Here's my latest harvest. These got chopped early sunday morning, right after these pics were taken. No weights yet as they're still drying.

Serious AK47 (original seed from circa 2004)

For those who care to know, these were grown in a 17"x17"x23" space (2.01 sq ft) in individual 17oz containers and flowered for about 65 days under four 42w 2700k CFLs and two 42w 6500k CFLs (total 252w).

Anti , those look really good. How come they were flowered so long? Just the strain or ?

I was baked when I posted that. My bad. They were flowered for sixty-five to sixty-seven days or so. (9.5ish weeks.)

I went 9 weeks last time and was really happy with the results. But I waited a few extra days to let a little more amber show under the 300x and see how that tweaks things.

Nice pics Anti, I have always admired your cab and the real great detail you went to. 9 weeks is pretty good. I have 2 girls now that are going to be at 8 weeks this Wednesday. One of em looks like she will be about 10 weeks. The other is a real sativa lookin hooker who looks like she'll be maybe 12 weeks.

is it worth spending 80$-100$ on a 200 watt 8u CFL?

Pretty much im askin if its better to buy 8 smaller lets say 30watt CFls or just spending some good $ and getting one or 2. "i just need a few to add to the Aerogarden

just depends on what you want! there hella big. if you dont have much space stick to like 26w but if you got room go for the 5u or 8u if you can afford them. they get a lot warmer than you think so keep that in mine with your ventilation

I think you're better off with several smaller ones, spaced in a grid above your growing area. This provides you with multiple light sources and allows for more adequate coverage of your area. I wouldn't recommend going above 2ft high though unless you like really long stalks.

I run six 42w (252w) and this allows me to mix spectrums and allows for more even penetration of the canopy. An additional benefit is that my box is small, so any plant in the box is growing almost entirely within 12" from most if not all of the light sources.

I wouldn't recommend anyone try to grow trees with CFLs. I'd stick to little bushes and 'plantlets'.

ive got the 105w 5u cfls and the are bright yo. it hurts to look at them! lol

That's quality work there! I can't believe you haven't painted it yet! Mylar or flat white paint are 90% reflective and will make the most of those lights. In a small space like that, lights that big can probably do a great job, but why not make the most of 'em?

Kudos.

Also, thanks for all the nice compliments in the last few posts, everybody. I'll let my model know she has admirers.

Hello boys 'n' girls,

I would love to join your club.

I am about to finish my first grow using 205 watts of CFL (125w 2700K + 35w 5000K + 45w 5000K). Wish I had more light, but other than that I really think CFLs are the way to go when growing for personal use only. No need for monster yields.

I don't have pictures at the moment, but I've got 4 Hempy Buckets in a 2m x 1m (do the conversion yourself with your silly foots and pounds system) closet and one of them is about to finish (after 10 weeks of flowering that frikin' sativa) so maybe I'll share a photo later.

Keep it real.
