Allright this is a call for all of you out there holding seeds from the Asylum.
Part of sending out seeds was to see em grow. I've heard some reports of peeps starting some seeds as of late but for the most part I havent heard anything from people. If you are growing these seeds, please take a moment here or there to post a pic or at least a few lines about how they are doing if you can. I would really enjoy and appreciate it.
Have a great weekend everyone!

SOunds great! I'm excited to hear that all the se beans are going to be popping! Heck Benji, with your own seedmaking, the fact you can get around to popping any at all amazes me. I appreciate it very much...all of you! If anyone has pics of asylum beans to come in the future; I'd love to see them here, or if you could, post me a link to whatever thread you do post them in. Everybody have a great weekend!

hey Mr. Motabon the smoke from my BKGK is amazing, i might like it because i grew it, and its my first plant to harvest but both of the other ppl i smoked it with said it was "some kick ass weed" and it really is , the joints of this stuff seem to last a lot longer than my other strains and it is very potent...like really potent. My BKGK plant wasnt flushed due to some issues but it doesnt have a harsh taste what so ever!!!! and has a nice kushy taste. its almost a creeper, like youl be smoking it and your heart will race but then when you put it out you want nothing but to eat some ice cream and goto bed:) il have a better update as i continue the smoke.
anyways im now getting the hang of things and have stepped up my game to 4 BKGK plants vegging for the next run, il post pics and keep you updated on the smoke and progress.

RM,
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the OTM pics. I was wondering if you might be so kind as to share a few thoughts on your selection criteria for male plants from DJ's lines, and if you have observed whether the crinkle and/or variegation mutations can be passed on by the pollen donor to its progeny? I just popped my 6 F-13 f2's that you so kindly donated as freebies, will be running them along with DJ's F-13, Blue Moonshine, Flo, and some other odds and ends this summer. Hope all is well in the asylum! AgD:tiphat:

Of my F13 Retardo Motabon f2 freebies, 2 are male, both of which are crinkle leaf phenotypes.

My understanding is that males exhibiting the crinkle leaf phenotype typically do not have viable pollen. Please correct me if my understanding is flawed.

With that in mind, I've kept both F13 males around to spread pollen, but am also going to let my Flo males pollenate. If any F13 pollen makes magic, then ignorance will be bliss, but I think F13xFlo will make for some fine future grows, don't you?

Thanks again RM.

None of these minor abnormalities are in any way detrimental to the overall gene-pool. There do occur very rare instances of freakishly deformed and stunted individuals. Every one of these I have ever encountered has been sterile or non-viable. However, some have produced some of the most unique finished product I have ever sampled in terms of flavor, potency and effect. Unfortunately, these extreme abnormalities are not only rare and sterile, most are also nearly impossible to clone.

Heya everyone, long day indeed!
Bliss, my F13 male is a crinkle leaf and the only viable male of three in my last run. Sterility isnt tied to to the crinkle variegated appearance. I am interested to see how the males fair born of this male, sterile or virile? THe percentage of plants with leaf abnormalities in the offspring will be interesting too.
THis guy has been revegged twice now and is still around.
SPring is here!

Thanks for the input!

I shall fell my Flo males and give full reign to F13 pollen, and we shall see the muster of these men. (I had this funny feeling your were going to tell me the father of my beans was a crinkle leaf :)

For your notes, of my 5 F13 f2's:
* 2 males, both of which are full-on crinkle leafs.
* None of the 3 females are crinkle leaf, though one female stylishly sports a small amount of variegation.

Having read that crinkle leafs are slower than average growth-wise, I'll add that my two crinkle leaf phenos have grown on par with the normal leaf phenos of both F13 and Flo.

I'd hold on to the flo male, I've been let down by too many F13 males in the past! Please let me know if the males are virile or not.
Oh, in the making of The F13 F2's there were three males used so not all the pollen was donated by a plant sporting the leaf abnormalities. Only one of the females showed leaf abnormalities, she is the best of the females from seed btw.The male I have kept for myself to work with is a crinkle leaf plant. Hope that gives a little insight.
