i picked what seem to be the most popular here in the US and on ICmag. I haven't smoked a quarter of these cuts but i'm sure heads from california have tried most of them. which are the true keepers that growers from this generation will continue to run. I left off The White because, im not seeing the same hype when it originally came out. weak flavor? i don't see a million OG cuts in the future either probably just 1 or 2.

the word "piff" will always be around even if the shit is no where near the real stuff. it's like "purple haze" or "skunk" - give it a cool name and it will float around forever. people still talk about "mexican" for the early 80s or "gold"

there is a real piff cutting, the one that started the legend, nobody has it except the orginal growers as far as i know, if it had been leaked then a lot more piff would be around. best thing i smoked all year was in NYC. it's only a matter of time before it gets out.

You missed the oldest one,, "Exodus Cheese" ,, already 20+ years old and still growing strong!

Chances are this UK Exodus Cheese clone will still be doing the rounds in 20 years time :canabis:

Hope this helps

yeah i did miss that one. probably more popular in europe. when i went to england and asked around for the cheese you should of seen the blank stares i got, then i learned everybody calls killer weed skunk. must be a name only growers use. i'm pretty sure i never did get to try real exodus cheese.

i see a lot of votes for chemdog d. people really love stinky weed. that won't change. maybe rezdog making his chemdog ibl will decrease the amount of chemdog d because now anybody can get seeds. just like more people are probably growing his sour diesel ibl than the orginal ECSD. just speculating here. also big buddah and his cheese lines. cheese x ssh sounds a lot better to me.

now the Bubba Kush and the Piff haven't really been bred too much and maybe the most sought after of the elite in the future. if a good putrid RKS is ever found that might become en vogue again.

hard to see a 14+ week clone only being hyped by growers online. that may change with new laws and growers trying to produce the very finest vs. max yield for profit.

just speculating here.

Should have included aeric77 Cali-O. It has been around for a long, long time. Out of what you have listed I would take the real deal Trainwreck over the others.

How many of those breed true and have known origins? How many things from 10 years ago are still popular today? In this day and age new is always better than tried and true (even if it isn't). I would bet none will be around, there will just be a few guys saying "man I wish I had some x" just like people wanting RKS today.

How long can a strain be kept as a clone, does anyone know. Surely as its part of a plant that is 20 years old it can only grow for so long without dieing off. Id this not the case with plants?

rorymullan - you can take an old mom and keep making new copies w/ cuts. They can live forever.
