Hazeolope on the Horizon

L

LolaGal

I was poking around at the Bay, here's all the info I found on them.

"chocolope has taken the world by storm after dna dropped it in amsterdam
the amsterdam cut is an 8 week dream strain
the taste is fruity/melony taste with a tad of fuel
most early varieties are never dank with this being an eception
i won 1st place at the icmag 420 growers cup with this cuting calling it fruity skunk
i then crossed this winning cut with somas's g13haze male
expect big yielding tasty plants with a flowering range of 8-11 weeks
medium to strong potency depending on pheno
this can be a real good cash cropper with the early phenos and greast flavour"

OK, I guess I could ask OJD, but maybe he will drop by. Is this the description for the Hazelope strain? Or is Chocolope different? This is the only thing I could find for sale on the bay that matched the description.

:biglaugh: Just trying to find out what we are growing! :D

Mine are in the mail somewhere....... don't expect them till next week.

Anyways, somebody straighten me out on this strain please....

Here is the info I found on Chocolope, via doc's site:

Type: 100% Sativa Specifics: O.G. Chocolate Thai X Cannalopehaze Indoor Flowering time: 10-12 weeks Indoor Yield: 400/500 Price: £65.00 This plant grows BIG!!! If space issues are a problem might want to try another strain. This sativa dominate plant will take over. It is very fruity then chocolate in taste. Enjoy the variety.

A few notes for today. When I checked on the seedlings this morning, they all seemed to have sprouted out of the soil through direct germination just fine. There was only one exception, in which case, one of the seedlings have to have it's inner membrane manually removed, in order to expose the cotyledons. This is a pretty good ratio, as in my experience, I have had to help a fair share of seeds remove the inner membrane, so that they would not die prematurely. :joint:

How's it going Seis bro?
By reading that description it sounds like it might stretch pretty high. How tall do you let your sativa's get before throwing them into flower?

I am thinking that I should be flowering earlier. I have been vegging up to 8 weeks and sometimes they get a little out of control lol. I have a SSSDH X Kali Mist that I think I might flip at 30 days to see if they will stay at 5 feet or under.

Can't wait to see how this one turns out for you.

Day 1 veg

Day 1 veg

Oregon_guy- Hey dude, its going good. I think I will watch and see how fast the growth is over the next 2-3 weeks, and go from there, as far as when I will end up flipping them to flower. Generally, for sativas, I try to flower them at around 1.5ft, so they finish in under 4-4.5ft tall. Take care man:joint:

Well today all the hazeolope's have broken the surface, and have established their first set of real leaves after the cotyledons. So, I will go ahead and count this as the first day of veg. They all seem to be doing well, though a bit of stretch from the cramped conditions in the veg chamber at the moment. Luckily this will be cleared up in a few days when I am able to throw my bubba and grom into flower. :joint:

This is at the same stage I start the veg count as well Seis. I always seem to have the same problem of starting too many veggies at the same time and do not have enough good light for the first couple of weeks until I can throw something into flower. I have been proping them up with little mini stakes and after they get under good light and have a slight breeze on them, they are fine. I am almost starting to think it ends up better because the bottom leafs are a couple of inches up from the soil.

Got a small update, last night I transplanted all 11 of the hazeolopes from their party cups into 1/2gal pots of Bio Canna Terra Plus. I decided to try this medium over the blackgold cocoblend that I was using mainly for two reasons. The first being that it have heard pretty good things across the board about it, and the second being that it does not contain perlite, but still maintains very nice aeration.

I also gave them a dose of H&G Roots Excelurator to help get the root structure taking off. I just recently started to use this product, and so far it is very nice. I found that I only needed to use it a few times to really see the effect. It's funny because after using it on my grom and bubba, there was a slight 2 day top-growth delay, then Boom!, just explosive top-growth, which really helped with the slow vegging bubba.

I didn't take any pics last night, when I transplanted, because I was too tired. But, I will go ahead and get some shots for you guys tonight. Till then, take care:joint:

dan_1- your right, it is definitely a cool cross. Thanks for dropping by dude:joint:

Well, I got some pics of the little ones. Please excuse the underfed lower foliage, they got left in the party cups a bit longer than they should have.

Day 1 Flower

Day 1 Flower

Thanks a lot Jamie!:joint: You can bet I will be having tons of fun with this grow. Your right with ojd, he is definitely legit:respect: If I had the money, I would grab some of his sssdh off the boo.

---------------------

Well do to some major space restrictions in the flower tent at the moment, I had to throw all of the hazeolopes over into the flower tent today, or else I would risk seriously over growing the tent:yoinks: I would have wished to been able to veg these out a fair bit longer, but its ok, this way I will be able to see how they perform with only 17 days veg time, and being flowered in 1/2 gal buckets. Though I may do a late transplant into 1gallons, I am still not sure though. The average height of the plants going into flower is 8-10" tall.

a lot of folks will say that a late transplant "after" flipping wont make much difference, but for sure with haze that stretches a lot, it really can and does. I've seen it myself, the root mass can continue to grow for the entire "stretch cycle" and can have a huge overall impact on the final yield/size of the plant... hope that's in any way useful :)

edit - I give em a dose of rhizo for the shock while I'm at it ;)

Sounds good Jamie, I will probably go ahead and get them into 1Gallons then, and give them a dose of H&G Roots Excelurator to help get the root mass going. Thanks for the info bro, take care.
