Contracts for delivery is not the way you presented it. Yes, RJR needs a steady supply of tobacco and contracts for it. This does not mean they own the farms, or control them.

People have such silly thoughts about the way corporations work.

I didn't say they owned them, at least the ones in North Carolina, but they do exactly as RJR tells them, you can believe that.

The contract is you do this, this, and that or pay fines by the amount our bean counters say we would have lost. by the second.

Ever had a contract for Fortune Global 500 company?

I have...and it held the #1 spot.

If you think all the big guys don't have their eyes glued to cannabis, I'd venture that your dead wrong.

Its just simple math. Besides all the data that's already available saying they've been planning for a long time.

Keep in mind, I am talking about some of the Breeders here...and others that are true Growers/Scientists-- There is some real talent here...but yeah...not for (Ima be nice) 95% of us here--

ta KmK420Kali.

my post wasnt directed at you exactly your post slipped in just before mine but we are on the same topic atleast:xmasnut:.
I understand we have good breeders, growers and simlply highly skilled inderviduals here and offline.. I guess i could have worded it better but basicly i think if legalised more peeps will grow there own which has pros and cons for the current canna community.

semi legalisation here in OZ Killed off the bush cropping industry of the 90s or atleast made alot of people go indoors, i dont know what the nail in the coffin was but it was related to law changes..
Could be as simple as more bud per m2 per year.

If weed was legal tomorrow there would be rolling changes, more smokers so we would need more growers but i dont think WE HERE will ever go full medical for any Joe Blog with anxiety (although its just started in Ninbin for the very sick) My Drs are pro weed, next year im starting on a toxic med 3months to 6months wont be able to work and apparently its like chemo but milder .

cautions for low personal plant numbers would be the first step and enough for me at this point. Let the extra use dis prove the gov shit (the stoners will turn on the old and rob you before pressing the red button!)LoL
then take steps from there to ensure the peoples chosen law cant be reversed soon as another government moves in.. The people spoke back in 2000 1/3 population smoke at some, 1/3 teems smoked in the last 3 months thats alot of people that dont see weed as the issue its made out tobe.

Id still want a good variation of unmolested genes so there would still be a strong climate for Seed companys and all that goes with glass, shirts, so on im guessing there would a shift from how we and what we grow from todays fast growing high yielders SOG might give way to higher quality plants grown naturally outdoors and even idoors but allowed to go full term 16wks with some bush.

I know if i was able to grow 100+ seedlings my hunt for keepers would be made easier. and if i was able to keep mothers in numbers like any other plant grower it wouldnt take long for there to be a huge readily avaliable clone genes in everyones local town..

I post here so when it is legal i will already have mad rep ha ha ha

Hell Yah, i would still be here. I do this because i enjoy it. And i come here to learn. If/When we legalize i damn sure am not buying Marlboro joints. Or Newport Menthol joints. There is nothing more rewarding then smoking you're own homegrown.

and i am a memeber of a beer forum :D

Happy Holidays

I'd still hang out. The climb for us, is this. Knowing who was on your side during the grind-and that excludes douchebag for-profit assholes who probably don't even smoke(and unfortunately a few hang here).
I literally grew up on Overgrow, Planetganja, icmag, et al. When I was a teen in Nowhere, Midwest I had no other people in my life who experienced the world in a way similar to me. The only people that smoked in high school were wiggers and unintelligent losers trying to escape daddy problems. I felt like I was the only person in the world who had his shit together to some degree and still wanted to experience strange, alternative perspectives.

Stop bitching about certain commercial growers on this site. If you don't like them that's fine, but it's annoying to see you hating on people post after post saying the same shit - and it's completely irrelevant in this thread.

There's nothing wrong with making a living growing this plant, I applaud anyone that works for themselves and isn't part of the bureaucratic machine.

Why do so many people thin RJR and Altria are farmers? They don't farm tobacco, they buy it and package it. So the answer is no, they wouldn't be able to produce cannabis of any kind, high grade, low grade, or no grade. Now, could they buy it from people who know what they're doing and package it? Sure, why not?

Smoking isn't likely to survive long if it gets legalized anyway. Once it's cheap enough to mass produce edibles will likely be the most common form of ingestion.

What evidence is there that legalization would affect the common mode of ingestion? They are completely different highs, smoking will always be huge even if edibles gain popularity.

Many people would assume I'm an anti social person, but the truth is I'm just very picky about the company I keep. ICMAG makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside probably more than it is healthy to. Usually an anonymous online forums bring out the worst in people, but here things are different and there isn't even nazi moderation. It just makes me blue to think that we are suppose to be bad guy criminals when nothing could be farther from the truth.

Well I am here to learn as others mentioned they are.
So I would still read here to learn, probably because I would let things get big real quick if it were "legal worldwide"

The opportunity for clone and genetics trading through a place like this in a legal world would be amazing.

Ah, if only.

i asked a buddy of mine (smoker, not grower) last night if he'd start growing if it became legal, and he basically laughed in my face! and used the "beer argument" on me.. He says "why would i take the time to grow it if i can just go to walmart and buy a big box of it?" the same reason he doesn't brew his own beer...

I think the growers are always gonna grow :joint: but dumb people like him will always take the 'easy route' lol. i'm just kidding, i don't think his way of thinking is WRONG! in fact, its a good thing that "most" (imo) would rather somebody grow it for them... can you say job security??

With friends ALL over the Globe, uuuuuuuuuuummmmm Im not sure where else Id get this opportunity. I once "about 12 years ago" had the idea of establishing an on-line site myself, I was gonna call it, "The Cannabis Cyber Cafe". I often wonder----"What If"

Anyway--IC MAG has been in my favorites since the door opened......And will be..:jump::jump::jump::jump::jump::jump:

So hypothetically, if cannabis was legalized worldwide overnight, what would happen to icmag?

would we all still come here and show our setups? granted, much bigger, and maybe showing faces/locations

would there still be even half as many seedbanks? or would there be stores to buy your seeds and clones and stuff in?

would you guys still grow/post on here? or would you just go to the store and buy your weed and play video games/watch tv instead? :xmasnut:

just wondering!

1. So hypothetically, if cannabis was legalized worldwide overnight, what would happen to icmag?

=Icmag would suffer some donation loses.

2.would we all still come here and show our setups? granted, much bigger, and maybe showing faces/locations

= If no restriction..revenue taxes..regulations..then yes..grow an show!!

3. would there still be even half as many seedbanks? or would there be stores to buy your seeds and clones and stuff in?

== If total legal..why yes overnight explosion of seedcomany's.

4.would you guys still grow/post on here? or would you just go to the store and buy your weed and play video games/watch tv instead?

==Id go to my pharmacy under an insured plan and get sativex!

and of course...KEEP MY ROAD KILL SKUNK CUT!

I have my doubts about it getting legalized here
If legal
IC Mag would take off with new member's new found freedom .
They'd all be looking to grow the best or cheapest , the stealth grow section would go by the wayside i reckon .
No more not tell anyone = rule # 1 , it would be strange indeed .

I had exactly the same experience growing up, but it was 20 years ago and the internet didn't exist. I read books and took long walks instead, it was boring.
