Very nice, who needs it to turn purple when it still the bomb. How many days did you take it, and what kind of weight did you get off of 25 plants

Very Nice!!! GrapeApe comes around occasionally(midwest), but goes for $60/eigth or $420 a zip, so needless to say I don't smoke it too often.

Yeah the ape is a hot seller and everyone loves that grape smell. Wow 60 an eighth and 420 a zip haha I wish I could pop it off for that much cause I would be a rich man but it goes for 280 a zip on the west coast. Thanks for all the comments and I'll have a new set up going soon to show off...

Rebel: how long have you been running this setup? have you run any other systems or used any other media? I am interested in your opinion of this system, pros, cons. Have you ever thought of using coco core instead of clay?

DO you have trouble harvesting plant individually? i had a similar set up and had the problem so just cut the stock and removed all of the roots when the last plant was pulled.

OK To start i have been running this room for about a year but have slowly made modifications. I have been using the ebb n flow trays for a couple years now and i have tried coco core and it does not compare to how clean the hydroton stays. I would say coco if u are using benificial bacterias but if not use the hydroton rocks. The pros and cons of this set up, pros to start well this system is very easy to maintain i clean the resevore and fill on sunday then top off thursday then clean and add fresh again sunday so its only about 1 hr of work a week. Another pro of this set up is the veg time and ability to fix a problem within minutes unlike soil which can take days to flush and recover. The veg time is 2 weeks for pretty much 2 ounces per plant if ur running 24 plants on the 4x8 tray and its all high quality bud.. The cons of the tray are simple things to correct, starting with clogging and root rot and the corrective messures for them are a monthly flush of the tray. I jack up the opposite side of the resevore and drain then let the filtered hose add clean water from the high end to do a complete flush. i have a pump in the resevor that sends the dirty draining water outside so now we have clean and unplugged root systems. The root rot issue is solved by the keeping the temp below 80 degs in the room at all times cause it promots the spread of bacterias in warm roots. Harvesting the plants are simple i generally take the tops first which will then leave an exposed canopy of small unfinished buds that people will pick usually but instead they will continue growing and bulking and your yield will increase like crazy and u will be surprised by how fast this takes place. once the plants are down i will pull the cubes with roots coming right up with them and thing to know is never ever ever reuse any media which means hydroton rock and cubes, only the tray and resevore can be reused but im sure u knew that... but i hope i answered ur ?s and hit me up if u need anymore info.... overall if ur looking for taste and colors use coco or soils but if ur looking for the biggest smelliest stickiest buds go with straight hydroton hydro u will not be dissapointed..

surgeon, just wondering if you topped your plants and how tall were they when you flippped them. also did you veg on the same table as you flowered. very nice grow. liked you setup.

Yes I did top the plants and they were about aweek into veg, it all depends on the strain and grow setup so i wait for about 2 - 3in of new growth and then top. I generally flower when the plants are about a foot and a half tall so i am allowed enough distance between the plant and the light. When growing this setup u have to veg in the same tray u flower because the plants need to form a good structure in the rocks for support when the buds are heavy. some people may veg in a diffrent tray but i dont suggest it cause the bigger the roots the bigger the buds.

Awesome grow, description, pics, and updates. Thank you so much for the thread!
I definitely plan on getting there, ATM I am using a 1000 for the first time, and my room is about the size of yours. I guess my goal is 2k and a tray with the 'ton as media.

I've used hydroton with good results in buckets, but never in trays, recently I saw an aquaponics setup like that and the hydroton were doing great as a medium.

I'm guessing you use R/O water and do you do anything for humidity control?
Do you use sulfur etc, do you spray or use any pest control in veg etc?
