Am I missing something here Buddy? You mix your Nutrients by the volume of water correct? No matter if you hand water or if you have a watering system, if they both have the same volume of water you would still need the same amount of Nutrients.

The biggest thing it would save you would be time, but isn't it best to spend time with your plants to get to know them, understand whats going on with them, see what they need, constantly be involved in their medium?

I have 3 Rooms each with 10 1,000 Watters (2 used to have 8 1,000 Watters), and I watered for years by "myself" with filling up a Huge Plastic Pickle Barrel in each room, measuring the Nutrients, PHing the water and using a pump and water wand to hand water each room. Takes hours. Now thankfully I have someone to do that for me as I take care of the Breeding aspect. But it is still done the same way (just not by me).

That's quite a bit my friend like fuck me haha .. I think I have better way of explaining why it bugs me so much about this nutrient thing. What I do to water is take out 3 plants at a time and put them in a 10x20 clone tray fill up a 32oz gatorade bottle with my nutrient solution. Then I water each plant counting to 7 on each one which gives them a equal amount with 10% run off (took some time to figure haha) and then dump my runoff into a empty gal milk jug. Well it don't take long till fill up I mean shit by the end of my 2nd watering I have around over half a gal almost 3/4 which I started thinking about cuz all I do is dump it down the toilet. I'm like shit man I'm wasting so much!!! Especially being a recycling keep it green kinda guy that I am so I started thinking about recirculating systems and was like all that shit I'm tossing would be used so I'm wasting money here even though I didn't pay for these nutes. However I did pay for the Pure Blend Pro Grow and Bloom I used my first run so yea it's a waste IMO to hand water so many times a day. Don't get me wrong I'm loving my results but I get a extra week out of the same amount of nutrients with a recirculating system or ebb & flow so that's what I gotta get next. But believe me if I don't have enough to spend I'll just be getting the table and stick it on top my 18gal Roughneck Rubbermaid tote and hand water hahaha

Yes sir that is a lot of waste and when your on a budget and also with this economy the way it is, that is a lot of money going down the toilet (and in this case literally).
That is the great thing with growing Mary Jane, each person has their own way of which they get dialed in and it works for them.

I do Drain to Waste as well and I think about the exact same thing, but that is why it's called drain to waste. Ebb and flow or any other type of recirculating system is definitely more efficient.

Yea man I can't wait to go recirculating and I'll spend time foliar feeding, rotating plants ect I don't care what system I have I will always spend a lot of time with my girls!! I LOVE this plant WAY to much and want to be apart of the movement of breeders that are established when shit is legalized. It's all about genetics then...

Not true but we all have our opinions I mean look at Subcool and TGA they are selecting from huge populations and have top shelf shit with a huge fan base... There will be many different types of growers when that happens and a market for all kinds of shit, and I don't think you are a hobby seed maker if you don't have a greenhouse and acres to use that's a bit biased don't you think?

You don't know how many plants TGA, Subcool, or any other breeders out there today use for their breeding projects. Sure, it might be what the average grower thinks of as a lot, but is it in the thousands? Tens of thousands?

When it's legal companies will have warehouses and fields full of plants, so that they have their very own strain, and that shit will be like the Coca Cola secret formula. They will be able to make selections based on thousands of plants, and they won't have to hide in the shadows like we do today.

So I have some more shots to share!!! Damn guys I'm so proud of this grow and I got some new Cutting Edge Solutions products coming my way!! Here's what Joel at CES said about it.. Maybe one day I REALLY like these tents and will probably always stay with them and just go bigger or multiple DR100s with 2 400s in each one over a 3x3 table with 1gal Smart Pots on E&F or 5L Air Pots on a drip system and have Co2 hooked up to them. Damn would that be nice or what! I love the tents cuz they are a sealed environment and I feel you get more out of your lights in them than you would in a room unless it was all covered in mylar. But even then the space the light has to travel before being reflected is much longer so I'd always go with the tent. Also that setup I mentioned above going on the figures I got on my first grow which was a lil over 11oz after counting all the shit I smoked before it was fully ready and I got rid of my LB#5 and didn't include the 10g of premature bud I got from it. So if that would've filled out and gave me over a zip I would've had 3/4 of a pound on a bad run IMO. So dialed in with the right strain you should be able to get a pound from 400w HPS in a DR80 and probably a pound to a pound and a half with 2 400's in a DR100 ESPECIALLY with Co2 I have no doubts about that....
