311, I messed up man! I ment I only have 3 weeks left!!! sory but can you give me your outlook again with the right amount of weeks!!!

This sat is the end of week 5!!!!!! Please let me know by then!!! Irish hows this look to you man?

This is my plan what you think?

Week 6: Apply Gravity @ 1/2 tsp per gallon : with 1/4 strenghth nutes

Week 7: apply 3/4 tsp per gallon w/o nutes.

Week8: Just water.

don't use no nutes with gravity or your plants will pay!!! trust me its not worth it. rember i use soil, but i will call my hydro guy and ask how he dose it for you. but i use 1/2tsp per gal and feed 3 times in a row, with no nutes, then after that i feed nutes 1/2 strength then i just go about my normal routine.

I only got 3 weeks left though??? I can only do it like 2 or 2.5 then I gotta flush.

You think the plants got enough nutes built up???

I

irishboy

ok i called my hydro guy he said flush ur plants before using and add 1-2ml per gallon for one week and that should be good. he also said just use plain water no nutes. add it 3 weeks before harvest. follow the bottle and should tell you the same.. but remember less is more with this stuff. so if it says 1-2ml i would use 1ml. thats the number one thing people always do is over feed their plants. this stuff is strong, and if used too much or too strong u can get bud mold. or really bad nute burn. do fall into the hype of all the fancy nutes. just get some good veg, flower, and bud booster. use the KISS meaning, (keep it simple stupid). cant go wrong with the KISS..lol its helped me for many years

good luck bro if you have any question fell free to ask and ill help you out as best as i can.

do it just one week and see how you like it, then one more week of ur bloom food at 1/2 power, then flush for a week.

Yeah I was thinking something like that!

I was gonna say I'll do 1 ml per gallon in plain water this week, then see how it goes.

Maybe you guys can see the pics I inspect them and we'll determine if I can do it another week or go back to nute. I like the 1/2 strenght Idea!

I like the kiss method. I don't want to go beyond general hydros base + 1 or 2 boosters.. You really got to know your strain beofre you can really fine tune your setup though. get to know that strain, test 1 variable or 2 at a time....

thats the idea. just remember the KISS method it will always treat ur right. always take one step at a time. and remember less is more. its hard to tell you what exactly to feed them, ur the only one that can say for sure their ur kids and u see them day after day. just learn hoe to listen to ur plants and they will tell you what they want and when they want it.. don't worry bro it will come to you in time. specialty if i use the same strain time after time.

One last question Irish, you said flush my plants before I use it. Think I should put plain water in there all day and night sat then change again with the gravity in it on sunday??

Thanks man!

sounds good to me. i really don't know about hydro flushing, but i think its better to at least do it for the little time then not do it at all. just remember to add ph adjusted water. when you do it.

Yeah, I bet 24 hours is enough time for the plant to suck up some plain water..

In hydro it's not just a matter of sucking up water but getting her to shit out the nutes to the roots when lights go out. I use buckets with hydroton balls and a tri-meter. It takes for me at least 4 days for her to let go in the final flush. The tri meter will tell you what you water is going in and after your rez is close to this number after a few changes then and only then is she clean of nutes.

Thanks for your advise! I am going to take it. I really wasn't sure.
I am gonna go ahead and flush my system now.
then my plants can clear for at least 2.5 days. before I give them the Gravity mix..

311, I messed up man! I ment I only have 3 weeks left!!! sory but can you give me your outlook again with the right amount of weeks!!! that's fine brother. U'll just do the double dose, for a shorter time. And at that point I'd probably do NO NUTES, or 1/4 nutes as u said, but preferably NO NUTES AND DOUBLE DOSAGE(sorry I hope u don't think I'm yelling. I cap so u can see I mean that shit! LOL! U know what I mean though. Like a warning label. I just wanna make sure u read THAT SPECIFIC PART WELL! LOL!

This sat is the end of week 5!!!!!! Please let me know by then!!! Irish hows this look to you man?

Week 6: Apply Gravity @ 1/2 tsp per gallon : with 1/4 strenghth nutes

Week 7: apply 3/4 tsp per gallon w/o nutes.

Week8: Just water.

Week 6: Apply Gravity @ 3/4 tsp per gallon : with 1/4 strenghth nutes OR 1 tsp per gallon and NO NUTES!

Week 7:. Either go back to feeding(which by now u should be lowering ur PPM's/nutes anyways) OR go ahead and start flushing 10 days b4 chop(which is wat's most recommended)

Week8:
Just water.
(exactly, after a proper flush, just bring her on home! giving her fresh water till ur ready to chop)

