im still learning about this, but all you need is a cell. (leaf, root, stem)
i think if you take cells from a certain part you want to use a certain type of hormone.
i dont know anything about the hormones, but i know there are a bunch of different ones (or maybe just a few, some for general propagation and some that they market as "plant specific" i dont know if they are different)
thats about all i know on the subject. lol

I got a tour of a tissue culture lab about 18 years ago. 95% of dope growers can forget it because you need super duper hygiene. You need true lab conditions, hairnets, stepping in sanitizer etc. They gave us a free plant in a tiny test tube. Mine was a honeycomb ginger and it grew really huge and well. I met the lady again just recently and she's pretty cool. I said I would go apply for a job there but never did. That is all I know about tissue culture

An oldtimer just told me about someone doing tissue culture OG shoots in jars (among many other strains).. 10-20 shoots per jar, kept in fridge. Said they looked like little bamboo shoots. I'm told it's already being used by some no-nonsense norcal groups. Was told they might be made available to the public soon via a prop 215 business. i hope to see some samples.

Ya I saw that article.. Ive been thinking about trying it out.. I use to grow mushies all the time.. I got into selecting my own strains and isolating them over and over on pda on petri dishes in my glovebox.. I also did tissue sample clones from mushies and then further isolate them on pda.. i dont see why i could do this.. interesting..

lol. ya. i grew probably over 50 different strains.. penis envy, albino pe, pe uncut, wikidzon, my strain was called relentezuelan, cambodia, z+, ereal, golden teacher, b+, f+, twisted coast, etc.etc.etc.
ya it was a fun time, but im over that..

Not that you'll see me trying this anytime soon but this thread did give me a little more confidence, just in that I may have picked up a few useful skills throughout past myco endeavors, that I can apply to MJ... (More than I had first thought, though I did notice making a 'tropic air' is similar to a bubble cloner.) ...Glove boxes, sterility, I can see all that being useful, but I never thought that having done a TC's would ever come in handy. At least a few things will seem familiar, should I ever try an mj TC.
