That's why i grow my own... here people like to horde the good stuff and only sell for high prices... got a lot of weed nazis around here

Have you ever heard of FMV(fair market value) or what the market will bear in any local
area.
I KNOW the op's prices are for real, cause I used to live in the NC appalachian area and
most boonie mountain folks there do grow cheaply and sell cheaply.

However, whether he is correct or not, is hardly the big point to be derived from this...
the message from this, from a business standpoint of view is that simply put, an
overabundance of ANY product in a given economic area will induce lower competitive
price ranges.
IE: when mj goes semi-legal or regulated and is being produced in mass quantity across
the nation, and the profit from 'black market mj' drops through the floor, then the
selling price of legally produced mj will be a lot more reasonable due to the competitive
nature of those who sell legally in the market. Agricultural competitiveness has shown
us this to be true time and time again, in that the farmer receives dick for his goods,
while the wholesaler receives 100 times as much, and the retailer gets the gold.

I will sit back and watch the truth of these statements unfold as time and legality of
mj proves this to be true. In fact, should mj ever be totally and completely legalized,
then there would be but a poor and cheap market for the product, most especially so
when any and everybody can grow their own legally.

I'm with Krunchbubble, prices have plummeted due to oversupply, but I think sales have ground to a halt in a lot of places because folks are broke these days. It's also Christmastime, so by the time people pay off their holiday shopping bills and have money to spend on weed again it will be February.

But remember, every August everyone is hunting for weed and nobody has any. Happens every year.

I would think the bottom falling out of the black market would devastate clubs, after all who wants to pay 40-60 an eighth when they can buy an ounce for $100-200?

My goal is to someday grow enough to purposely drop prices. It ticks me off people pay way more than they should.

You my friend apparently have no or very little idea what it takes to grow large scale...and the factors justifying the price for the final product!

You think this is bad? Wait until Big Pharma or a company like Con Agra get involved. At that point I imagine the weed will all be GMO and sold at Walmart.

You know Walmart White Widow is coming @ 30.00 USD a ounce.

A flood of mid outdoor as usual & nooby schwag as 1000's of new licenses would predict, no glut of AAA Primo tho...

I guess this means ppl are upside-down with their grows. Not unusual since so many are also upside-down on their mortgages.

We are in a downward spiraling economy. Prices have a lot of pressure on them now. As more ppl grow this will intensify even more, until pot is LEGALIZED. Then there will be an initial increase in consumption, but it will eventually level off, my guess is about 20% higher than it is now. So I'm saying 20% more ppl than currently use cannabis will start using once it's legal.

Get ready peeps, this is gonna spread some around the country. Rural areas first, metros last. Unless every municipality does what LA just did, limiting the # of dispensaries, prices will drop significantly, and probably early next year, unless the economy recovers.

Of course things are a bit worse ATM cause of the outdoor harvest flooding the market.

Here in Norcal, there's far more supply than any dispensary can handle. They're turning away growers by the dozen. But that doesn't seem to have effected the price that much, as they're trying to hold the line on that (at least for the top quality).

But I bet growers are going to be ready to unload any extra stock they have soon at whatever they can get.

I'm not really the best person to ask as I haven't bought any in awhile, but as far as I know they're taking in top-top quality outdoor organic since that is most in demand locally, probably hurting some indoor growers without top quality. We certainly have an excellent selection right now. One reason why I like livin' here! :)

I dunno, a friend of mine can hardly keep O's in the house at 300. High quality hydro, Top strains, WW/Crystal Haze/Cheeze etc..

QP's will disappear within a few hours at 800/900.

It just depends on where you live.

I'm being told clubs are QUOTING guys primo outdoor crops for 14-1600 a pound, organic indoor for 24-2800 a pound.

The only thing they are actually BUYING is OG Kush, or Purple weed, but nobody is getting much over $3K a pound for anything.

^^^^ Yup, that sounds right. Lotsa kush & purple around. But little to no give on prices at the 1/4 oz level yet (my usual purchase). Still paying $100 for that at my local dispensary.
