The start of this was started in journals when I intended to start it here. :joint: I'm going to continue this in here from here forward and not in my journal.

This will be my second grow with Hydro-Grow Led's. My first is in week 5 (now day 40) of flowering and was my first grow completely. That journal was started on another site, where I will finish it, but I will also post my Friday update pictures in with this journal. I'm not going to go back and re-post the start of that grow, but I had plenty of first timer mistakes and still expect a decent yield. The biggest one is turning out to be the pots I picked. I will NOT use 5 gals again.

Tent 1 -
week 5 (Now day 40) of flowering. 3 strains. 1 - Wonder Woman , 1 Blackberry and 1 - LA Woman all plants where topped during veg. The LAW was under cfl's for about 2 weeks of veg, the other 2 LED all but when they were sprouts. The LAW stretched a lot more than I expected going from 8" at the start of 12/12 to almost 34". I added a second 126w to that tent which is sitting over the LAW only. The other 2 plants split the 1st 126w. Anyone who wants to go back and read the whole journal I can give them the link. Harvest starts around the first week of Jan through the end of the month.

Tent 2 -

Secret Jardin DR150
Strains - 2 - Wonder Woman , 2 - Cream Carmel
Light - will start veg with 1 - 126w and add a second 126w a few weeks later.
medium - soil
Container - 3 gal. smart pots
Foxfarm nutes

I'll be germinating seeds for this tent this weekend as I expect the new LED early next week.

Today's update which was posted last night:

I've been battling ph problems (and a few other problems) and let it get high again. I'm adding ph down to my water only feedings trying to lower it.

great to see this, Hank!!

do you like the light?

any tips?

Sleepy, I love the light. I started with one. Added a second. And just ordered a third for a new tent. That should say enough. lol

The only tip I can share is one I talked with someone else about. During Veg you can basically dictate how you'd like the plant to grow by raising and lowering the light. I've had the light as close as 3" above the plant tops and the plants just grew out, not up. I raised it to 10" and they started growing up.

And from what I can gather from watching other grows, you will have to water them less. I switched to smartpots the second grow to try to offset this.

Thanks botanist. The closer we get the more excited I get. My runt, the Wonder Woman should finish first sometime the first week of the year.

Hank, I just got my 126w on Friday and a 2x4 tent yesterday. What type of exaust fan do you utilize in your tent if any? I'm finding that my 6in on low just has too much negative pressure and I'd like to get into something quieter if possible.

For the first grow I didn't. I'm planning on adding something small later with a carbon filter for smell. I haven't really gotten around to looking at how small of one I can go with.

Update time -

Tent 2 has beans in dirt. Soaked seeds for 14 hours in water. Put seeds in dirt on Monday night. Actually got 5 sprouts out of 4 seeds yesterday. At least that's what it looks like to me. If anyone knows better I'd love to hear it.

Tent 1 - Battled to get my ph down still this week. The ladies are holding up well. There's a little stress still on top, and some damage left over underneath. The Blackberry looks yummy with tricomes galore. The LAW is filling out her buds more again this week. Enjoy the pics.

did a looksee at these lights your using, i just want to know what difference the 60 and 30 degree viewing angles has on the plants. im assuming the 30 is more intense but has a smaller foot print and the opposite for the 60. which would you recommend?

I apologize to any of you who have been waiting for me to update this journal. I've chosen to not to update this journal any longer on this site. No offense to the mods on this site who I have no gotten to get to know. I came to ICMag specifically because it was where LEDgirl aka Hydro Grow LED moved her postings. I believed for awhile that all her talk was 100% legit. I am slowly finding out that is not the case. She has anyone on this site banned or kicked off for posting. Her quote "Continued posting of information without evidence to back up your claims (like the 50W HID or 40W LED thing I just deleted), will end up in your suspension from this forum." from another thread. Would a mod or anyone please show me "evidence" that her lights, that have been for sale for more than 6 months, produce what she says they produce? I'm not talking about her grow with 1500w+. But a single grow across any forum where 1 - 126w unit (or any combination of units and sizes) produced the same results as a 400w HPS. That would be 3.15g/w using 1g/w for the HPS. I'd like to remain a member here but how my posts today are treated will determine that.

I posted the following in irishboys journal and copied it here in case LEDgirl deletes it. I want at least one mod outside her to see what I have to say.

Continued posting of information without evidence to back up your claims (like the 50W HID or 40W LED thing I just deleted), will end up in your suspension from this forum.

Do the same rules apply for sponsors? Still looking for a grow that shows a 126w = 400w HPS.

