Wow, first I've heard of this case.

He has a very strong argument that's been bolstered by the Nutt sack fiasco and Alan Johnson's commentary in the media.

I certainly hope he will win, but I'm not holding my breath. Simply because the result of victory would be full blown legalization overnight, and I can't see the government letting that happen -- even if they have to invent some new legislation to stop it. But man, I would love to see him win this one.

He certainly has HempHut! The scientific evidence is building up day by day from all corners of the world.

Well the only legislation or law they can use are the ones we have at present-The Mis-use of Drugs Act (MDA). The MDA was designed to change with NEW scientific evidence, but even with the heap's of positive evidence our Goverment constantly refuse's to acknowledge these facts!

I believe that the pharmaceutical company's have the biggest hand in this messy debate. Estimated profit last year for the pharmaceutical company's...$550 billion-now how much of that revenue do you think they would lose if Cannabis was legalized?? The pharmaceutical company's wouldn't want you to be able to 'grow your own' medicine in your spare cupboard now would they? Also the Tobacco, Alcohol and Pharaceutical company's give 'DONATIONS' to M.P's to help their political campaign whilst ensuring that they keep their standing in the market place untouched by the common sense campaigners for legalisation at bay!.

That put aside though-the simple fact that Alcohol & Tobacco kill more people every year than all illegal drugs put together should warrant a change in the MDA. The public are constantly mind fucked by Goverment adverts (and in the media) stating how evil Cannabis, M.D.M.A & LSD are (who pay's for these ads?)-yet you never see adverts on t.v stating the hundreds of thousands of people dying from Alcohol and Tobacco.

You have to ask yourself is the Goverment thinking in your best interest's or their's? If their thinking in their best interests then they need to be stopped. We all know how un-trustworthy most M.P's are Iraq war, terrorism laws that take away privacy of the ordinary joe bloggs and everyone remembers the M.P's expense's scandal where they basically robbed our taxpayers money to live the life of reilly. Did any M.P's go to jail over the FRAUD they committed.....NO!

All that said I hope that Eddie can sock it to them in court-his last chance when all UK option's are exhausted is to go to the European Courts Of Human Rights. I think this aspect is very promising-the ECHR recently ruled that our Stop & Search laws flout the Human Rights Act and have ruled it illegal-so there is still hope yet!

Its us against the Goverment-there are 5500 M.P's in total governing 61 million of us, so in no way should we feel like we have no power!
REVOULUTION, UPRISING and OVERTHROW spring to mind!

RANT over lol..........spread the message of Eddie's struggle to all you know so this story gets heard everywhere-it could change public perspective.

They are an umbrella organisation for the Alcohol, Tobacco and Pharmaceutical industries and principal funders of anti-drug ads in the US. This is all well documented, though Im not aware that similar organizations in Europe have been scrutinized in this sense. My guess is that similar patterns can be found in Europe.

Hiya Entropical! Yes if i remember rightly that little gem of information was in a movie i saw called The Union or was it in In Pot We Trust? Whatever movie it was in, it's still an unbelievable fact isn't it!
All Cannabis growers (legit or non-legit), cannabis seed makers, cannabis sellers and hemp clothing makers worldwide should contribute towards a fund which would enable the best solicitors in the world to finally get this topic put to bed for good! WISHFUL THINKING????

april is likely to be pretty close to a general election too. politics will play a part which i guess could work in our favour or against us.

i also think he would have a strong case at the european court of human rights if this fails

Hi EddieShoestring! I did suggest that we should do just that-Eddie said that doing so might give a negative response. Eddie said that a while ago-I'm not sure whether he might have changed his mind though. If he didn't want peeps to do that, you could always go to the 420 march in London on April 20th?

Yeah me too, donations to the DEA are what's keeping Eddies case and others afloat.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll look that one up too. I don't suppose you have a download link for the Drugs And Drug Policies book do you, and the Drug Warriors And Their Pray book? I did look for a Pdf of the first book but I couldn't find it (apart from on amazon-Very pricey!). I'll have a quick search for the latter book now.
