Here's an update 14 days of bloom 1200ppm pH5.7. she is starting to show some dense flowers:dance013: nutes are lower because my hanna "primo" is not so primo and the on off cal button is f-ed up; I have to push it 10-50 times to turn it on and cant calibrate the damn thing. But a new one is at the hydro store wating. The lamp was switched to 1k Horilux hps this afternoon just before lights on. HPS photos suck I'll try agian at lights out.

Well walked into the room this morning and looked at the thermometer....and almost shit it's 93 the high was 96! temps were 72 in the buckets That hotilux HPS lamp is HOT! definitely some signs of heat stress so I'm going to add another fan and drop temps back to the high 70's low 80's. my new room is almost done so soon I can remove my grow/bloom partition and solve the problems. all and all the big bubba is still doing well and starting to frost up nicely.

Thanks for the kind words, the lamp is in a coolable hood but I'ts not set up to cool. Temps with the 1k MH were fine but the horilux is really a lot hotter. It doesn't help that the canopy now takes up most of the space in the room. More fans should mix the air up better and keep temps reasonable.
Cheers,

Just a quick up date at 18days flowering 5'9" and she looks to be topping out in height. Getting nice and frosty and recovering from the bad burn...I bought a new ec/tds meter the other day and I quickly realized my old meter was crap.. I had been at 2.9ec and she got toasted a bit so the yield will suffer some but she still looks good. I added a fan and temps are back at 78-81 so perfect for week three. She is filling out nicely. I changed the res and added 7ml per gal floranova bloom and 1ml floralisious bloom per gallon ec 1.956 and she drank 3 gallons of nutes and looks much happier. Here are a few pics

gnood work, looking nice so far. my pre '98 bubba tree
foaf,

Thanks, I hope my results will be similar to your's that was one nice bubba kush. This is a fun plant to grow into a tree and I'm loving the hydroponic experience lots to learn tho... different than perlite and moss or dirt better in some ways better; worse in others. My most important lessons learned so far are if you see any sign of trouble change the res right then...and buy good gear that cheap shitty tds meter cost me more than the cost of a good one. Cheers.

hey highonmt
officially subscribed. I am glad you figured out your temp issue. I have never used hortilux bulbs, however, when i switched from my mh to hps........4 degree increase in temps.......still dialing that in...
thanks for the grow show...im here for the finish

  Wonderful bro! Week three is early enough to recover from any issues you had with e.c. The payoff should make you really happy! :) Keep up the hard work & keep it green!

Ok so the new 125$ ec/tds meter I just bought crapped the bed on day 3 great... so I brought it back to the hydro store to exchange and the little snot working told me that they would have to send it to the manufacturer for repairs about 30 days...I called bullshit and asked for my money back and got loads of attitude...so I went off on her and finally got to the owner who I know..and he acted like a punk ass but finally let me trade it...bad business no more money. So I got the new meter calibrated and tested my nutes...1500ppms!!!!shit that meter was a pos. fixed it but she still has little yellow tips on the last leaves she grew but doesn't seem too stressed. She is growing so fast it's amazing. Shes right at 6ft and starting to plump up nicely, lots of trics every where. Now we're running at 1.9 ec (for real) and pH 5.6 new growth looks great....pics soon.

hey, highonmt, just thought i'd drop by to say hello!

that's my kind of plant. i bet it's knockdown painkiller.

i've found that i can "steer" a grow with flora nova bloom using a tds meter only. ph is always stable.

nice looking plant. how does it yield?

delta9,

Thanks for dropping in. I LOVE your passive plant killer thread; I'm planning on setting a few up at a spring by my cabin this summer. This pheno of bubba is really well balanced and is the best pain killer strain I've tried. The reason being it doesn't knock you out just has a great body effect with a nice uppy feeling to it and as a bonus tastes delicious. I just ate another cinnamon roll I made with canna-oil from the 2 week lollipop trim and am feeling really good considering and no pain meds thank god! Floranova is really ph stable but in ro water the bloom takes some ph up due to it being pH4.2 at 1300ppm. but once set it stays there. This Bubba is a moderate yeilding pheno and I've never optimized it but vegging for 60days seems to have helped that ;is what my buddy(who I got the strain from) recommended, and it is really filling in well. With short(1-2wk) veg times in dirt an oz per plant is normal this looks to be much much better. The problem is this plant just doesn't stretch very much. The tree I'm growing right now is barely at 80% at the end of week three. But quality over quantity in this case...this is my favorite smoke. I'm currently waiting on clones of an old sugar kush pheno that is a big yeilder and has some really similar effects: I'm excited to try it out. At the same time I'll be getting godbud and blueberry kush and barneys g13haze...I think next grow will be a Soquick/teresa style hydroton recirc drip, just love the hydro experience so far

OK day 25 of flower and things are really starting to plump up nicely. There are trics forming every where and she is starting to stink up the basement really nicely. I've dropped ec to 1.7 and she is really eating some serious nutes. 3.8 gallons a night on average this week...well that does include the lil widows intake. The little white widow is really looking great and crystally especially considering she is now 4ft from the light. The room temps have stabilized at 78F humidity is low at 30% and dropping into the teens during vent cycles but the new room is sheetrocked and I'm taping and painting this week so all the problems of heat will be solved soon. You can see the burn on the leaves from my tds problems last week. My new meter is working fine so hopefully no more drama...HM

Got to work on the new system today. It is a recirculating drip system. 4gal square mayo buckets with 9" net pot lids. I had just gotten all the fittings squared away and was hooking up lines when I ran up stairs and left the door open which started a fight with my wife so I ran back downstairs all pissed off started to hook up another line and my foot knocked over a 5gal bucket of clean hydroton:microwave: I don't know if you've ever done this but it seems to have legs... it was f-ing every where. what a pain...oh it gets better as I'm crawling around going through my library of cuss words I stood up turned around and stepped on the outlet of my new res and cracked the damn thing so 10 gallons water starts pouring out all over the floor...I just shut the door and went and had few hits and some beers. I'm going skiing tomorrow morning so tomorrow night I'll clean up and try again then maybe transplant and post some pics:lightning:

Schrews,
Thanks man, the second photo is the white widow; you can see the bucket she is growing in. The bubba is looking better and better that last photo is a lower bud; it is shaded so my camera focused. I'll take some lights out photos soon. I got my room cleaned and the new system is running so transplant should be here sooon
