Yeah, I was more interested in Flo phenos, but obviously aiming for the highest-yielding/lowest-leaf ones. Also a lot had 'crinkly' leaves like an old person's skin. The current one was narrowed down from about 20 plants as I remember - possibly lower yield than some, but it is only an F1, so there's plenty of scope for improvement there...

BTW, was looking at the Oaxacan pics in your Cherniak book and I notice the buds from my plant look pretty much exactly the same now they are dried.

Once she gets to 8 weeks, cut out all N or she'll take longer than 12 for sure.

Actually, I'm finding this Highland Oaxacan Gold i blasted with UV to be pretty heady stuff, I'd love to see it done outdoors in Spain sometime, I'd even fly down to sample cos I want to see just what the difference really is between indoor and outdoor grown exemplars of this cutting! lol

Personally, I'm on a mission to create some new things that have nothing in common with Cheese and the other skunky things cos I hate that stuff with a passion. I find it to have such a dull, flat boring mongy effect and it tastes like sweaty arse to me.

Well, Haze is an improvement on skunky/afghan commersh fodder but I'm more thinking of hybrids of landraces, new blood cos the existing genepool available commercially is pretty much played out to the point there is nothing left that has a unique character. Making hybrids using commercial genes just doesn't interest me as it's just reshuffling the deck of cards and I already know those cards well and they have never interested me very much. Perhaps my brain chemistry and overall genetic/psychological makeup just doesn't allow me to appreciate the kinds of effects you find in the commercial genepool, I dunno, but I get bored very quickly of smoking most commercial strains.

Just pollinated my West Africans and Durbans with some Deep Chunk dust, I know DC isn't exactly rare and has been used by a bunch of other people, but it's a start!

Well I'm stoked too - my original green Flo that I've had for years, nearly lost three times, etc. - well I hit it with some JLo pollen a month ago, and it has one big fat cob that's so seedy there's barely any bud left. It's not a pure Flo incross, but I don't really care - JLo has the Kentish Creme in there, which can only help the resin coverage in future. Definitely one I'll be running as soon as they've cured...

On the downside, I'm going to have to reluctantly concede that my side-lighting strategy, which was basically only using the main light for eight hours and the fluoros for the remaining four has reduced yield somewhat - as far as I can tell, anyway. I think with a 400W lamp, there's just not enough energy pumped out in eight hours, and although the side-lights are doing a great job filling in the corners (and I suspect increasing the potency), the coverage isn't sufficient overall to keep the yields up, all other things considered.

I have switched to organic recently, so there's a new variable to deal with, but all other factors being identical, the drop in light is the main culprit - the fluoros do come back on for four hours in the middle of the photoperiod, but it doesn't seem to be enough alone. So I've set it back to 1 - 10 - 1 instead of 2 - 8 - 2 (still with four more fluoro-hours in the middle), and we'll see what happens.
I've got a Cocoa Kush and Vanilluna just starting to bud, so they should see the benefit almost immediately. It's a shame I'm not going to see the savings in electricity I hoped for, but more yield is ultimately more valuable in the long run.
