When I got home my roomate's wolf hybrid female had opened the child gate that blocks off the basement, where I live.

No big deal she does it all the time, I thought. Then she apparently figured out how to open my door

Right well to me it sounds like you knew the pup could let herself in and does so regularly so there's no point blaming the dog.

Dogs chew it's what they do and it's up to us to make sure that they dont have acess to anything valuable or dangerous.
Sucks about the laptop but you knew she could open the gate and the door most likely wasn't locked so stuff like that is bound to happen.

...then do everything possible to get the info on your hard drive
by getting help from an expert that you trust, so that someone
that you don't trust doesn't see pics and calls the cops.

...and from there simply take action, so that this dof can't get back
in your room. And don't worry about the folks talking shit to you.

If you're going to own a dog you need to assess the dog and determine if it needs to be caged when left alone. I have a pup now that if left alone would destroy everything in the house. So he gets caged when we aren't home. When he decides he wants to be respectful he can stay out. It's his choice. That doesn't mean I love him any less.
