Merry Christmas and thanks for stopping in.
Sorry to end my update so ubruptly but i had to get my butt on the road for a long drive! It got real long and i endd up with some stories from it
The girls will go two mopre weeks I suppose. I'm thinking we will be seeing some purples on a few of these by the end. most of the side buds and lowers on the Gf's are getting pretty substantial and quickly too. This GF FLy has some big flower potential for sure. My rootballs dont even have roots wrapping or all over the place in the surface of the soil. If they will flower like this, with poor roots; done right, the colas would be huge methinks.
Here are the rest of the Grapfruit Fly pics:

Not only is this girl frosty, she smells the finest of the bunch so far:
Happy Holidays!
Wow! I'm in teeny one room shack in the woods in a snowstorm and I just heard a tree fall outside! Very white christmas here

Yup! last update was stretched out aways so this one is a bit early as the Grapefruit Fly's are on day 57 of flower and almost out of time.
Pics were taken yesterday, 12/28.
the second plant shown with large pea-like calyxes reminds me of hte structure of the mom
Thats all for now folks. The girls got a large flush before the pics and should finish up for the most part soon.

Hell Yes!!! That's what I'm talkin' about! Fukin' GORGEOUS BRO!! How's the smell on those Fine ladies??? Looks like they will yield quite large... Have you sampled the any yet? You are in for a treat! 57 days only-- WOW!
hey RM, i snagged 3 packs of the grapefruit fly after seeing your gals. glad i could get in on this one. can't wait for your smoke report on the grapefruit. you rocked these, dude. i bet its some excellent smoke. look like yielders too.
Good call Thinman! These plants are very easy to grow with great results and if grown properly will yield big. These plants had poor rooot growth from the first uppot into 1 1/2 gallon containers. I mixed the soil too heavy thinking i might stay in those pots and they suffered for it. i pulled one out of its pot yesterday and roots are just hitting the surface now. With a lighter mix I would have had much better results. Even said, these plants are frostilicious and have big dense to very dense buds. Scents are mild to medium but all very pleasant. I havent gotten any strong grapefruit notes on any of these so far more of a fresh clean lightly sweet scent on the best of them. i've gotten scents hinting of grapefruit, lemongrass and green tea.
I've had a cold as of late too, so I may change my tune come smoke report time which will be sooner than expected. All of the plants are showing amber from 5-30% top to bottom and the buds have filled and hardened up. These were done for my tastes in 8 weeks.
They'll be coming down in the next few days. If anyone would like more pics or certain types of pics let me know and i'll try and get them before the chop.
I must mention i broke a taboo to test these girls a bit. This last week they havent been in 12/12. I decided to see if they would stress and throw late nanners by breaking the dark cycle.
No nanners, still a bunch of stable Mabel's safe and likely welcome in most any stable!
As i mentioned, if anyone wants any more pics whether trich shots or plant profiles, etc... let me know.
I will make a concerted effort to give a scent description of the plants before its all said and done as i havent touched on this aspect much in the thread. I'll try and get a smoke report done by another person as well for a more objective report.
Happy New Year everyone!
Mosca, thanks for the chance to run these and i wish you a safe and prosperous 2010!

Great update RM, Both Mel and i like your description of Grapefruit, LemmonGrass and Green Tea we both think that would be a good flavor cant wait for the smoke report
Thanks
Shaun
THanks, I got a few more pics taken before they said goodbye.
They are all dried down now and seeing alot of my bong lately.
Though the plants seemed to have went in several directions with growth and bud habit the smoke is proving to be uniform in flavor and effect. It is very sweet and keeps reminding me a bit of strawberry diesel somehow in that its very sweet but somewhere in there, a dankness resides. the sweetness really hangs in your mouth, this herb is getting me lit and smokes really tasty, thanks Mosca!
Thats not my smoke report, but I thought I oughta give an idea of it.
Yup, lit! Heres some pics:
oh retardo, you just made me drool that shot is so beautiful, awesome work man.
reminds me a lot of my delta9 with that purple complexion and calyx shape.
i think i will now put my grapefly seeds into soil. i have no choice when i see these pics, i just have to.
