That takes some serious stupidity is what it takes.
That's the best method they could come up with? Two stinky boxes sent to vacant addys?
Genius, a true mastermind.
I'd like to see the quality of what was being shipped.

the packages were mailed to 2 vacant adresses and the watched the guy pick up the first package, then drive to the next spot and pick up the other. sure he didnt sign any invoice but in court they will argue he obviously knew something wasnt legit..

The stupidity of drug dealers, never ceases to amaze me.

my boy just got 50k siezed going through TSA. Said it was his savings and hes moving to cali----they said prove it haha.

This dude is a moron as well. 50k.

Rent a fucking car and drive there. Not rocket science.

Or he just kept the cash, which is probably what happened.

I bet if you drop by one of the other forums full of kids... you'll find a thread where this person received the advice to use a fake address. Heh. I'd bet dollars to donuts on that one. :D

Stay Safe people... Don't be dumb. :)

I received $35K in cash via fed ex one time. I had no idea there was going to be cash in the envelope. I had asked my partner to fed ex me my half of the cash from a business deal (expecting a check or money order). The cash was legal, but he didn't want to put it through his bank account cause of IRS troubles. If it had been seized I probably never would have been able to get it back.

I can't read the whole article since you have to subscribe to the site in order to do so, but...

How did this guy get arrested? Because he "tried to obtain" 30 pounds of Cannabis mailed to him? Meaning what? That two intercepted packages containing Cannabis was delivered to him, or he tried to pick it up at the post office?

If he was arrested for possession, he must have recuperated the shipment, opened it and neglected to contact the authorities about the content, while he was under surveillance. Somehow, the chain of events must establish him as implicated in the shipment itself.

Otherwise, it means that all you have to do to get even with your boss or your ex is to mail them 30 pounds of an illegal substance, rat on the shipment, then see them get arrested with a $75.000 bail,

Or, a crime syndicate could just use a random address, send it to a desired destination, then 'recuperate' the shipment from the addressee. Kind of like mules going through an airport not knowing what's in their baggage.

I don't know about Bridgeport, but in my neck of the woods you must sign for a shipment in order to be legally 'responsible' for it, and if the shipment invoice states that it contains gum drops (I suppose it didn't say "vacuum sealed Chronic" on the invoice), then you've been duped and can use it in court to proclaim your innocence.

Couldn't have said it better either.

^sounds sketch, was this 50 grand going through an airport?

the limit per person was 10k. i remember carrying 10k in my backpack coming back from the homeland my mom would stuff in in there "shut up and dont tell the customs guy shit!"

lay that shit flat in a leather bound agenda or something and put it in a back pack in the bottom. IDK i would never do that shit, or drive with 50k haha talk ab dumb

The money was never confiscated, the guy you know got took.

It's not hard to transport large amounts of cash. Driving it, is by far the best way. Sealed in in bags, and put in the door panels.

You have no idea, how much US currency is transported that way.

If it were me, I would have bought something fairly liquid, like Gold. 10-15 100 gram bars, stashed all over a car. Can't smell it.

Like I said, it's not rocket science. Hell, send it registered/insured mail 9,900 at a time. All the more reason to think, the worker just got paid.

We used to send money all the time to China, 5K per time, 100 bills divided into the stacks and laid in an auto trader with the stacks one above the next in the center of the trader taped down. We would declare it as a catalog with a value of less then a dollar.
The big key was finding a catalog that was the same width as the bills, you wanted it like that so it was impossible for someone to tell if there was money in there just by feeling it, because they would steal it in the mail in china if they could detect it by touch.

must not have been too legal then? Either that, or you made a terribly bad choice in "legit" business partners...
