I've heard that most docs aren't really doing that anymore. Anything over 6 plants per patient is a grey area anyway even if you can still get a higher plant count recommendation.

i have heard the same thing.
i actually asked the first doctor that i saw about a higher plant count and he told me he isnt doing it anymore because it is a red flag.

the only thing a higher plant count letter will do is give you another thing to help support your affirmative defense, in an event that you get busted, it isnt 'needed'

i would also advise your friends to start getting things in medical records. i think the days of walking in, paying the $150 and walking out with a rec is going away soon. almost every new piece of legislation includes something to keep dispensaries from paying doc's to write recs. just something to think about.

green medicals is a "walk in, pay the money, get the card" type place.
it is where one of my patients got her card. either get there early or show up 30-45 mins before they close because there will be ~50-75 people there, even on weekdays.

it was $89 if you name them as your caregiver, $159 if you dont. +$90 for the state.

would you agree having a letter from a doc is better than not, if (god forbid) you have to appear in court?

I'm going to one of those in/out places Saturday but I've got medical records. It cost $3000 for a 5 minute cat scan for my headaches. Nobody would do that if not needed.
I think you're right, though...the days of walking in and out are numbered...probably should have never happened without some sort of records...

It's a doctor's note. No documentation should be necessary for a doctor in good standings to exercise his 1st amendment rights to write you a note.

This is one area where we cannot give up any ground. Give an inch and they will come back and try to take a mile.

just wanted to tell you guys that one of my friends went to Happy Clinic Denver today & was very impressed......very good doctor, & easy without records....said it was alittle busy but in and out within 1.5hr.

There seems to a lot of confusion about plant counts and doctor's recommendations. A while back, I saw a post from a grower, bragging that he was "100% legal" with 50 plants because a doctor wrote it on his certification form.

Read Amendment 20 to get an understanding of the protections afforded under the Amendment, the registry and the affirmative defense of medical neccessity.

speaking of misinterpretations.......what is with disp telling people if you sign us over as your caregiver you can still grow 6 plants?

any truth to this?....if you sign them as CG you can still carry 2oz, while they use ur name to carry 2oz themselves.

Isnt the point of signing over a caregiver giving them your plants? & an extra 2oz to keep on the shelf?

How does this work? do you really get 12 plants(6 to give away) & 4oz of meds(2oz to give away)?????

Just make sure you screw them over and send in change of care giver form and sign yourself back as primary care giver.

the 2 oz part is a loophole for the most part.
the plant count thing is 6 plants total,
here is an email i got from the registry:

Dear xxxxxxxxxx:

The exemption of six plants applies to a combination of what the patient and the care-giver have in their possession at any point in time. For example, if the patient has two plants, then their care-giver may have up to four plants (2 + 4 = 6).

Word. I can't believe the state doesn't notify caregivers when patients change/drop. Seems like that could/should be an affirmative defense also. Contracts, contracts, contracts.

I just read you change the caregiver to NONE on the form, mail it in, then notify your ex-caregiver. However, it's best to get your card without giving up caregiver rights in the first place. This way, everybody's on the same page to begin with and nobody has to be notified.

I should have clarified... that was meant for the people that felt like they were taken advantage of when signing up for their cards.
Some places said "here we will be your caregiver and make sure your taken care of." And then never follow through with quality meds or prices are just as high as anyplace else.
and all you did was lose your right to grow.

Then again why would you screw anyone over that is "truly" helping you?
Someone that is your "caregiver" not your drug dealer..
