Wrong advice as usual, Rednick. As unfamiliar as I am with PBP, I do know that it's very low in Ca/Mg and oftentimes requires it particularly in bloom. And especially in sealed rooms with CO2 enrichment / lots of light, you can easily run into Mg deficiencies.

Also, giving advice based on nute bottle "label directions" is, for the most part, horrible.

Go read a book, or a nute company feeding chart, or something. I'm sure those things teach you everything you need to know. Not all leaf yellowing is from a N deficiency, but you wouldn't know that 'cuz most books don't tell you that.

You are correct most botanicare nutes are low on the cal/mag...Especially if using ro water or growing cal/mag whores like Kush..

calmg is almost absolute in RO water. cannabis is a mg whore throughout bloom. I use calmg+ full strength and I add epsom salts on top of it. used to use big bud when it had 7%mg in it on top of the epsom/calmg+ mix.

I don't need fighting here. The idea is to learn from each other.

Anyway, i'll give this a few days now and see what happens. I want to clarify that I'm not using co2, and the water is tap. However, it doesn't even register on my bluelab meter, so very low in calcium and magnesium. I figure that I can't really fuck it up too badly by increasing to 4/gal. As far as the pbp goes, my 15/gal was based on Lucas.

Thanks, I do still very much need you guys to sort this out!

sounds like you need to only flush when your EC goes up instead of down. have a flush res ready and just run it through for 10 minutes, replace the res with one mixed and ready to go, instead of flushing for the whole day. your flush doesn't have to be 0 EC either, flush em with 1/2 strength so their getting something. I don't see any burn, so maybe hit em a little hotter at res changes, but topping off with water throughout should keep you from burning or needing to flush until the end.

PBP Bloom for Hydrogardens
or/
PBP for Soil???

PBP Hydrogardens:
I use 15ml gro / 15ml bloom, total 30ml gal nutrient. In transistion.
And, plus compost teas, myco, bact....

Depending on your intake of nutrients, some people top off their res with H2O only, between res changes. I cannot tell you that is your solution.

PBP for Hydrogardens:
I do know that in my Ebb and Flow, I plan on using 30ml/gal bloom for the first 2-4 weeks, then upping it to 45ml/gal week 2-6, after week four-six, who knows???
With water topoff as needed, and add-backs on nutrient changes.

When I did soil, I also used a sparring amount of FF Tiger Bloom, but that was BotCaire PBP Soil...

When using GH in r/w I used to spike that fucker higher than any reccomendation, with good results...The only problem is with an Ebb and Flow, salt buildup became a big issue. I think that is why most (r)DWC I read about use auto-topoff with fresh water, between nutrient changes (especially if you are flushing and changing nutes weekly).

P.S. And the only Lucas I have read deals with GH Flora series, which is the steroids of nutrient salts. Which means, 5ml of Lucas, could possibly equal 15ml of Synto-Organic mix? Jury is still out in my opinion.

And your 'Electical Conductivity' is a salt based measurment. So the fact that it is going down, does not tell you what is going down (NPK related).

Why I highly reccomend the best advice I ever got on this site was, "Look at the new growth, it will tell you what is going on."

i dont grow hydro, but have always read that when growing in any kind of hydro its good to flush once per week for 3 hours just to clean the lines and buckets and roots of any extra salt build up, and the best tim to do this is during a res change, just empty res, fill with fresh water run it for 3 hrs or so , empty it out and fill it with your fav nut solution.

this just helps with any high salt buildup that may affaect your plants down the road, it can only help. and at the same time you guarantee that if you see a salt prob or over fert you can be sure that it was directly related to the last feeding

Sure buddy, not a bad idea. But the exact reason I switched from GH to Bot was because of salt buildup. Bot has less salts in it, just read the indgredient list.

Much literature on this site deals exactly with avoiding res changes.

The 'change out every week' solution is just that, a solution to a problem of there not being enough of a certain Macro or Micro nutrient. Convention being that if your plants eat of X amount of nutrient A over Z amount of time, that should mean Z is about 1 week. So replacing your depleted fuel with new fuel will make sure there is an abundance of needed nutrients.

My money is still on a PK def., but it could be Mg.
An easy way to tell with a Mg def is, if when you added the extra Mg, did the problem halt? If it wasn't stopped dead, or slowed considerably, then it might not be a Mg def.
Also, if Mg is a component of Bloom and if you are not using enough Bloom, then wouldn't that also contribute to a Mg def? Not just Botanicaire being low in Mg?

No positives here, just some food for thought.

Replace after harvest...
They only mean a lessened yeild, per lumen! Or should I say, lessened lumen per watt?

You have so many fucking lumens, you would probably be able to get a 6-9 mo life out of them

K

Kelly.

wow great info in this thread.

ill be following and reading to see what else i can learn :)

sorry im not more help,

So the problem has not gotten any better, and if anything is getting worse. Seems that I now have a bit of tip burns, and the EC is rising. Ph is falling, I've been adding UP to keep it to about 5.9.

Time to drain the res again?

Pictures bro! Close ups of affected leaves, and NEW GROWTH leaves.

I am guessing adding Cal-Mag didn't solve the problem?
You still didn't answer PBP BLM for Hydrogardens or Soil?

Try topping off your res with fresh water. Doing the nute add between res changes. or every half-week.

Let us see what Grow Nerd has to say, he is the fucking Messiah!

EC rising, tip burns, sounds like nute burn...

pH up...Eating faster than drinking. (add nutes)
pH down...Drinking faster than eating. (add water)

From another grower on this site, but has made sense to me, it is YOUR garden deal with it as you please.
