hey chak-ra - looking great. i love to see people pushing the boundaries :)

i just finished a 16 week sativa in my small cab - cant wait to see if you manage to finish this one. if your canopy is really crowded then you might consider comletely removing some of the weeker shoots to make room for the stronger ones - once it has topped out that is. i also wouldnt remove too many leaves as i think the plant just tries to grow more.

i'm hooked into this grow

good luck

Hi man!

Thx for the compliments.Yeah, I already removed several shoots that were a bit on the highside... but it were only about 4-5 or so... but that happend 4 weeks ago ;). I've attached every shoot to the scrognet :)

As for the question about the lighting-period. I'm not going to change to 11/13 just yet... Perhaps the final weeks or so :) But we've still got a long way to go :)

Cheers

Hi guys!

Here's a little update from the colombians :)

I've exterminated one because of her not willing to flower. The time difference between the two was already more than a month. But, as you can see, it makes little difference. Once lady will suffice ;)

I'm very curious about the yield! Bet it's gonna be more than 50g :)

Picture time!

So these equatorial strains will grow big even without any veg period. I grew an indica 12/12 from seed and it didn't even really have side shoots or get more than a foot tall... ended up being one big bud in the 15-20 g range. That's a nice little tree chak-ra, looks mighty healthy!

thx man. Yeah, pure sativa landraces tend to have a stretch of over 4x their size. I cut the main shoot out when she was at the 6th internode. Now, there are already more than 10 main cola's. And the internodes reach up to +25 on some shoots. The distance however between the internodes is more indica-like (short!). I think it's because she recieved a hell of a lot of blue light the first 3,5 weeks she was alive.
This is a good thing so all the cola's will be in one piece eventually. But we'll see. There's still plenty of time for shit to go wrong :p .
Her leaves are a really dark green as u can see. I DONT USE ANY FERTS!
I'm actually hoping some leaves to turn a bit yellow soon... because she looks like a friggin robot!
If I wouldn't have used the scrog-method, she would be more than 1.20m already! So i'm glad I can tie her down! :elf:

'nuff said :)

man, that just fucking rocks!

Any advice on haze x skunk? I have a seedling going, and in case it is female I want to be ready. At what height should I flip to 12/12?

Grow looks good.

I'm new here and found this thread when trying to find info on my grow. I have an unknown strain going on 14 weeks flowering. When I saw your plant I couldn't beleive it. Looks just like mine, and I couldn't figure out why its been flowering forever. I gave up waiting for it to finish and accepted the fact that it will be a while before its done. Flowering was started in the beginning of October.

Heres some pictures if anyone is interested. 3, 7, 13 weeks into flower. This little girl has been through a hell of a lot.

p.s. shout out to any grow report guys on here.

Im not positive on any of the following information, just things I've heard:

When you cut off leaves or stems from the plant, in veg or flower, it notices that it was cut off and produces hormones that tell the plant to grow more leaves/stems. The reason people say do not cut off leaves while flowering is because it slows the flower production down. I think it does that because it needs to use energy to fix the problem, and also because of the hormone released it will devote its energy to growing more vegetation until that hormone is gone. When in vegetative stage, topping plants, or pruning off certain areas will give certain results. Prune off the top, the bottom branches grow larger, prune off those and the main stem shoots up. Plants operate very simply and primitively, only using a few different hormones to react to their environments.

I have also read that when entering flowering, plants tend to stretch, especially sativa's for the first few weeks, 2-3, but even longer for some. After this stage, they will back off the stretching, and if you can avoid cutting anything after this point, it wont really change much in height, only in thickness of the fruit and the frosty coating.

Other things I have read: If you give plant 24-36 hours of darkness before inducing flowering, it will make sure the plant understands its DONE vegging, and it will get over that stretching phase faster. Giving your plant a low Nitrogen (first part of N - P - K) nutrient solution, will make sure it grows mostly buds and doesnt stretch, as the Nitrogen is used mainly for leaf/stem growth. Usually near the end of flowering, the fan leaves near the buds will turn yellow as a result of the low nitrogen, showing that its using up all the available nitrogen, right on the line.

paper on reasons against/for removing fan leaves

Also, training it early on is the best bet. I had a supposed 6 foot monster sativa. In its young life, it was subjected to LST and topping, and then above mentioned other methods. While flowering, just more LST to create an even SOG canopy. Managed to keep it 1 1/2 feet tall, and has like 15-20 equally sized tops. I had 2 actually, and one was somewhat of a mutant, so I used it to experiment. I cut the tiny new branches and lower leaves off 3 weeks into flower and I noticed it grew 2-3 inches closer to light overnight, even though it was already rather close to begin with. I avoided doing any cutting on the other, and it basically stays the exact same size now, the only thing that grows is the thickness.

great guide to training

It nice to see another microgrow using a true sativa. Unfortunately i'm only running one true sativa since i was limited on seed stock when starting. I'm lucky i started flowering when i did and for having a SCROG setup. I hope you can get a yield like your talking about because my plant is about the same size as the fast growing one of yours. These sativas are really great things for microgrows i believe because if your a dedicated scrogger who doesnt mind all the time consuming weaving youll benefit from the nice soaring high only seen in true sativas.

Good luck and keep her green, or better yet gold...
