If I may...

Invest in a Stanley Blower and Mod it out... well worth it
Invest in a FootHills Filter... WELL WORTH IT cheapest filter on the block based on the DIY
Look up V Scrog in the 150 sticky and look for the one in the black Barrel... Vertical Scrog around a 150 gave this guy 5zs!!

Do what you do for now, but really look into these things and youll be VERY happy.
Peace

Whats up Q? Couple questions. Where can I get a stanley blower and a foothills filter? About how much? And as far as V scrog I am already very interested and plan on expanding and experimenting after this, which is after all my first grow.

Gdbud- Could you give me more specifics on the DIY carbon filter you have setup? It looks like it would be perfect for me. Like how it is made? How it hooks up to the top of your cab? etc.?

gdbud- my updated plan is this: I'm going to have two 60cfm Active Air Blowers. One taking the air out of the clone/mom chamber into the utility chamber. The other is already taking the air out of the flower chamber into the utility chamber. Then I want to put a 6" inline 440cfm fan exhausting out of the utility chamber into the same type of carbon scrubber you have the same way. Is that too much? Ventilation 101 was complete gibberish to me. I think I could go without the fan from the Mom/clone chamber since I can always just open the door and there isn't much heat in there. I wish I just bought a bigger fan in the first place and saved myself all this trouble. Where is the cheapest place to get a 6" inline 440cfm fan?

Here's a filtered, passive intake/ light trap idea. I did it to avoid using pvc pipe/fittings. I need all the headroom I can get and this is just one option.

The vent hole(s) cut through the floor.

Collars added for filter media. I used pvc pipe cut to 3/8" long and glued on center with the holes.

I painted the floor and walls (up to the raised floor line) flat black. More on the raised floor below. (Used) dryer sheets are the filter cloth, they're attached with rubber bands. Seems to work pretty well. I have to change it every grow, probably should do it twice per grow. If the interior still gets dusty, doubling the material should help so long as the exhaust can handle the pressure.

Here's the raised floor part. I cut a panel 3/8" to 1/2" smaller than the footprint, length and width. I used a piece of glass that isn't perfect but provides more than enough intake. 2x passive is a good target to shoot for. What you cant see in the pic are the 1" tall spacers glued to the new panel. Air enters the cabinet floor holes, the raised floor diverts air to the crack all around the floor. The raised floor and black paint completely trap any light inside or out.

I read you might consider vertical in the future. You'll have to ditch the hood and verticals work better with a square footprint. I'd be willing to bet you can dial in your current setup about as well as adapting to vertical.

When you get 50 or 75 posts (can't remember which) you can send and receive PMs. That way you can contact any member allowing PMs. Might help in a time pinch.

Your project looks great, hope you enjoy it. Will your hood still fit if oriented front to back? If not you'll get better light distribution with the fixture handing diagonal. With a rectangular footprint, incandescent lighting works best with the element parallel with the narrow walls.

Where can I get a stanley blower Wally Mary
and a foothills filter? Ebay
About how much? Blower ~30-60usd Filter~90 or less depending on size....

down to biz

get a mountain bike tire. Cheap one and do the following

1 Cut the Valve off.
2 Hold it tight and cut along the fold, inner or outer doesn't matter
3 measure what length you need then give 3" to play with
4 Keep in mind the tube WAS round so there will be some awkwardness
5 You can either TAPE with Foil tape but I recommend Tiny screws and Collars. DOnt ask me about the collars I dont know what theyre called BUT the screws fit into them and are round on one side and flat on the back and will hold the Tube Down TIGHT! you can find them in the 99c baggies at the orange

6 Open the door WIDE open. Open the Tube flat. with the Fold UP like ^ NOT LIKE v
7 Put ONE length along the edge of the edge of the door so that the fold points at you. then put the other length along the inner wall
8 After it's all screwed in and in place. FOIL TAPE the seams.
9 ONce it's done and you close the door the tube should fold INTO THE CAB NOT INTO THE HINGES.
10 Regular foam weather stripping with one sticky side for the rest of the door... but use one Black Firm strip and one Soft Grey strip on to eachother this will make for NO leaks... Negative pressure in the place.

I probly need to make a thread about this.

You do not need the two 60cfm fans!
If you use a 6" fan I would put two 4" openings between the bloom/utility chamber and one 4" between the clone/mother/utility chamber. Then I would install 5-6" disks over each hole to act as dampers to regulate the temperature in each chamber.

@gdbud-

The only reason i was gonna use the two 60 cfms is cuz i already got one. It's venting out the bloom chamber already. Do you think if I just got another one of those to vent the utility chamber and cut the holes like you said that would be enough? I just don't wanna have to waste the one I have. Any ideas how to incorporate the one I have? Or maybe just get something smaller than a 6" for the utility room. I'm kinda getting strapped for cash so if I can use the one I have and another small one that would be most cost effective for me, because as you know the fans aren't cheap, and i bought the one I have at a hydro store to boot...

I would use the 60 cfm fans to move the air around inside the bloom chamber.
then go with the 4" inline fan and reduce the openings between chamber to 3"
If you go with Disco's idea for the intake I would make to space between the bottom 3" instead of the 1". This will reduce the static pressure making the fan run better.
