When you lose 4 jobs in a row due to them closing as a result of mass financial corruption by our government, sinking the economy. And you no longer have a family because a member of big brother thought he deserved more of a cut on illegal business that shouldn't be illegal in the first place and took it upon himself to murder someone for that cut of which would be divided amongst other lawyers, agents, and judges. He did 4 fucking years.

I don't live in a fantasy world, I am product of our governments legislation.

Would it not be for this endeavor, I would have never been able to afford to send my self to college for a chance to get out of this crazy life our government has made through stricture or to seek retribution against those that decimated my family. Before I started all of this I had no family, no where to go, and no financial support other than big brother to turn to. I have almost graduated now.

For those reasons I proudly wear my fathers belt buckle he handed to my mother the first time they took him away for something that does no harm to another.

And I will damn sure shoot before I end up like him.

Let freedom reign.

It's all 'fantasy' and everyone that acts out is 'crazy' until it happens to you.

And I have no qualms with divulging such personal information as I will disappear into thin air soon like everyone else on this site eventually does.

As for skip, i know he is a good guy and works hard for this site, most of what i'm saying isn't even really towards him. I definitely didn't agree with his comment, but i mean no bad blood to him, or to anyone really. I'm just shocked at the stance of several posters. However, they do have the right to their opinion, just like i do. So i'm done with this conversation, it's just not worth getting worked up over. Obviously i'm passionate about my beliefs and respect those who also voice their opinion no matter how much i disagree with it.

And our countries liberties previously laid out have provided such great opportunity. However, I find it incredibly disingenuous to say that our government can provide for everyone. There are many people out there, who, due to situations outside of their ability to control or change, prevent or make that possibility extremely limited. Anyone who has ever been in a disadvantaged situation in government housing can tell you that (think kids without parents)...Generalizations do not make for good arguments.

You have taken what was a story of causation and effect and twisted it into some yearning for a medal or recognition? Not sure where that comes from.

how about the innocent people we are killing with our tax dollars EVERY FUCKING DAY? blood is on all of our hands. just be ready when it comes time to fight for that bottle of water or for a scrap of food. there are people roaming Americas cities daily doing this. They got left behind. Pretty soon we will all be fighting for scraps at the trough.

um yeah many of the conspiracy theorists are nutters, but who is more crazy? those who believe the govt lied, or those who buy the governments lies?

how did the buildings disintegrate but they found one of the hijackers Passports in the rubble? NJ Gov who was on 911 commission including the commission report itself stated the goverenment engaged in deceipt as to the chain of events on that day.

of course i don't have a security clearance so i will never have access to info about what happened that day.

this is ridiculous. were not in the 1800's, or even 19's. There is a system and way to getting heard in this country. sure, its almost impossible. but killing is never the option. The only people affected by this are the poor family's of the officers.

i can understand people not wanting to believe their goverment would do such a dispicable act, but how can you not ask even the simpliest questions about the worst terrorist attack in united states history???

This is my point. His grow was busted, he moved back east, so he probably didn't have any cannabis, and perhaps that's what made him go crazy.

1. Cannabis is used by countless people to help reduce their violent tendencies.
2. Cannabis is used by countless people to help with their mental illnesses.
3. Removing cannabis from these people's lives will INCREASE their violence and their mental illness' effects.

So it's quite possible that this guy no longer having access to marijuana allowed his mental illness to come to the surface as well as his violent tendencies...

Very judgmental are we? What if I was black? Or hispanic? Or asian? and grew up in a large city....in a nice home (originally)>very poor no family> not so nice projects and the not so wonderful world of government handouts>to school where I am today.

Seen the candy lady more than a few times in my years and always made sure my neighbors, who deserved it, lights were on as some did for me as well. I chose not to sell or cook flake and 'stacked up to get out' as some of us always said. I was lucky and had weed to deal with...others were not so lucky and I pray for them. Some chose to stay and I still have love for them and visit, while others had to stay, because they had too many family members or mouths of their own to feed and it keeps them stuck in the cycle.

The guy in the article may be crazy and wrong as I have not argued for or against him. All I have argued is that violence is indeed necessary sometimes, which is an argument contrary to the exact quote in my original post in this thread.

