126 Watt LED Test Featuring Ice

There lookin nice sleepy do you think the 126W LED really compares to a 400W HPS?
ive been lookin around at a few 400s with air cooled hoods and i can get a carbon filter with 4in" fan for the same price as a comparable LED. idk what i should get i need to spend my tax returns wisely lol

I'll have to look, but what is the approx flower time on this strain? At 21 days they do look a bit "weak" to me.

Not getting down on you Sleepy or questioning your skills. Just think at the end of 3 weeks they would be showing a little more.

You're not going to label me a "troll" are you now? Seems to be the main defensive response to any negative criticism regarding these LED's here at this site.

Edit: I re-read and found that 8 weeks is the flowering time specified.

IC BUDZ!!>>i will answer that question when this grow is over...shitty answer, but i am still testing the unit.
Funkhouser!!>>...no, i am not going to cry or anything like that...this is a test...primarily, a test of the light...i think i am being tested, too!:booked:...you are correct...they look like they are about 2 weeks behind, in my opinion...targeted flowering time is 8 weeks as you posted.

i am only posting the data in real time...when i post pics, they are usually taken the same day as i post them. i am not 'fudging' any data. i think things will move along from here on out, but we'll see...

here is a copy and paste from my opening post:
ok, here is where i will be testing the 126 watt LED light engine for LEDGirl.

this test will be as objective as i can possibly be...a test of the 126 LED light to show wether or not it can produce as much bud and as dense of buds as my 400 watt HPS does.

here are some examples of what the light has to live up to, and my usual results under the T5 for vegging and the 400 watt HPS for flowering:

i usually run between 8-10 plants under the HPS...and get roughly an ounce or so per plant...

let the fun begin.

peace.

so we will see how the light does, wether it takes 8 weeks or 12 weeks...when the buds are done flowering, we will all decide if they come out looking like what i am used to.

the data is like truth, it doesn't lie. it just is.

like it or not, i will post unbiased results and as always, please post up.

have a nice evening.:cathug:

Right on, Sleepy! A dispassionate reporting of the facts is exactly what we need.

it is not just about the light performance either. Clearly any grow will have to be retuned to maximise the environment when going from HID to LED.

Now, I'm looking forward to the next grow when you have the viro much more dialed in and we can make an even better evaluation of the Hydro-Grow product.

BTW, have the plants been stretching for the whole 3 wks of 12/12?

This has got to be the best grow journal i've ever seen,if this works out,im selling all my crap HPS in an instant, welcome LED in to my lovely home.
Just hope they send in Europe.
I can't see failure in growing with LED's.Period.

Just some things to adjust here and there, but its totally worth it.

Good Luck!

Hey Sleepy, what have your temps been during light hours? I know from experience that temps below 80 degrees can slow flowering development and onset. Anyhow, just thought I'd ask :)

updating...

de Toke-ville!!>>agreed...and yes, they are still stretching a little...the growth has been more consistent since i got the temperature to stay where i want it! i am moving the light up a bit each day or so...:dance013:
StarFox!!>>...welcome to ICMAG!!!...no, sleepy is my only screen name...Stevius is not me. glad you like what you see...the entire site is full of info and great peeps!!
hamstorg!!>>...wow, i am flattered!!...and yes, these light engines are shipped worldwide...very stealth shipping...check LEDGirl's website...this unit has been redesigned, she may have some of these original units to sell at a discount...or go for one of the 205 watt units...thanks for the kind words!!
LEDGirl!!>>...i am trying to keep the temps between 85-90 degrees...and they are doing much better when it is nice and warm...thanks for peeping in on me!!
chuckyoufarley!!!>>hey man, thanks for coming back, old pal!!...i am very excited about the end results...in the last few daze, they are looking better each time i check on them...woot!!
MeanBean!!>>...yeah...i have been digging out from under about 2 feet of snow...and helping neighbors do the same...here comes the update.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

these pics were taken last night.

i kept the measuring tape where it was after the first plant to try to give you and idea of the height differences in each plant...when under the light, the two shorter plants are elevated to get the canopy even. (i hope that makes sense)...

you can see the damage from the heat stress and her new growth...making a pretty good comeback.

so little buds are forming all over...the two larger plants are really looking good!!...they have all been given plain water pH'd to 6.5. all new growth looks lush and light green, and the leaves look healthy all the way out to their tips (except for the one that is recovering from heat stress)...

i hate snow, by the way!

peace.

THERMOSTAT!

THERMOSTAT!

I have the same one Sleepy, I usually use a piece of tile on either end to space the tray off the mat.. or it can run too hot and dry your little ones out. They look happy!

You should for sure get a thermostat for your heat mat!
