Gotta say.....Owl Mirror seems to have been crucified in this thread when in reality seems like he's one of the few with his head on straight....I really hate this "us vs. them" mentality on these sites. I'm one of the most conservative, straight-laced potheads you'll ever meet, does that mean I'm not on the same level as the guy with natty white boy dreads and hemp bead necklaces?? Come on get real people, stop looking at everything through rose colored glasses

I find this entire thing hilarious...talk about an overreaction

Who T F are you? The moderator of this thread called out OM and he deleted his posts. Do you want to step up and debate collectivism against individual rights with me?

Peace, :joint:

Man, this thread has gone downhill fast and has become just absolute crap. I guess NOBODY ever heard that arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics. You might win but you're still retarded. Audie 5000.

Who the F am I? A guy posting on this forum...who the "F" are you? Same thing, right? I don't care to debate anything with you, I stated my opinion and that's that. Surely I am not the only person who is looking at Skip's posts with a big "WTF" look on their face. This guy is clearly not in touch with reality.

Regardless of what some people think the Boycott has been a success by any measure.

1. The website of the organization that opposes medical marijuana and touted Starbucks as a sponsor is GONE! The Starbucks corporate logo on their home page that was placed there by their webmaster, possibly illegally, is what started all this. It was placed on top of all the other corporate sponsor logos, thus making it appear that Starbucks was the #1 sponsor of that organization.

2. Starbucks no doubt forced the shutdown of the site thanks to so many complaints against the company. They enforced their copyright as is their right (see how important it is NOT to copy copyrighted stuff without permission!).

3. Starbucks issued a statement about the boycott, denying their Corporate involvement in supporting the anti-mmj campaign.

4. The Cannabis community was mobilized within HOURS and succeeded in flooding Starbucks with complaints and promises to boycott their products.

5. Thus we have proven that the cannabis movement is alive and growing every day, and becoming more active and aware of how we are being targeted by special interest groups who want to keep arresting 870,000+ cannabis users every year for profit.

6. We no doubt made our point and the corporate world noticed. Next time they will think twice about supporting anti-cannabis groups.

So I hereby declare the Boycott a Success!

If ppl want to go back to Starbucks that's up to them as always.

Starbucks responded responsibly to the boycott, they listened to us, patiently explained their policies and I could find no particular bias against cannabis, other than the drug testing that the company does (not mandatory).

I still have one nagging suspicion I would like some Coloradoan to check on...

I'm thinking that maybe some Starbucks franchisee (or maybe several) DID actually sponsor the anti-mmj organization specifically to get cannabis businesses put Out-Of-Business because of competition concerns. Remember Colorado now has cannabis cafes, and the local Starbucks may have feared the competition. So we need to know if that was the case. Can someone examine a Denver map, and locate any cannabis cafes and their proximity to any Starbucks facilities. I bet if they are nearby each other, indeed a Starbucks franchisee may have actually given money to this anti-mmj campaign.

I guess until we hear about that, the boycott is still on for me.

Skip's comment should be pasted everywhere... from network news to the local herald ~

No need to stop here. I never really liked Starbucks anyway, now I have an actual reason.

GOT IT!!!

The new 8 Rivers Caribbean Cannabis Cafe is located on the SAME BLOCK as a Starbucks Franchise.
Read Article about Cannabis Cafe

So it looks quite like this Franchisee may have actually given money to this organization since it would be in their business interests to remove a big competitor on the same street.

No doubt this Starbucks lost its stoner/medical mmj customers to the cannabis cafe! They must be hurtin'!

So we need to question Starbucks further about this. And anyone in Denver should confront this Starbucks owner about what exactly they contributed to this anti-mmj campaign.

This ain't over yet folks!!!

Call this Starbucks and find out what's going on:
Starbucks, 1490 16th Street, Denver, CO‎ - (720) 904-3580‎

Don't let them bury this!

Zoom into this google map to see how close they are to each other!

Wow! Looks like a continued uphill battle for the legalization of cannabis. Thanks for providing the links to send the emails to Starbucks and law enforcement groups. I submited both emails even though I don't live in Colorado.

I called the #, evidently the owner/manager isn't in. The woman who answered refused to answer any of my questions...

Questions to ask: (720) 904-3580‎

Did you support the Colorado Drug Investigators Association?

What was the nature of that support?

Was Starbucks corporate aware of your support?

Did you approve of the use of the Starbucks Corporate logo on that organization's website?

Are you still going to support this organization?

How's business fared since the opening of the Cannabis Cafe on the same block?

Now that we may have the smoking gun here, are you Denverites up for a picket line at this Starbucks?

good to know about SB's. That is fucked up though, because the company was made huge by a pro pot hippy from seattle, named howard shultz. Then he sold it and it became the bland corporation it is today. 100% bull shit now

congratulations guys, you are primed to achieve the exact OPPOSITE of what you want. it's obvious now that you are simply reaching for reasons to boycott this company, and people who actually ARE intelligent, thoughtful, and not looking at the world through rose colored glasses are going to take notice of this witch hunt. way to go

Cannabis cafe on the same street as Starbucks? CLEARLY A CORPORATE PLOT TO DESTROY THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK! Nevermind the fact that Starbucks is on every fuckin corner of every street in every city of america now...

You found the SMOKING GUN! bahahaha. my god you are clueless

I'm sure I'm next in line to be banned for being a "government spy" as Owl Mirror was. what a joke

I am glad this all worked out. I was about to stop drinking overpriced coffee.

PS: I have yet to see anyone successfully debate a moderator.

Yes, but until now there haven't been Cannabis Cafe's to challenge Starbucks on every corner. Perhaps one day soon, there will be, thus they are trying to nip the mmj movement before it become serious competition.

You sound like you haven't got any idea how cutthroat the REAL business world is. Cannabizes don't even come close to using the tactics of Multinational Corporations.

But apparently we've given them (and YOU) something to fear.

Owl Mirror and dongle have both successfully debated Skip, the problem is that he is clearly on a power trip and chose to silence OM instead of refuting his points with FACTS instead of ridiculous emotional arguments that don't even make sense or have any basis in reality

Skip, I'll go out on a limb and say that I have more experience with business than you do, as a former small business owner, and as upper management for two corporations

I know exactly how cut throat things can be, I'm also not so blind to reality that I jump the gun and try to crucify a person or a company based on VERY flimsy anecdotal "evidence"....