Hope u don't mind but here's some pics of my final product off of 1 of my girls. I'm not sure if this is the Chiesel or the Pineapple Express, being that I had a stoner moment when I place the beans in the water. And I forgot to label just those 2 cups out of all the beans. So needless to say, I'm not sure which strain this is. I'll confirm it when I pull the other girl in a couple of weeks. But the reason I wanna post these pics is because of this. Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy, and Final Phase makes claims of making the curing process quicker. I'm not sure if they're really tellin the truth BUT!!!!!!!! this girl in these pics were chopped down on Saturday, placed in my tent, with NO fan. Ive always used a fan, not directly on the buds, but it was recommended for air flow, so I did it. I always felt my buds would dry too quick(the outside that is), so this time I place the buds in my tent, which I'm not using. Zipped her up. The temp stayed at a cool 71 f, and 45% RH, Well by Tuesday, the nugs were dry...... IMPOSSIBLE I say! But I take it down, and cut the nugs up, and jar it up. I took a sample then and WOW! Here it is 2 days later, and I'm already smoking on my nugs. Not much, but I took 1g out of the jar, cause she's already tasty, and she still has another 2 weeks of curing as long as I'm concerned. I gave someone a nug of it, and she almost wet their pants, LOL! It STINKS, tastes great, and still has a way of curing to go. So she's only gonna taste better. But that's a result of Bud Candy, and a good 2 week flush. I've always flushed for a week in Hydro, but after flushing for 2 weeks in soil, and telling the difference in taste, and smoothness, I will from now on flush for 2 weeks, at least a minimum of 10 days. But I do think the Bud Candy, and Final Phase(I forgot to mention that I do flush with Final Phase(I pretreated the soil with Clearex first, and then used the Final Phase for the rest of the flushing). I wanna mention that my nugs are at a PERFECT crisp. When I take a nug and break it up, it is nor moist nor dry! It snaps perfectly, w/o crumbling. So for next grow I would splurge on Bud Candy and screw the Snow Storm Ultra. Cause ALL my girls are covered in crystals. Ever since I started using the Bud Candy, I have bragged about it. u will see a difference in EVERYTHING, in ur plant! I mean I LOVE Bud Candy! I've tried FloraNectar, and had BAD results, almost killed my whole crop. I mean ALL my roots turned into gook and slime, within a few hours, and they were healthy prior to that! Must have been a bad batch, but after a mistake like that, I wouldn't chance it again. I know a bunch of people who SWEAR by FloraNectar though, and have had GREAT results. Me, I stand by my Bud Candy! I also use Sweet, a little here and there. I'll mix it up, once in a while! Like 1/2(BC) and 1/2(Sweet). The girls seem to like it soooooo...... Dude I have bragged soooooo much about Bud Candy, that I got this guy at my Hydro Store to finally try it, and he recommended it to me!!!!!! He had never tried it, all he said he had heard good stuff and it was new, but he swore by his Sugar Daddy, that it was the best! Then I described the effects that BC had on my girls, and b4 u know it, he starting doin a side by side test, and now he LOVES the stuff! I'll have the other girls coming down shortly. They're all about to finish up soon. Ive got: Arjan's Haze #1, Strawberry Haze(This bud is covered in purple hues), Pineapple Express(I think), and my own accidental strain called Fuzzy Mango(Super Silver Haze x K.C. Brains Brasil), All are being flushed except PE, which will begin to be flushed next week. I've actually got a poll going if u'd OR ANYONE would like to take a vote. Here's the link-------> CLICK HERE. d that way, if u'd rather, I'll just post the next pics on my thread, so I don't jack ur thread bro! Well hope u enjoy the pics, and I'll post some others as the girls get chopped down.
CHECK OUT THE FROSTINESS, THANKS TO MY BUD CANDY!

SO wouldent the Bud Candy be replacing my koolbloom? I thought gravity was a hardner and was somthing diffrent than avitamins/nutrients boost.

I will def consider giving it a try.
Noooo, it would NOT replace ur KoolBloom. U would still use ur Kool bloom. Every nute company has a Carb/Sweetner. For instance, the makers of KoolBloom, which is General Hydroponics, make FloraNectar. By General Hydroponics Recipe u would use FloraNectar, if u were using General Hydroponics nutes. Butu u REALLY DON'T have to use the same nute company for Carbs, because most carbs/sweetners(except for Botanicare Sweet), won't really measure on a TDS meter(at least on my they don't) Bud Candy is a Carbohydrate. Yes it helps increase swellin in the buds, but also creates starch, which the plant uses, which in return gets turned into sugar, which is wat makes the bud taste sooo good. if I'm wrong someone chime in with some facts, but that's wat I was taught. I might not be all scientific about it, but that's pretty much wat happens in a not so scientific explanation. The Gravity is a flower hardener. And the Bud Candy is FULL of goodies for ur plant. Here's a Nutritional Fact thingy about Bud
Candy. Look at ALL the goodies it has. Remember though it's NOT food plant, ur plant still absorbs it. So read all the ingredients. Vitamins, Amino Acids, Carbs, Trace Elements, ETC........ Also here's the Bud Candy Web page if u would like to read more about what they say about it.--------> CLICK HERE! There's enuff literature between the nutritional facts, and the Hyperlink I provided, to help u make up ur mind. Hope this all helps u. Make sure u click the bar above the pic so the pic can be enlarged so u can see all the ingredients. ALSO!!!!! if u look, Bud Candy ALSO has Thiamine Hydrochloriide Which if u look on ur bottle of Gravity, that 1 of the 2 ingredients listed. Which means for 6 weeks ur fattening ur buds up, cause ur suppose to apply it from week 1-6 of flowerin. ME!!!!! I start applying it while in VEG, about 2 weeks B4 I switch to 12/12. The girls LOVE IT! Helps make stronger stems, and helps bring out fragrance(if that's what u want. I can't see NOT wanting the fragrance, even if it's a security issue. Dude I live an apartment, ut I still make sure my girls stink. Just scrub my air!

