I am at wits end trying to figure out how these guys are vegging plants for 3 and 4 weeks and pulling down massive numbers. Not many of these grow logs go into detail about the vegatative fase, what do you do to get your ladies pumped up before the 12.12 show? I'm a container gardener, growing in a peat based mix with ammendments, but I wanna get em big, 2 ounce plants is my goal, Im at about 1, maybe 1.5 at the moment. Take a look at my albums and please share thanks

There are several factors that go into final weight. My biggest limitation was height, I had to LST. When I was growing soil, the keepers I would veg for about ~2 months. Gradually getting into bigger pots to prevent rootbound. I would usually transplant a total of about 3x ending up in a 5g bucket. I use a 400wHPS light and after blooming I would yield 4+oz per plant, anywhere up to around 6oz if you count all the undergrowth popcorn buds. My last two grows I started hydro and have been getting the same yield with only 2 weeks of veg. Current grow is my first scrog, cant wait to see yields on this one. Probably will end up vegging about 1 1/2- 2months.

Hope this helps

joeking,

I'm growing with similar methods by the sounds of it - container/pot-based (huge pots) and a soil mixture of John Innes No's 2 & 3 and high-grade compost. The John Innes soils already have nutes added so have to be 'watered-down' with the compost or are too rich for small seedlings/clones. I'm using a 400W Son-T-Agro bulb for vegging and flowering (the Son-T-Agro has added blue spectrum for veg) and am vegging for between 3-4 weeks with one or two toppings. I average about 2-3oz per plant with this method. Sure another week or two in veg would help improve yield but I'm always aware of height limitations so err on the side of caution. I feed during veg perhaps once if needed with a food-plant based N addiditive. Like sneaky101 says - a scrog would definitely help yields and this may be the route forward for considerably higher final weights... :D

I wonder the same thing. Dudes on here rave about 6 OZ on three week veg. How the fuck can that be? I know a few growers in my area and no-one gets those results!
I use a modified stadium set up. I veg for six weeks plus two weeks for rooting. I'm in 2Gal bags of Promix with Dutch Master nutes. My environment is absolutely perfect at all times(this is my job so I'm right on top of it). If I get 2OZ per I'm thrilled!
Maybe it's a strain issue. I've been growing the same bag seed for two years. When I bought the bag, the dude said it was AK47. I know it was serious dank!
I've got new beans on the way from the Attitude, maybe these will do the trick. Then all my dreams will come true!

There are dudes who grow locally who also claim 6-9oz per plant on three/four week veg. I've seen their results and there is an awful lot of untrimmed not fully dry bud, leaves and stems in these 6-9oz. Properly trimmed, dried and cured and without the leaves and stems I reckon they're pulling around 3-4oz, which is still good - but is not 6-9oz....

I suspect you're right on target there. Although I would like 3-4 per!
Same here - 3-4 per would be rather nice indeed :D Averaging around 2-3 at mo but scrogging next grow with a high yielding Kings Kush (GHS) that I've already grown out so know stretch-rates, yield, etc - hoping to reach that 3-4 target.... :D

I think hydro will give you those yields. I was using some Powergrowers and got over 1 lb on one plant alone!

I don't grow stadium style, just trees in a tomato cage with supplemental vertical lighting. I have 2 horizontal 600 HPS's with 2 x 400 HPS vertical and 2 x 250 MH vertical for a total of 2500 W.

1st time I only threw the supplemental verticals on at 12/12 and got a modest .56 g/W with 4 plants. This time, I am vegged with the verticals on and I see massive lower branch growth towards the vertical bulbs (as compared to last time). I think this will translate into larger buds on lower branches.

hope this helps

How do you do huge yields? 1k per plant, co2, LOTS of o2 to roots, and 2 months veg vert.

i think the trick is finding the right strain for your method of growing..

vertical = spindly strains.... 3-4 ounces per plant easy in a vert setup with a 3 week veg. , like KB with his "asian kush" (PK). Blue Dream is also great for vertical, as is trainwreck, OG kush, and other lanky strains... less veg time, more yield.

doubled gets 3-4 pound plants with a 3 week veg. 2 weeks in 6 inch grodan cubes and a week in his mpb buckets
i would very much like to read this diary.

big roots + big lights = more buds

i believe that if you want a monster tree fast you have to go RDWC or DWC, check out hydroson thread, he get monster trees less then a month veg.

cheers,

I've been reading over some coco coir threads that are pretty interesting. And the whole DoubleD thing, this person is taking on mythical proportions, I've already filed it(him/her whatever)right alongside the Lock Ness monster and bigfoot:)

When you say "Lanky" ... would you also say "Sativa Dominant" or just any strain with a fair amount of internode spacing ??

Schrews Im feelin ya...I had a realization as I sat in my room yesterday...all the verticle space that I am wasting by forcing to flower at 12"...even the stretchier ones are topping out at 30 or so inches and I have another 2 feet plus to go to the ceiling...longer veg, taller plants, and stretching encouraged fo sho

Please do some searching around....DD is most certainly pulling those numbers, and have even went as far as to get others to do the same thing. With DD's system, its ALL ABOUT the environment. You can use his buckets, but if you don't have that environment dialed in, its all a bust.

Solarz. I checked out his system, and yeah, I can buy that he's getting that, but hell, not to many cats have the time, space, and resources to set somthing like that up. Thats like trying to buy a cadilac when all ya can afford is a Daiwoo. Sounds Good though..lol
