Catman- My only concern about moving the hood closer is ambient temp. I have the light on 24 hrs a day, and want to keep plants at around 75-85 degrees F. I I will give it a try and check temps. Thanks for the hint.

You know, I was curious. The lineage of these are plants are supposedly White Russian x NYCD. White Russian is White Widow x AK47. Does that mean that these plant's trichomes should stay milky/cloudy? Is this why I was having to wait extra time to see amber?

Okay thanks for clearing that up.
What I am really wondering is, will these plants ever turn amber? My last one took 11 weeks and only was about 5% amber. I was wondering if this was due to the "white" in its lineage.

I could grow a regular strain in 12 weeks, and I am looking to save time here. Should I just switch to a faster strain?

I started flushing all of my girls around 7 1/2 weeks. After that I just waited for the leaves to start to yellow and show she was ripe. I tried checking trich's many different times, and I also found that there weren't many amber trichs. Regardless of trichs, the smoke has been just what I wanted so far, and I havent even experienced them with a good cure yet. Saving the buds picked around 9 weeks for a good 4 week cure.

As to whether or not you should switch to a faster strain... I am now realizing had I not chosen an autoflowering strain, I would have clones ready to go into flower now as space clears up in the tent. If I had a big veg tent, I would probably run autos in there if there was room, but with my limited space, I am going to stick to cloning regular strains from now on.

Gl to ya man, shes an amazing smoke. Started harvesting about a week, week and a half ago, and smoking it just as long. It still as potent as it was the first time smoking her. I can only imagine what a good curing would do. Wish I woulda done a seed run now

Yes I enjoyed growing it. It is a little racy for my preference, but it was only 5% amber. Good daytime smoke for sure. Cant sleep if I smoke it at night. Just hope these two finish on time.

Quick Update:

Plant 1 is 8 weeks old today from being put in soil. Hopefully two more weeks til chop chop!
It is still about 19" tall from the top of the soil, and is just adding thickness and trichs now!

Plant 2 is 3 days behind plant 1. This plant is about 23" tall from the top of the soil. It is getting thicker, but trich coverage isn't as nice as plant 1. Neither plant are as covered as I'd like them to be.

I am shooting for 1.5oz from these two plants. If I get this I will be more than happy. I want to wait until trichs are atleast 25% amber so it isn't so racy, so I might need another 3 weeks. Still feeding them nothing. Only water.

What does everyone think?

Those temps are indeed too high already. Might want to make some changes to your ventilation system. Try putting the fan on the bottom and aim it up at the light. If I was you I'd get a second fan and one that moves lots of air. What is your room temp? With the 150w and about 100CFM one is able to stay within 5-9F of ambient temperature.

Well, we are on our final week. Friday marks 10 weeks for the first plant, and the other is 3 days behind it. The older plant is about 75% cloudy, 25% clear. I will wait for about 10-20% amber before chop. The pistils are just starting to turn orange.

Today I moved both into 12/12 instead of 24/0, hoping to have them ripen quicker.

Plant 2 - About 50/50 cloudy/clear trichs. Today marks week 9. This one might need a good week and a half before chop.

What you do with no Nutes is amazing!! Looks like it will be killer weed, dont chop them to early though... if you dont like racy weed. Found the RRF simmilar to the HBD like that. need to go to 50% amber to not get me paranoid and speedy.... It all depends on what you like though. Great work mate!

Thanks seedling! I appreciate the praise! They are really starting to yellow up due to the the lack of nutes I believe, but considering the fact that there is merely a week or two left, I am fine with that! Thanks for the trich advice. I think I will let the older plant go to 50% amber, and harvest the other one at the same time for more of a daytime smoke.

Plant #2 is sexy. It looks like she will finish with some nice size buds!

I am itching to get mine in cups, i'd like to do a seed run. I think they will do good outside, would be a late season harvest though.

wow man, awesome grow so far. your plants look bomb, I have some RRF beans growing as well, they're still in their beer cups, but 1 of them should be showing sex in the next couple days. I was just wondering, how tall would you say your plants are right now? I'm growing in a mini fridge so I'm hoping they dont get too huge, I plan on transplanting them into 1 gal bags or something in the next couple days after they show sex. Great grow though, tell us how it smokes!
