TBL, I think if you take a fat strong SLH stinky male and let it flower then collect the pollen & use a fine tip paint brush to "paint" on the collected pollen onto some of your Cheese buds around 3 or 4 weeks into flower, or vice versa, you will have your cross. But I'm no expert.

@ Think Green. Thats what i thought. Just grow the seeds from that & keep the best one. But then i start reading about f2`s & f3`s & back crossing. My 1st try at my own seeds was from pollen collected from a female Purple Wreck that i put on a loverly LA Confidential female i found in a gram i bought from the Abraxa`s coffee shop. I knew pollen from a female plant isnt the best to use, but apart from the purple wreck throwing out a few nana`s it was perfect so i wanted to see what a PW/LA cross would turn out like, but the police busted me about 2 weeks from harvest.

I have a little plant that was falling behind the others. It like all my other plants were cross pollnated with Q-Tips. This one was small and full of seeds and THC and no new flowers or growth even on the top it was this way for two or three weeks. I'm guessing that it has finished up the seed production and finally has turned back to flowering again, the last three days now it's really taken off and is catching up with the others, it's covered with new purple flowers now (Sweet!) and even has new growth down under where the old fan leaves have been long gone. It's even got me thinking that it mite even end up being the biggest and best one of all the others yet. and It smells very skunky. YO HO HO! and a Big Fat Doobie! :joint:

They should be ready very soon they're still a little green and large. What do you think? Pick'em or wait a little?

How do YOU guys PERSONALLY bloom your male plants...what Im saying is,you put the plants in flower with 12/12..I do with my 2 40O HPS lights..and then most people, including myself, kill the males to make enough room for the females...

However, next seed run,Im planning on making some seeds with my best male, and best female, but where and under what light should I finished blooming the males..sincem I dont want the males taking up my females space under the HPS...

1.How strong of a light,do male plants need to properly bloom and give sufficient pollen? Can they bloom under window light,cfl's...or my t5?Do they need strong light like females?

2.Do plants turn hermie like females?...Do they aslo need light proof dark cycles?..Can they do fine just under the windowsill..with all my living room lights on during their dark cycle?

3.How fast do the pollen sacks grow from the day their preflowers?

1. Use a cfl about 25w(=to 75wincandesent) orange in color. 12/12 lighting for pollen.

2.It is better to have light proof darkcycles but remember the moon is a light source(light reflecting off the sun). THe lights can be on if they are incandescent since plants dont use that type of light it might not effect them!

3.fast I have had them be preflowers and then before 24h they were open sacks so anywhre from 12h-72h.

wow... havent read this thread before. Your time spent is greatly appreciated glasspacked. Im somewhat familiar with Mendel and am actually in the process of doing my first crosses (blue satelliteXhashberry) and (lemon skunkXhashberry). Im gonna do some more learning on my own but I may need some pointers when I get to crossing back. Eventually, Im gonna cross these two crosses and pull certain traits. How many generations does it take before you can be confident you have stabilized your hybrid?

I'm a little new so hope this doesn't seem too stupid of a question. I bought 12 seeds of what was supposed to be a killer strain but only 2 of them germed. One turned male, the other still has yet to show sex. With the male, I was gonna take the pollen and breed it to the other if it turns female or to one of my other indica strains. Just recently said male started throwing out some purple pistil hairs so I'm pretty sure it's goin' hermy. Question is this--In order to preserve this strain can I use the only available pollen from a hermie then back the hermie traits out through successive selection of more stable offspring from the next generations?
