If they are not the same "breed" then why are some duel registered?

Whats a dog registered with both kennel clubs? Not really a APBT and not really an Amstaff? Or an AmstAPBT?

just sayin.

really? why do some vending machines sell coke and pepsi.

they are not the same breed....One doesnt like APBT, so they let you CALL it something else is all.

good vibes

I guess because people like to drink them? hahahaha

Have you been to a vending machine and purchased a Pepcokesi? Or a Cokepsi?

How can there be duel registered dogs then if they are not the same? If your dog is duel registered, you can show it as an APBT at a UKC show, and as an Amstaff at a AKC show? Same dog, but different genetics?

Or do you consider the duel registered dog a whole new breed? Because of the mixing of different gene's? Like these mutant pocket dogs people are breeding.

I've owned both, and only difference I have ever noticed was size. Amstaff's are more compact.

now back to my Blueberry X AK47 :joint:

There are two different breed standards....that still doesnt explain it.

It sucks that most threads on the interweb about ABPT's tend to end up with people arguing with each other.

Brother and sister, 6 months apart. The male is just over 2 years old.

LOL u guys are killin me about the difference, isnt it true ive always heard a staffy is to a pit what a lab is to a golden? Either way its all about registration and bs, segregation if you will. I still prefer the true game ones that are a little taller, more of a squared jaw not the diamond face i call it with the massive mouth thats used for licking and kisses.. I know down south esp deep down they have some SERIOUS game pits whiskey, the boar hunting ones are all muscle and then just the tightest little blockheads ever.. Now thats a true game dog, those bad boys can take down 900 lb wild boards and chit.. more pics of the pups to come they dont seem to like taking pictures cause they wont ever stay still

You've got it backwards m8. On average, Amstaff's are slightly larger than APBT's.

"Game" had NOTHING to do with size or looks. BUT, the type of dog or "look" that you describe is actually the opposite of what an old school "true gamebred" APBT generally looked like.

The truth is, "Gamebred" is probably one of the most overused, misunderstood sales tactic piece of propaganda bs used in today's new age "pitbull" fad market. Very few people breed "gamebred" APBT's these days, regardless of what they might advertise.

I need to stay out of these threads, I get worked up and probably end up pissing people off unintentionally. I hope I don't come off as an asshole, although I fear I probably do.

"Gameness" is a trait. It seems silly to say that an American Pitbull Terrier that hasn't been bred for a specific trait is no longer an American Pitbull Terrier.

It cracks me up to see how many armchair breed experts there are in the world. They read a couple articles and take them as truth just because they sound good. I agree with this post.

THanks bredren. I give 2 and a hlaf shits about people telling me my dog aint game. I have seen the last 6 gen of his family. Gator bloodline is GAME. All his family are hog dogs...He isnt, but I put him though Shutzhund for an outlet since I wasnt hunting with him. His dad and grandpa are both catchers to, they are the ones that go in for the snout grab on the boar, not circle around it.
O has some GORGEOUS dogs, and I plan on coming up all the way to CT on a road trip with my wife and kid and dogs, we love road trips...maybe I can bring Manson by, stud him to a few of yalls bitches up north:)

some new pics of my Manson and his kids...the last one with the pup in my feet is my keep of the litter. The red 50lb girl running around with em is the Colby red mom. Manson is 74-82lbs

Your pup, OMG, she's PRETTY! I love that coloring!

I have to say, it's hilarious seeing people give their "quality" armchair opinions, when 90% don't know SHIT about breeding/ gameness, and so on. I'm just sitting here, higher than a kite on honey oil, becoming highly amused. :biglaugh:

What does it mean when a dog is "Game"? The term "game" is a fighting term and only applies and can only ever apply to a dog that has been proven to be "Game" after it has been tested in a live situation. Just because his pappa or mamma was "Game" doesn't mean the puppy will be game.

First of all "Game" does not mean "Vicious".

A dog is either Game or Kurr in my book. A truly "Game" dog is a dog that fears nothing. A dog that knows only one speed and that is full blast all the time. A dog that puts it's heart into everything it does and will take on any challenge without a moments hesitation. A truly fearless beast that would scratch even if it were nearly dead.

Back in the days when my gramps was runnin moonshine and fighting dogs he bread what was only "Game" dogs and the rest were put down before somebody bred them and re-produced a less than desirable trait in an otherwise hardend bloodline.

The fact is, you cannot know if a dog is truly "Game" until he/she has been tested in the pit. The dog will either fight hard or kurr and if it kurrs at all, even for a split second it is NOT "Game" and is only worthy to be put down in the eyes of any self respecting Dogfighter.

Today there are very few truly game dogs out there. No truly devoted Dogfighter would ever just let his bloodline be bought or sold on the open market. In order to get the best of the best you have to know someone and have a reputation of good standing. The dogfighting world is a very tight knit group of people and the paranoia runs very deep in the dogfighting community. If you paid top dollar for a dog that is supposedly "Game Bred" and the dreeder couldn't back up his claims with point standings in the American Gamedog Journal from both the sire and the bitch then you got ripped the fuck off.

And I will say this as the owner of a Blue Pitbull. These "Bully Breed" dogs out here wouldn't last 10 seconds in a pit with a truly game dog and 90% of the people who own these supposedly game bred dogs couldn't handle owning a truly Game Pitbull.

I love my laid back pussy of a pitbull and wouldn't trade him for the world but I do not try to deceive myself with some false sense of truth by thinking I own a true pitbull.

My dog Hacksaw would run headfirst into a badger den and pull out a badger by the head. He never blinked at an injury or had a thought of quiting. He never backed off or hesitated in his adjenda to kill that badger. Thats Game. He was a Carver/Tudor outcross for those of you who know.

I gurantee you one thing... This Dog is as "Game" as they come... Just look at the muscle structure on this dog. This dog is in peak physical condition.
