Home break-ins: He knows you know....

Friends of mine had some stash stolen from their family residence and the theft is their fault due to an unlocked shed. They are sick with worry that some random criminal knows of their usage now and the primary concern is that the criminal(s) may come back looking for more in a violent way.

Beyond new locks and 100% vigilance what should or could be done?

If I was them I would make sure I had the correct home protection just in case they did come back and my loved ones are there.

Dogs can't use guns...

I would stick to the 12 gauge for myself...

what kind of dogs have you had? all mine are professional skeet shooters...

seriosly though that's an awkward situation to be in. i hope it works out for your friends and they don't come back.

Wat it do

home protection definitely... 12 guage or a few hand cannons... i'd also be on the look out for random cars or people trying to case ur house on stakeouts... around my parts, there are a lot of home invasions so u can never be too careful by looking around for things out of the norm in your area

nothing worse than an inexperienced firearm user (or a scared firearm user) to put cannabis all over the 5o'clock news in more ways than one...if you don't already have guns, don't go buy one and think it's gonna make you into Jean Claude Van Damme, shit doesn't work that way...

Guns? Do you really want to give mj a worse rep than its already getting? If youve never used a firearm the chances are higher that you will end up shooting yourself or one of those family members you are trying to save.. Stick with an alarm system. Its better to lose a little weed than kill someone.

Well it's not really the firearms user that puts it all over the news, it's the news agencies that have installed a private sewage slew into most peoples homes via the TV. I do agree with the gun points in part though, if you don't already own one and haven't used one too much before, chances are something will mess up in the heat of the moment.

Don't worry about all this 'bad rep' business, you do whatever you feel you need to protect you and your family. I'm not really concerned with what people think about MJ, it's entirely up to them what goes on in their own minds. They'll just think whatever they are told anyway so we might as well hurry up and get our MJ use out in the open so they are then the minority. The more actual contact they have with it instead of selective media bombardment, the faster their false fears will be demystified.

I'd be thinking about getting some dogs like the other guys have suggested... You'll know well in advance if you need to get into action.

Take care

Big mean looking dark colored loud barking dogs. Labs are great, so are Pitbulls.

I don't think it was a random break in, so obviously they let people know that let people know! So it's a good idea to go asking questions, or just general sniffing around. If it's a serious problem, find that person out! It's not a good idea to let people know about a stash, but it's a way to find out who doesn't talk.

Dog, motion lights(bright as hell) around the shed and house. Maybe a no trespassing/soliciting sign or two.
Make it clear that no one other then family has any business being on your property, and then back it up by challenging anyone you see setting so much as one foot on your property(exmp, what the F are you doing in my yard? Get the F off my property)

a shark filled moat and mount lasers on their heads.

I would put some motion sensor lights up but wire it up to indicator lights maybe a buzzer inside then a couple cheap cameras too. Might be random kids just garage shopping that got in before but those lights might get people to step back then weapons inside but safely away from kids.

Wouldn't it be easier just mount the lazer on the dogs head?:shark:

I like the idea of the motion light also activating a buzzer inside the house in case you don't see the lights going on

dogs. I have two mastiffs and never lock anything up. They make great friends, and scare the shit outta everyone else.

Keep your stash somewhere else, there are a lot of water proof devices that can stash outdoors. Plus it's not on your property, so you can keep a smaller supply in your possession.

Cops rarely turn over a flower pot, to find that eight stashed in a water tight device pushed down into the soil. A good place to keep pipes too, just run some water through that baby and your good to go.

Ceilings are good hiding spots, a hole in the wall with a poster or a painting/picture hiding that. Everyone goes for the couch or the undies drawer, I find a jacket pocket in the closet works better than those.

Just hide your stash and you won't need weapons, if it's a grow and someone knew that then it's other troubles. You can always go burn down there house, after they rip your grow. Plus then drugs are involved, on their end; just don't get caught.

U can imagine quite a few clever spots:) Make a box on the outside of a pillar or column in your house or garage, and fill the gaps with stash. looks like nothing else than a column or pillar. Stash it in a plumber's watertubing and make it look like something thats runs from the ceiling and through the floor. stashtube:)

Some buzzers are more effective than others...U know that alarm in "Lost"?
And many of the nuclear reactors corealarms are also quite horrific.
U can get quite a "M\S Fuck You" big boat-horn in a airdriven "snailhouse" horn thats mounted and used in small quarters.

Land mines. They're Grrrrreat!

In the beginning I'd be pissed. I'd probably not change anything, and leave my stash right where they took it from. Except this time I'd take a lesson from the bank and put an exploding satchel in one of the bags. Except instead of blue dye I'd use ammonia nitrite and a few other select household compounds.

I'd dare them to come back and try it again. Then all I'd need to do is find the man with 2 fingers and scorched eyebrows.

I also suggest the motion lights. Dogs are probably the worst security system ever invented. Unless they are VERY well trained a dog no matter how large can generally be circumvented with a pack of hot dogs or some lunch meat.

In order to keep his home safe though I think an alarm system is the only option. Every American in my opinion should exercise their right to use firearms to defend their homes, so get a gun, and then go practice with it. If everyone here seems pissy about inexperienced shooters then go get yourself some experience too.

Sharks, Laser beams, trap doors, ill tempered sea bass. All very good options.
