I recently wrote to the contact email address on Mr Cherniaks website to inquire about a new copy of the 2nd book in normal soft-cover version (they also have hard cover copies). When i originally purchased it it was £20 in about 1990.

I almost spat my tea out when i got a reply quoting me $395 !!! What a complete rip off. Yea they are great books, especially the 1st, but come on, that's like £200 for something that should be £30.

There are other places to get these books though at the right price. In the uk grow-shops and seed company's often keep a stock from what i've seen as well as quite a few on-line book stores.

No need to lose your tea or lunch

These books were published long ago ... there are virtually no " first edition " copies available ... what was bought - people love and hold on to .. they look at these books often ... show them to their friends .. and are passed up thru generations

What little is available for sale - are few .. first editions ... collectibles .. from private sellers ... and expensive

Fact is - without the re-prints we are about to do ... its very, very difficult to find these books ... especially - all 3 ... and ... if you can find any at all .. it will be expensive - unless you get very lucky

For "The Great Book of Hash" - three books were published - Book I, Book II, and Book III

First editions of Book I and II are pretty much gone ... LC may have a few lying around ... but they are quite expensive .. or check online resellers of books/rare books - and see for yourself

Book III is around in very limited quantities .. hardcover only ... cost - forgive me for guessing .. I want to say US $120 or so

The books are in great demand

Thus the re-prints

The new edition of TGBOH Book I - should cost approx US $60

We are re-printing ... Book I ... Launch October 24, 2009 ... and soon after we will re-print Book II ... then Book III

LC will not stop there - he is working on quite a few fun and interesting canna related books and products ... that will be available in the future

This books are the best Hashish info published ever, masterpiece so far.

I have my own Book 1, im in love with it. And waiting for the rest.

Big up for the project.

The launch is scheduled for October 24, 2009

As we get closer to the launch and thru it - I will try to provide or direct to a list

From day 1 - the re-print of Laurence Cherniaks " TGBOH " book I has been a dedication of sorts to Jack Herer

I have been talking to the Canna Community about this for years

Jacks recent bout with bad heath problems - makes us .. even more sensitive to that

One of Jack's longtime and great friends is Laurence Cherniak .. Laurence and Jack love each other ... are great friends for over 40 years ... and have been at the forefront in the canna wars all along

When Laurence first heard, and read the false story and rumors about Jack - naturally it really upset him. Then the truth came out, and Laurence decided to write a letter, share his thoughts and share a story or two about his friendship with Jack

Laurence has been working for several years on the re-print of his (amazing book) called " The Great Book of Hash" Book I

Laurence decided long ago .. to make this a dedication to Jack, and we have been working on this for years

Jacks smiling face will be prominently featured throughout the book, and, like all of you - we look forward to Jack's full and complete recovery

The launch of this re-print is October 24, 2009 - so close in time ... We are so looking forward to Jacks full and complete recovery - and cant wait to show him the book - as we all know he will love it and be so pleased

More so - nothing I would love more than to see Jack back to great health, strong and happy - sitting with Laurence ... having lots of laughs .. and seeing them both sign books

We have been wating for years with paid advertisment, I honestly do not think LC will publish it ever??

I guess we will have to wait another 12 days to see if he does, or if he pushes it back another year.....

But for everyone else - no .. there has been a delay ... part of it has to do with the passing of a family member - which did set us back .. and the rest was to make a better plan for the launch

The "white shit" is mold. I remember Temple Balls from Nepal and Finger bundles that had that mold growing through some of them, bad news, moisture in hash. The non-moldy ones were heaven though.
I've had that 1st edition since it came out, beautiful, hope to see more from LC

The book realease did not happen, and will not happen. It is now being pushed ahead again, to the end of April.....

high aqua lab!!!

was looking forward so many times to the re release... i got the #2 book and it's a piece of HISTORY which should not get lost... i hope the plans for the repress of #1 and #3 are still "alive"... would be a GREAT shame to loose those books... or how about a pdf/digital release??? would be much cheaper and easier... and would alow even more people to enjoy those fine books, you know what i mean... A STONER IS ALWAYS SAVING MONEY ON THE WRONG thingz...

Hang in there

LC is just finishing up the last of his work on TGBOH Book I ... then to the printer to create 50,000 copies in 4 different languages

The book should be available by April 2010

After the re-print of TGBOH Book I ... LC will re-print Book II .. and then Book III

PDF is an interesting idea ... but not currently in the works
