anyone know anything about platinum og ? i know its dank.. but am afraid the yield is to low ? .. any info would be great..

CC said the purple stems will taste more like clear/water, the green ones would taste more starchy/dry itchy on your tongue...

I remember him reading about the well fed part, but i dont know. OGK gets the purple stems quite easily (maybe cause its a kinda finicky strain). Once they get the purple stems, they usually wont go back to green (in the parts that were already purple).. New growth can go back to green, but if the purple got that dark red purple color, then no way.. If its slightly purple, it can go back to green.

Ive had ogs really purple, and tried increading the food, and didnt notice the stems green up anymore... Ive had other times where i flushed for a few weeks just plain RO water, and all the stems went super light/lime bright green. So its hard to say if its them being well fed or not.. Its definitely nutrient/ph related, i just dont know if its necessarily them being well fed, as much as just being properly fed.
And i would agree with OHGEE, that certain strains get purple stems more easily/ almost naturally. Especially in flowering. I know my purple joy gets 100% purple, stems buds leaves everything.

I think there are a couple platinum og's floating around. One is said to be a OGK x AFGHANI.
My friend is flowering a plat. og right now, and it appears to be much more stout/ less stretchy than your typical ogk. Looks like its gonna yield more large buds rather than smaller golfballs. Ill have to check it out soon, and see how its progressing, last i saw it was only around 3weeks flowering, and that was like 2 weeks ago.
I would think shes better yielding than other ogs

white collar...no its not rooting compounds..its a systemic downey mildew..leaves are affected later..drap olive discoloration..turning crispy brown on the very edges..

new growth can be stunted..side curling of leaves..any way..

should know something soon about the platinum og as a new friend has it in flower and veg right now, i hooked him w/ some of the cuts i have so he's says he's going to make me cuts of that and a few others. i'll be stoked either way if it has the og flavor i know and love as i have no og (OHGEE).

as for the red stem thing idk never seen anyone that has the cherry ak cut i have EVER get the stem green maybe APE could chime in...

Yeah, Jeff i couldn't say for certain about the AK-47 (cherry pheno) flushed the fook out of her hoping to capture that sweet cherry taste to match the smell over three weeks straight Glaicer RO no change in stem coloration. just wondering maybe the one who first gave the cut to APE knows (the person who cracked the bean)?)

New Kids

Wanted to introduce some new kids on the block including a few that were crossed right here in San Diego County. The front row is a Gods Gift x AK48 cross that my neighbor made and they are already stinkers at two weeks. Back row are Cinderella 99 x Grapefruit from Wally Duck.
Normally dont do seeds but Ive been wanting to pop these C99 for some time and the GGxAK cross was tempting enough to convince me.

I have Nebu's cherry AK 47 cut. I would not grow it out again. It is a nice looking plant,with a nice smell. My brother told me it was like smoking old mendo. Well it is nothing like that. I have some I am looking to give away as I do not want to trash it. It purples up the petioles like a def. but unless you have cool nite temps thats about it. Mine I got from Wick. I noticed ape has the dutch bubba ssh cut(I thought it to be nowhere near the org.). I crossed some of that up for a mex project. Nice smelling bud,and structure just needs a little bit more power. JK

I have an old friends seeds and there is a pheno in it I am looking for. Here are some seeds I grew out in an effort to find it. One smells like pine and white widow. It has an above average calyx to leaf ratio.Thats the one in the front. The one behind it has barely any smell, just an undercurrent of dankness. Kind of like Master Kush in the smell dept. I call it the Krinkle pheno cause of the leaves.