Also I remember you being ULTRA confident that 1 - 126w would destroy 1 - 180w prosource. I can find the post if you'd like.

It works. Every one of her customers has had a great success.

Define great success? Your results were about .89 g/w Is that great success for a $400+ light?

what have you been looking at. i've looked at all the links of the grows and in all honesty the word on the others sites is quite to the contrary. i'm interested but, i've found more negative feedback than positive. not trying to be negative but, this is what i've found. they seem to produce some buds and that's great but,

^^^^^^^^^^

To my knowledge we have 1 unhappy customer who goes by Warbux, and a second who is possibly unhappy that goes by scumbragger/ledtester. LEDtester performed a grow using 3 x 126W panels over an area which I recommended 4. According to his grow journal, he also did a bit too much pruning on the LED plants at 3-4 weeks in bloom, resulting in stunted growth from there-on out. Until he does a grow where all variables are equal between the two sides (including temperature), it will be hard to view his experiments as conclusive.

Funny his journal specifically says YOU told him to prune the fan leaves. I've also seen you recommend that in other threads where others have said not to. People can read the journal for themselves if they are interested.

As per Warbux, he's just pissed to be pissed. He received his lights in a snap, and then waited several weeks to get an aero unit that I was waiting on parts for (of which he was informed). He was refunded for items he changed his mind on, and sent extra items over and above what he paid for as a nice gesture from our company. His impatience and inability to adhere to our company's policies, have resulted in him becoming angry and aggressive towards us, spreading twisted and misleading information on the web wherever he is allowed. If you can show me more than either one of these two who are unhappy with their grows, please bring it to my attention.

Funny I've talked to him since before he went on the warpath and he tells a very different story that hasn't changed from the beginning. I won't speak for warbux he has enough posts for people to see.

These individuals account for 2 testers in a sea of hundreds. We have tons of repeat customers, and the biggest majority of people growing with our product online express their happiness with our products. Most of them rate our products very high and would never go back to HID growing. On the whole though, the VAST majority of our customers are happy and posting good reviews. Please don't overlook the hoards of happy journals because of 1 that was inconclusive, or 1 pissed off customer who doesn't like to follow our policies.

You can make me 3. You ask more of everyone else than you give. Show me an independent grow that gets your results? Ok, forget that let's make it easier. How bout one that shows the results you refer to on your website? I'm guessing it's just a coincidence that your new model comes out just as your old one, which you said would beat a 180w, loses to said light. Oh, and it doesn't stop at 3. Trust me.

Well i Could look here oooor my garden, and trust me my garden looks/produces alot better than some of the 400-600w hps grows ive seen.

Also the lights arent even exspensive lol!! there some of the cheapest in the market!! Every light I buy will pay for itself in 1 grow..

try wraapping that thick melon of yours around that!

Cammie must have you on the payroll, I watched you defend her with no evidence elsewhere before now.

Let's go over some facts here. You produced about .89g/w. I'll handicap your side and say 1g/w. Now what would a 400w HPS have to produce to get your yield? .31 g/w (.28 w/o the handicap) You've seen HPS grows that bad huh? And you rely on the results? Tell me your joking right? What would the growers on this site consider an average result for a 400w HPS? .5g/w? .75g/w? How bout cfl's which cost a whole lot less?

"try wraapping that thick melon of yours around that!"

Notice no evidence to back it up and not banned. Funny how that works.

If I get banned for these comments so be it. Her attitude gets old when her product doesn't back up her talk. There are facts and "evidence" to back up everything I've said in this posts unlike what LEDgirl says.

So what happened Hank Moody? You came on to this site with all sorts of enthusiasm and showing off good grows, nice buds, and all of a sudden you're slamming LEDGirl with the same old suspicious meanderings others have been trying to undermine her credibility with...we thought you were a happy customer, and now this?

It seems obvious to me that some growers are better than others, and as a noted Grow Author told me once, 'some people grow because they can't get along with people, only plants.'

And that explains a lot of the grumpy statements being made I think, not everyone is going to get the top yields and best buds. There are always differences in grow techniques, nutrients, heat, humidity; a vast array of things that make up how plants grow which is actually a complicated, delicate balance of factors sometimes beyond even the best informed grower's control.

So in general I think the evidence points overwhelmingly towards LED lights being the next generation lighting system of choice, particularly for small and medium scale medical cannabis growers. How about vegetables?

Geeesh, now I have to go smoke some more Pluto and get over this foul taste in my brain.

I hear ya Payaso. The last Hank talks about his grow is when he's got the PH all messed with his plants. Not one post after that. I think that speaks for itself. The plants were actually looking good before he got the PH problem.
