Advance Nutrients is an amazing brand

Seen some bad batches of Bud Candy come straight from AN lately. Few of my pals use it and they buy cases direct from AN. It wasn't their "new formula" either.....clearly a bad batch. They didn't really wanna take it back either.

I named the title of the thread as a joke because of another thread titled "advanced nutrients is a horrible brand."

Read through the thread before you insult it.

I also don't appreciate you laughing at me. I respect that your a senior member, but you should know better than to be disrespectful. I grow some serious quality herb and do a lot of good with it, and I don't see you posting or having any photo's to contribute to ICM at all.
This place is about respect and sharing. I've read some of your posts recently and although you offer much advise and guidance, I've also noticed you can be close minded. Please treat people on the internet the same way you would to their face. I always do. I get dissapointed a lot recently at growers with bad attitudes and negativity, it makes us all look bad.
I surly would not laugh at you or be rude in a thread you created.

My bad. I didn't read this entire thread and that's a mistake on my part.

It was NOT my intention to denigrate you or your thread and I sincerely apologize for my postings that you took offense to.

That was not my intent - I was simply amused by the title and little more.

Again - I apologize. Sincerely.

No problem, sorry if I flipped on you. It's been a long week. I know you've been really helpful to many here. I appreciate your words. Thanks.

Another note - I have over 750 reps and I didn't get that by trying to toss out bull-sh*t to other posters.

Chalk this up to my weird sense of humor and nothing else. I appreciate your contributions to this board and I enjoy reading your posts.

Sincerely.

I know, I've seen you referred to as a mentor here more than once. Thanks. I'm glad you've enjoyed some of my posts. There's nothing better then conversing with fellow growers in my mind.

Also I have a lab as well. Mines chocolate.
Sorry to get way off topic.

On another note, I may have some interesting info on AN in the not too distant future and hopefully some side by side experiments. Unfortunately it may be a few months.

I haven't checked the last few pages of this thread, but I wanted to post that I decided to try AN today. I went and got the 3 Micro, Grow, Bloom, and also Big Bud. I'm excited as I wanted to support a company that advertises to people like us. Also, they are Canadian , as am I, so that has a place in my heart.

Yeah, there's a ton of extra pricey stuff, but I think you could get results with just the basics and some less costly additions.

In any event we'll see. I'm running a W.Widow in a WaterFarm, and an Afghani clone that's been rooted about 2-3 weeks and going into flower in a different WaterFarm.

So far, I'm happy. I enjoyed a lot of responses in this thread and it helped me decide.

Thanks!

The only AN product i use is Carboload. Because i used this product first from AN i continue to use it. Also I am still on the same bottle I originally bought, shit last forever. So I hear this and that about the product but i still use it. I have used other AN products, I think B-52 is a good one. Truth is AN has had more selection than the rest as long as i can remember. But in all that selection i find alot of double doing things.
GH has for me a simple and effective line of products that's why i mostly use them and their prices are ok.

The only problem I'm having is the tops to the containers. All 4 of them leak badly. Anybody else ever get this? I have the quart size specifically.

Yes they do. There is that safety tamper seal, I leave that once removed.

Also I made another mod to my containers, I use a syringe for my measurements, I had a larger one, but I have a 60ml and 10ml.

I used an air pump tube, which is the same size as the syringe

Works like a charm!

ADVANCED NUTRIENTS have a medical grow op at their factory to test on, and have been since their conception. name me one other company that does that.

You'd be surprised now many companies have people grow weed for them to test out their products with out advertising it.

I use way less than the label. I read a prominent member here (who's name escapes me) say that he used 0.7g to raise the PPM by 100. What I did was mix everything else how I wanted it and continued to add small amounts until my EC was where I wanted it.

IME, anything like that needs to be applied in way lower ratios than the label suggests.

Nice, I'm glad this thread helped you make your decision. I think the big bud will surprise you when you grow the desist heaviest buds you've grown. With big bud I usually alternated between medium to heavy feedings and follow the AN weekly chart. Medium is
week 2 0.36 g per liter
week 3 0.42 g per liter
week 4 0.48 g per liter
week 5 0.48 g per liter

Heavy is
week 2 0.4 g per liter
week 3 0.5 g per liter
week 4 0.6 g per liter
week 5 0.6 g per liter

This is for big bud powder and the feed chart is from a while ago so I'm not sure if the current formula has been updated
Heavy feeding strains will love it and grow massive colas before your eyes. Feed, then close your eyes, then open them and, boom! JK. But kinda, 8-12 hours after using big bud on a heavy yielding heavy feeding strain and you'll see the difference.

Good luck with your crop. Feel free to ask any AN related questions here.
If I had to suggest one more AN product for you I couldn't, how bout 4. Sensizyme, piranha, tarantula, and bud candy. Add these to the mix and this will be your best crop ever!
They should pay me.

Let me ask this, and please don't give me too much grief.

A.N. has what seems to be a confusing schedule to me. I've used several other lines, but the mixing instructions were simpler to me.

They say 1:1:1 is fine. I'm use to lines that start off more 3:2:1 and move to 1:2:3, but they adjust it on the schedule, not me. I've tried the calculator on their site and added what it said, but my EC was way off both times. One higher, one lower.

So, if the label says 1.74 tsp/gal for each of the Grow, Micro , Bloom, and I want to run a 1:2:3 ratio, then that means that it would end up at 1.74, 3.48, and 5.22 per gallon. Right?

Believe me, I feel absolutely retarded for getting confused on this after having success with so many others, but I've never worked straight hydro before and I'm confused.

Please don't make me feel dumber. I should be way past this at this point.

I'm a bit confused as well. Also I run in soil mixes. If they say 1:1:1 I'd do just that. I've heard lot of stories of people burning crops with AN. Soil is obviously much more forgiving.
Your math seems right. Which is 1:2:3?
I'm looking at my chart right now and it says 1:1:1. I'd stick with that and alternate between strengths. Medium strength should do you fine except for finicky strains. If they look hungry still move up moderately heavy or heavy. I'd do 1:1:1.
Good luck.
