When people say "getting high on life" and "natural highs" - I don't think they realize that they are implying that getting high is a GOOD thing. At least that's something we both agree on. I wonder why she would celebrate with yerba mate, a powerful stimulant (caffeine, which has killed people,) and not weed.

It seems to be more like having fun without getting high
Which is fine, not everyone needs to be high to do everything to have fun

Drug free? Last time I checked, Yerba Mate was indeed a drug substance much the same way that coffee is. False advertising. Even the "drug free" need their drugs too. Welcome to the bizaro-world of the War On (Some) Drugs.
I support them in their activities, if that's what they wish to do on 4/20 (or any other day), but please, stop calling it "drug free" if it isn't.

If they start blaring out of loudspeakers how MJ is a gateway drug and should be criminalized, then it's a different story..but otherwise, meh, finding it hard to take offense to. That girl should be commended for her good qualities, lets just hope those qualities don't end up throwing people e

Hey, I didn't say one bad thing about the girl or her fest, all I'm saying is that if you want to have a little spring party, fine, nothing wrong with that, I agree, but when you promote it as "drug free" like it's such a bad thing to use MJ, look at the article talking about all the kids that "struggle to stay sober" on that day, BS, it's a rip on MJ is what it is, if the kids are struggling, then lets have a party for what they are really struggling against, peer pressure, don't dump it on MJ like it's stalking kids down and attacking them.

ironic that everybody flips their wig about a "pot free 4/20" and yet somebody just brought up Christmas, which was gonna be my point...willing to bet MOST of you guys are more than happy to receive gifts on that day whether you are a Christian or not, so aren't you all hypocrites in the same vein?
no offense intended to anybody, but we wonder as a community why nobody takes us seriously, and its because the way we react to anything that could even possibly be perceived as negative to the "movement" is almost always acerbic and vitriolic for the sake of being that way...I say we all need to grow up and get our respective heads out of our respective asses, recognize that pot is not 100% innocuous and good and that not everyone can or should smoke it, and stop being so blatantly hypocritical all the time
edit- and I do have to say that I can't believe this "4/20" thing is so big even with you guys who I perceive to be grown ass men and women....I thought this whole shendig went out the window roundabout age 16 or 17 for most people. dunno about you guys, but I don't need a special day with no clear history behind it to smoke a bunch of pot, I do that anyways
