i was under the impression that mmar card holder where under police harassment , maybe its a matter of jurisdiction and mentality. here in my province we deal with some total bs from what ive heard and they will do whatever they can to get you .

technically im preparing myself to the worst , so i will be in harmony with the freaking law . so if the cops want to screw with me i will have a clean record and a strong point that im a good canadian citizen who respect the law .

i will also decorate my grow place with my mmar paper and a huge canadian flag for real so if the provincial police try to screw me they will realise the fact they are the one messing with canadian federal law that is way above their ticket giving donut eating daily provincial jurisdiction task . the symbol of our country should speak louder than everything .

how can health canada denied people with a 5 grams prescription when they gave a 60 grams prescription to a 60 years old man who weight 100 pounds wet

292 fucking plants.....people ask for 25 plants including clones and this old dude get 60 g and 292 plants ????????

hope this decision will impact the 3 grams a days policy recently instated by hc ?

I should clarify that the forms were signed by a specialist in Toronto while there for the holidays, although I have spoken to a few doctors out here in BC who also support my use.

Genetics shouldn't be too big of an issue but I now must start the tricky game of finding someone who would like to be my designated grower, as I do not have the time or space to take advantage of the grow licence.

Okay Mr Noddle it's all good and yes your experience is exactly like everyone I know here in BC.Try not to let the pain cloud your willingness to continue looking for help. Although I really like DMT's idea it has not worked for me and many many others that are infact catagory 1 or even 2.. I have been frank and straightforward with plenty of Dr.'s and got nowhere. Perhaps your stories are a bit different in that you are able to give up your other meds. I am not able to do this neither is most of the ppl I know that need this. I shouldn't have to give up my meds to take cannabis. No matter what anyone thinks your going to have to find a Dr. that already does this and pled your case to him and hope for the best. I suppose it does come down to a case by case basis but I disagree about needing to find a doctor who is already involved with the mmar program. My specialist had never had a patient who uses medical marijuana and had never heard of the mmar program. I had to educate him completely about the way I use herb, how it works on my body, how the MMAR program works...but when it came down to the bottom line there was no way he could tell me eating a plant was more dangerous then a life of opiate addiction.

In regards to designated growers, I have taken a look at the conventional websites offering such services, but I have heard many negative things associated with these services and would much rather make a connection with someone on a more personal basis. I invite anyone interested in becoming a designated grower who lives on vancouver island (victoria ideally) to drop me an email at [email protected]

I am good friends with the fellow who runs www.medicalmarihuana.ca, if you are looking for excellent medicine I would love to get you in contact with him, he's located in victoria and 100% legal. He's a good guy and it beats going to the compassion clubs or waiting 3 or 4 months for your first crop.

I would jump at the offer to be a designated grower but I believe you have to be growing
for more than one patient, and I am about to go travelling for a few months.

Not the case, I think you are remembering it backwards. AFAIK there is a limit of 2 patients per designated grower, although it is the norm that a designated grower produce for an individual patient.

It is definetely not the case that there is a requirement that a designated grower must produce for more than one patient

ive talked to health canada and they said no one, not even police are allowed in your house and or grow space.

she said to give them your papers and tell them to call hc, or get a lawyer and tell them to call them.

never open your door to police men. you have the right to be in your home in peace.

no judge in canada will sign a search warrant to investigate a medical grow.

I agree completely.
The city where I'm from has only 2 gastro-intestinal specialist. I waited almost 9 months to see the first one, when I asked him about the forms, he simply laughed at me.
Was refered to the other, after another long wait, I find out that he had never prescribed cannabis before. But once I brought in all my printed out info along with heath Canada links and phone numbers. We had a nice long chat, and only after he contacted HC to confirm everthing, he was more than happy to sign.
I believe a lot of the problems people are having, is the Dr's not being informed...

Okay I will have to say to you guys that your meeting the right Dr.'s I have not seen one Dr. that believes in any way ,shape or form in prescribing cannabis. All the Dr.'s that I have seen and so many others have been laughed at even with the info in hand. Not tring to rain on anyone parade but you guys are wrong atleast in all I have seen and so many others I know personally. I can't tell you how many times I have had this conversation in the clubs. I don't disagree that the system is flawed, it is. I first heard about the program back in late 06, and just now found a Dr that was willing. Maybe I didn't express myself correctly?
People shouldn't have to wait this long for any prescription. I know many people that are having a hard time finding a Dr, but the fact remains people are finding them.
Don't let it get you down bro, stay persistant you'll surely come into contact with one of them.

doctors need to be informed big time, remember they believe stone aged medicine is the be all of medicine school, and they are so caught up in the egocentricity if being doctors they rarely spend any time actually believing plants can benefit humanity, thats how warped our educational system is.