I think we are going to see a lot more of this... Alex Jones and David Icke's Matrix 2 starting to take effect. I'm not saying governments aren't a corrupted sham, as they clearly are, but all we know about 9/11 is 2 planes went into 2 buildings, and 3 came down... THAT'S IT! The rest is media splurge, speculation and belief... where do you start to look for the truth in a great stinking pile of deceit? Certainly not a basis for shooting up innocents. For as many politicians you can gun down, there's a candidate waiting to fill his/her shoes with the same mind set. You could take out the whole building and you'd be back where you started the next day. They are just as sick as the guys voting for them, we're dealing with robots here.

I think governments are more than aware of this, hence the the prohibiting of just about everything... It's the general population who need the reminder. If you don't like the way your representatives run your life, then take back control and deny your consent to be governed (freeman-on-the-land, expatriate, sovereign declaration etc). If you want to get out of the matrix you need to identify exactly what it is, trying to shoot your way out only proves the degree of your illusion.

I think a lot of people are missing the point here. We should be thankful the "marijuana grower" angle is being left out of the story.

Anyone remember Reefer Madness?? Let's not give the media an excuse to put this nutjob's face on the anti-prohibition movement. This man must not represent us.

Case in point: Skip's "reduce their violent tendencies" argument. How easy would it be for the media to imply that these people wouldn't have any violent tendencies were they not "addicted" to marijuana?

I have two things to say about this:
1. I come from the body of thought that says that killing or otherwise harming someone who has done no harm to you is fucked up. However, revenge is always justifiable. What this guy did wasn't revenge. it was stupid, because he went after people who really didn't have any say over his grievances. people who couldn't change anything anyways. And he went alone. Big mistake! There are plenty out there who will join you man! Concentrate our efforts where the blows will be felt the hardest! But no, instead he goes and shoots a couple police officers and accomplishes nothing. To me, that is a waste of life and he got what he had comin to him. He would have been a good soldier in the real coming revolution.
2. I like the debate this has sparked here. We here at ICMag talk of injustice, and oppression, and even, sometimes, revolution. But could we actually stomach to do it? Can all those tea partiers out there crying for a "revolution" actually stomach it? Do they have the cajones to pull the trigger and end an enemy life? Because when the revolution happens, there will be guns, and there will be blood. It took mere moments for thousands of years of cannabis utilization to be flushed down the drain when prohibition was voted into law. It has taken almost 70+ years to un-do it. We are closer now than ever before. And yet we are still so far. Due mostly to the incomprehensibly large amount of forces we are up against. The politicians and bureaucrats, the police officers and prison industrial complex, the drug lords and crime syndicates, the corporations (pharmaceutical, petro-chemical, oil, textiles, arms dealers that supply the pigs and gangs); they, and more, are all against the ending of the prohibition of our favorite plant, for reasons that all vary are all complex and yet all boil down to two things, both of which leads to the other: Power and Money. Do you think any of the above groups of people, which includes millions of our fellow citizens, will let peaceful protestors stand in the way of their money, or their power? Like they're just wake up one morning and say "all those people with signs outside my limousine really changed my mind, I'm going to call up all my prohibitionist buddies and we're gonna work together to end this prohibition thing. I'm just making too much money off the backs of cannabis users!" Fuuuuuck noooo! They will continue to turn a blind eye to the injustice: the 800,000 of us arrested every year, the thousands that die at the hand of a trigger happy thug in Blue, the millions of family members who can only see their baby on Saturday and Sunday afternoons for an hour or so, all because of a plant? Which these fuckers' "God" supposedly put here for us to spread all over the earth? And utilize every aspect of it, from the flowers to the stalks to the seeds. This plant is a miracle and to hold it in any less of a light is ignorant and shows a real lack of intelligence. That people who believe otherwise are literally running our country into the ground, with the consent of every voting American, is absolutely sickening and is absolutely grounds for justifying violent action against our government, which long ago broke from the role the founding fathers intended. Our founding fathers once said, when facing the largest super-power in the world at that time, that "whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government". How much more fucked up does our gov't need to get before we get it through our heads that we need a revolution. We are long overdue. I am biding my time, watching and waiting, the government has been good at covering up its mistakes so far, at least good enough to keep the populace at bay, and mostly docile.. but they will fuck up soon, and many innocents will die because of it, and the people will then see that violence against our government is most definitely justified. Silence is consent, and too many in our gov't are consenting to the abolishing of our freedoms, through the War on Drugs or the War on Terror, and that is despicable. When the revolution comes, I will have the mercy to ask if they want to speak up now, or forever hold their peace.. more than they ever did for me..

