not be the ideal make up of minerals if you dont replace rez every so often.. that make sense? kind of blazed

edit: oh sorry just saw that pic. looks like you are burning them to me, and the yellowing could be caused by nutrient lockout due to eithe ppm being too high, or bad PH.

what are your PHs, how often do you check? what is PPM of plain water before adding nutes - is it hard water?

if a leaf is more than 50% affected, then cut it off. Especially if it's on the lower foliage cause those branches usually get trimmed off anyway.

just curious, why would you leave dead or dying leafs on the plant?
