Jacob and the Smoke-Monster-Guy were both there when the Black Rock (slave ship) arrived in the 1800s. And their conversation makes it clear that they'd been through this all before... so the likelihood is that those two have been around a really long time.

Also, Richard Alpert (besides being named after Tim Leary's friend Baba Ram Daas) could potentially be RA? As in Amen-Ra? As in the Sun of God?

I don't believe they will actually be Egyptian gods. I think the extent of that theme will be that the Egyptians were somehow the first to be brought to the island. The island is it's own entity (seperate from any religion). I'm also convinced Richard was 'recruited' from the crew of the Black Rock.

Though I'm likely wrong about everything. That's the beauty of this show. Who the fuck knows?!?!

do you watch the previews after the show? I used to be so fanatical I'd change the channel after the show so I wouldn't see the previews and if a commercial came on I'd change the channel too.

I think the losties are all offspring of either jacob or MIB, as are all the "others". I think they, Jacob and MIB need to bring all "family" back to the Island before the island can be "fixed/saved" from outsiders. Do ya'll watch the "enhanced" versions from the week before? I do! Can't help it.

I just watched the whole series on Hulu from start to finish. I was snowed in for the majority of a few weeks and it was great - was primed for the last season. Took a lot of time though, I only left my house for supplies and gigs.

next week is going to play out like this:

richard gets back to the temple, tells everyone what's up (he's going to reveal his age, how he got there, who MIB is) and Jack's going to try and stop him (because richard is going to tell everyone that MIB is going to kill them all, and Jack will be all "hell no"). kate will obviously follow him, probably against his wishes.

I'm thinking that either Kate or Sawyer die next week.