Ok, so I had never used molasses in my hydro units and heard great reviews about the stuff. So I gave it a go. I used 1/2 teaspoon per gallon, everything looked great for the first week. In fact plants looked incredible! Weekly reservoir change came around, swapped nutes, added 1/2 teaspoon of molasses once again. Next day I had this nasty thick ooze comin out from the bottom of my buckets covering the roots. Within 24 hours I had lost 2/3 of my crop. Never had lost a plant before that. Then blickity blam lost 2 out of my 3 bushes for that run. Thank goodness the 1 made it threw, as we all have to pay bills... ya know.... Anyways, if you do decide to give molasses a try keep a sharp eye out for nasty slime on your roots. I would recommend some other additive thats made specifically for hydroponic use.

Peace
Thank u for clearin that up, so this gentle person doesn't suffer like u did. I will never get tired of sayin this. U man can claim the success of what he does, while the next man does the same exact thing, and it becomes a nightmare in his garden. I would NEVER use my home cookin products in my garden, ESPECIALLY in Hydro! Maybe in soil, I would try(still would be very iffy about it. Can't say even then I would do it), but not in hydro. Same thing with peeing on ur plants. I have heard great stories, and NIGHTMARES about it. So why try it, when I can spend the $30 and know that was made specifically for my plants, and not my pancakes! +REP FOR U BRO FOR BRINGING UR EXPERIENCE INTO PLAY!

Mr BEan Lsiten to wat this person is sayin. U must keep an eye to see when ur PPM's stop rising! So u will replace the water ever light cycle, until PPM's stop rising! OR u can pour water over ur Hydroton, and take test the run off! When it stops rising, ur Hydroton, and plant is flushed. Remember this, u can flush the root ball BUT if ur Media still has nutes in it, the plant will still absorb it, so technically, u didn't flush. The purpose of flushin is too REMOVE ALL SALT BUILD UP, therefore leaving NOTHING(no food) for ur plant to absorb. Does that make any sense to u? U don't wanna flush for 2-3 days in hydro. Unless it's ur final flush. U jsut wanna clean ur media and roots of any salt build ups, that's all! Ur not doin a FULL flush! U can flush ur media out by hand! If u have a feeder in ur system, I would just run your feeding pump for 1 whole light cycle, and then apply the new/fresh solution.

You think the plants got enough nutes built up???
Also don't expect ur girl to be ready by that specific date. From my experience in my past 6 grows, it always takes an extra week or 2 from what the breeders say. So if the breeder says 8 weeks, I'd assume it be 9-10 from the change to 12/12. So u might have an extra week or 2 than u plan bro(not tryin to rain on ur parade brother. Also NOT saying ur girls WON'T be done, just sayin don't be surprised if they're not ready by then)! A lot of people tend to harvest early because of that. Don't remember if u have a Scope, but I suggest u invest the $15 for a x60-x100 pocket microscope, at a Radio Shack.

Nice, Thanks for your input man! Always welcome on my thread!!

All in all I am still the captain of this boat so I am going to make a mix of all the advice I have got.

About flushing: I feel I will be ok with only doing it for the 2.5 days. I only grow in 6” net pots and the water never touches them, and I flush with water before I re-fill my reservoir every time..

There’s just nowhere for that salt to hide in my glass tank…

About the Schedule: Well I have heard run nutrients at 1/4, ½, and 0 strength. I can’t see flushing my plants and then putting in the new mix with more nutrients soooo Imma just give her gravity and water for the sixth week. Then probably go to ½ strength nutrients for a week again, and then water.

As far as finishing late: I doubt it but I agree to watch for a few more days on new strains especially with LED's. I actually cut them down 2 days earlier than the harvest date last time around with this strain.

Once I get into my new strain that’s when I can really fine tune all these preliminary test with the nutrient boosters n nat!!

About the Nutirents: Yah I doubt I will be using KoolBloom again. I just can’t see it helping me much. I think just using base nutrients like the flora series and 1-2 boosters is all I want to get into. Like Irish said KISS man. Yah I will save the Snow for a rainny day... Wait does that even make sense?

Next time around it’s looking like GH and Bud Candy. Gravity may Stay in the mix too!

Week 6: 1 to 1.5 ML of Gravity and Plain H20
Week 7: Most likely back to ½ nutrients. Maybe gravity and ¼.
Week 8: Plain H20 tell finish.

First
it starts with 2 separate flowerin areas, and before u know it, ur trying TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD........ MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! LMAO!

Yeah well what I wanted to do, is just be able to apply the new variable "bud candy" to 2 plants, keep the other 2 like the last run. then I could just stand there and compare plain as day. Plus if I blow it on the new variable I still get 2 plants!
