IC Mag Cup 2010 entry information

I'm full of posts and hot air... but also have 50g set aside since December
My only real apprehension is, that I've never glass cured a weed for 4 or 5 months before and I honestly think it will be less good than it woul've been in January/February.. I actually think long cures are a myth based on how awesomely perfumed and sticky my buds are about 2 or 3 weeks after drying...

In my experiance they get less so as more time passes...


I also have the same strain growing to come out on March 30th... so I guess we'll see

I totally agree, till I came to Spain I never really had the luxury of having anything around long enough to cure, but, TBH, I have found nothing improving. Stuff that has been "curing" for 4 months is not as spunky as it was IMO when it was fresh. If you grow weed that is really rank or immature, maybe it improves with age, but I think I am with Jamie here, I do not believe Dank really improves. I also go against the grain with drying, I dry plants whole, quite briskly, a bit of oscillation and 24hr extraction. Too much sitting around damp slightly composts the bud and THC from what I have sussed.

The posts and hot air remark was for those who talk but do not walk. They have a month or so to get their fingers out.

True Mr H, but if it all got so out of control, OP could post out the 1g entry baggies and let the entrants to the fiddly work... then again, 1000 entries would probably mean more judges, so more bud required to enter, so less could... dang.

I am not having a moan, just ragging a few friends .....

I'm afraid I agree with you Jamie Re: Long curing.....So no Row here..Sorry ;[...it's just degrading the THC too much once you get past a month or 2........3-4 weeks jarred is Primo 4 me.....Plus keeping large amounts of weed around is not something I ever manage...Shit just gets smoked...I've only Long-cured ganja a dozen or so times in my life and it was sometimes nice but never better than fresh buds! ;]

For pure sativas a cure is necessary to bring out the full spectrum of flavors. For 7-10 week hybrids the difference is harder to detect.

I have to say that I never kept one for more than 2 or 3 months before and certainly never as long as 5... I kinda wish the "cup entry strain" thats due out at the end of March was due a week or 2 earlier, then I would have one at 5 months and 1 at around 3-4 weeks (which is where I think it's best) for comparison

I'm more than happy to sit with some of you while I/we compare though

The rest is all cured, '09 vintage. Either way, make that 1 indica, 2 sativa

I've done some growing in the past but will not have any ready for the cup this year. Went to the 2007 CC but it was WAY too large and commercial, a few people said we should check out the icmag cup if we were serious about growing. Just joined the forum today so no PM available, do I need to subscribe to the mag to get PM access and find out more details about the upcoming event (how to get involved, judging, entering, etc) or is it strictly based on post count? This link (http://www.icmag.com/modules/Benefits/#subscribe) seems to indicate the former but I wasn't sure.