I think drug prohibition is wrong, but I would never shot innocent people because of it!

There's a lot on the table right now. It's very easy to be pessimistic and sometimes it takes more balls to be hopeful. Don't consider killing people--the enemy is policy, not people. Be patient--are we not closer to ending prohibition now than ever before? The problem with this shooter is that he took it personally, or just gave up on life altogether. That's no way to change anything.

Trying to tie this guys actions to Marijuana is not only misplaced but it plays right into the hands of the prohibitionists. Do we really want to argue that this guy did this because of Marijuana or because they took his marijuana away. What is this "Reefer madness II"?

Defining this guy as a "grower" and some sort of freedom fighter is doing a huge disservice to real growers and activists. This guy was mentally ill that is should be his primary definition. The fact that he was a grower, a Lutheran or a cookie eater is not an accurate way to summarize his life or this incident.

And contrary to some people's belief that marijuana is both an always harmless substance or universal panacea, marijuana is known to aggravate some psychiatric conditions, borderline psychosis being one of them. In fact if you read the news story below, the symptoms his psychiatrist cites, " disinhibition, agitation and fearfullness " are classic signs of a strong haze.

HOLLISTER, Calif. – The man who opened fire in front of the Pentagon had a history of mental illness and had become so erratic that his parents reached out to local authorities weeks ago with a warning that he was unstable and might have a gun, authorities said Friday.

It's still unclear why John Patrick Bedell opened fire Thursday at the Pentagon entrance, wounding two police officers before he was fatally shot. The two officers were hospitalized briefly with minor injuries.

Bedell was diagnosed as bipolar, or manic depressive, and had been in and out of treatment programs for years. His psychiatrist, J. Michael Nelson, said Bedell tried to self-medicate with marijuana, inadvertently making his symptoms more pronounced.

"Without the stabilizing medication, the symptoms of his disinhibition, agitation and fearfullness complicated the lack of treatment," Nelson said.

His parents reported him missing Jan. 4, a day after a Texas Highway Patrol officer stopped him for speeding in Texarkana. Bedell told the highway patrolman he was heading to the East Coast, and began acting strangely — sitting on his knees by the side of the highway and turning off his cell phone when it would ring.

Bedell said it was his mother calling, prompting the patrolman to answer the phone and talk briefly with her. Family friend Reb Monaco said Kaye Bedell asked the officer to take him to a mental health facility, but that the son refused.

The patrolman let Bedell go after issuing a speeding ticket and a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, including a pipe and a green plastic box with marijuana residue.

The next day, Kaye told deputies in California that her son had no reason to travel to the East Coast because he had no friends or family there and she and her husband were worried about his mental state, San Benito County Sheriff Curtis Hill said.

Hill also said Bedell's parents found an e-mail from their son that indicated he had made a $600 purchase from a shooting range in the Sacramento area that could have been a gun or ammunition.

The 36-year-old Bedell returned to his parent's home Jan. 18, telling them "not to ask any questions" about where he had been. But he left after that, and his parents didn't know where he went.

Little is known about his trip east, but authorities know he spent time in Reno, where Washoe County Sheriff Mike Haley said he was arrested on Feb. 1 with two ounces of marijuana in his car but no weapons.

The Bedell family put out a statement Friday saying they were "devastated as a family by the news."

"We may never know why he made this terrible decision," the statement said. "One thing is clear though — his actions were caused by an illness and not a defective character."

Investigators were trying to unravel a bizarre series of Internet postings that suggested Bedell was fascinated with conspiracy theories, computer programming, libertarian economics and the science of warfare.

Curiously, Bedell also proposed in 2004 that the Pentagon fund his own research on smart weapons. The 28-page proposal outlined his idea for DNA nanotechnology research that might "provide significant new capabilities for the Department of Defense and the individual warfighter.".......

shooting innocent people can never be justified.

self-defense when someone is intently attacking you is a whole different world than what the shooter in question did.

the shooter is insane; and there are no valid excuses.

we want cannabis to be legal, but I don't want innocent people to die over the frustrations of the insane, that is for sure.
