I so truly wish I had the requisite qualifications!...

However I am so stressed @the moment th@ my attention to my grow is not as much as I would like...

I will be getting one or two of these 126W lamps soon I hope, so I'll still get to do a comparison vs 2 400W hps...just have to wait 'till I can buy 'em meself though ...such is life.

As I survive on a bit over $300 a week, it will not be before
Feb/March th@ I can buy my new LED's...but I have a second cab for when I do...I just need to get a fan and carbon filter and the lamps for the second cab and I'll be posting a comparison thread of my own.

Why do I survive on so little?...because I don't sell for profit...I'm a strictly personal grower...no offense to others th@ do sell...I used to buy from you guys...but I don't want to HAVE to!

So, if by some freak of luck, every ICMag member received an oz of brainbending weed and were too wreaked to reply and put their hands up for this...I MIGHT succeed......but I doubt it! hehehe

Because we already did our promotion for moderators back in November, in which there weren't any "every day" users who received a free test light. The mods had their opportunity, and 5 of them received lights. Now it's everyone else's turn or I don't feel it would be fair

If 126w LED outperforms or achieves an/as 250w HPS then the LED is already an success.
The price simply is the only thing that is giving doubts.
When LED is down to HID prices the nay-sayers will be void if the afore-mention holds true.

(if nobody takes it upon themselves to do the 126w vs 250w shootout then I bet I know of some who will)

wow thanks for the plug guys i only use a 400w for veg. i use 1k's on a mover for flower. i would love to do a veg comparison though

i'll throw my name in the hat for a 400watt hydo vs led comparison; i can do hand watered coco and run them in separate dr60 tents.

Awesome! Have really been hoping for another promotion like this...

I have been wanting to do a side by side comparison with the 205w against a 400w in Hydro! Got a lot of respect for you soil growers out there, but in my eyes it's hard to beat hydro's speed and ease. I live in Central California and have had my medical recommendation since 1999, so I have just over a decade of growing my own meds under my belt I can officially say. I have grown exclusively with HPS to flower with the exception of my very first indoor grow which was with t12 with agrosun fluro's. Now I am no where near the 1 gram per watt that some HID gardeners are achieving but I am very consitently pulling anywhere from .5-.65 g/watt. I have journals on other websites as well but have discontinued most of them as I have taken a particular liking to ICMAG and its community. I would have no problem at all posting a journal with at least weekly updates if not more. I am currently doing a side by side comparison test between Hydroton and another grow media STG hail, if you would like to check out my writing styles and my presentation of things. I also have a great dig camera a Nikon d60, hopin to order a nice macro lens to get some super close ups but it does great for the time being. Anyways, super look forward to seeing the results and really have my fingers crossed. Good luck to all...

Wise Wizo is my good friend and gardening adviser and he is truly the real deal... he has over 10 years of experience growing in hydro under 400w HPS and he builds his own custom aero units!! I highly recommend the Wizo for the grow-off... i doubt you will find a more talented experimental gardener for this project!!!

We have this Promotion posted in 2 different places, to make sure that enough people get a chance to put their names in. If it isn't in the other thread, and it was deleted by mistake, I apologize. I'd go for the 400 vs 205 grow - I have a 400, and will be starting a hydro grow again very soon.

I'm gonna do a 12/12 from seed w/ sativa (malahazi)

I would love to try one of these out. I've had a thread around here for quite a while.
I grow in coco. I'd have to divide my flower space to do it, and change things a bit.

I use GH flora nutes. Lucas formula modified for coco. Normally I do a perpetual under a 400. I could split my space or even build a separate equally sized space. The space I flower in is 5' x 26" x 4' high. So I could have 2 30" x 26" areas if I split it. A 400 hps over one side and the 205? is it? over the other side. I can't say a gpw yield because I've always run a perpetual under the 400 so never had it all chopped at the same time.
Seems some of the guys who didn't do so well with leds had some deficiencies that they didn't get taken care of or even know they had. No such problem here, my plants are healthy. You're welcome to take a look through my threads in my sig. There's a lot of great pics and plants. Many have been grown under a 1K, but the pics below are from under the 400. I have a well respected group of friends that come around and check my grow regularly. A lot of folks will see it.
I know you said soil and hydro, but coco is huge around here.

Oh, strains, what I have equal sized clones of:
Could be C99, Sour Diesel or Chem4. All good dialed in producers. i have others, but that's what I'll most likely have twins of at any given time. I have the time to invest in making a good comparison thread with lots of good pics and regular updates.

I have good beans, but I don't think you can do a good test run of something like a new kind of light with the unknown variables that are inherent in sprouting seeds. Good clones, so they're already mature, and no surprises.

edit: I usually veg under flos, but in this case, since I'll be stopping the perpetual for this, I'll veg them for while to a decent size under the flowering bulbs. Heat or lack of it, won't be a problem, I have enough other heat sources to compensate.
