thanks for the insight, I've been reading the hempy thread and it seems like an awsome soundless alternative (need to be quiet I have a roommate not too keep on the herb but doesnt mind me smoking or even him smoking every now and again). Will using peat pellets for my cloning effect using this technique to grow, I only use peat for cloning because its the only way I've had 100% of my clones take, when I've used rockwool in the past I've had less than 50% of cuttings take and I just tried the hempy technique for cloning to try it out and had 0 out of 4 clones take after 2 weeks.( this may have been due to my absence from the grow location for about a week and the caretaker at the house didn't mist the clones regulalry like I informed him of) my concern with using peat to root them and putting it in a hempy grow would be mold or fungus growth.

Can you rinse the peat off before transplanting? I don't think it would hurt anything but it could mess with the ph. I really don't know.

There shouldn't be a problem if you use peat pellets. Actually the hempy buckets might be right up your alley. I have never had any personal experience with them, they seem to be a good silent alternative to a DWC system. What is the yield like on them? Anyone know?

Whats a good nute mix that I can get at a lowes or home depo and use the hempy technique

Check their little organic section and see what they have as far as liquid ferts. I got some seaweed stuff there but that was pretty much it when it came to organic liquids. I personally use Botanicare Pro Blend Original Grow and Bloom. I have used FF nutes and prefer the Botanicare to their lineup.

Well I'm getting the start up supplys tomrrow and setting up the first stage. For the hempy technique i looked allover and couldnt quite find a nailed down formula for growing I need things I can find at a small garden center lowes and homedepo. For soil mixes what are my options from those stores. Many thanks

Anyone try these new cold cathode cfls for growing, I just found some at home depo and according to google they operate at about 77f, are they any good for growing

Will regular lime work just as good as dolomite lime or close since this is the only thing i've been able to find, won't have a ph meter for awhile into my grow, my water has perfect ph and no 0 ppms so I don't have to worry about the water throwing my ph off, Just trying to get it to where my ph won't be something to worry about throughout the grow.

MG organic(finally found some) 1cf
20% perlite
1 tablespoon blood meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
2 tablespoons bone meal per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
1-tablespoon kelp meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix or Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract as directed
Liquid seaweed sprayed on the plants and feed 1/3 strenght in water

And on the dialy nutes I'm taking a page from Drbudgreenjeans and going to use
4-droppers full of Schultz 10-15-10 ,1 Tbsp. Fish Emultion (or liquid seaweed , still looking for this), and 4 drops SuperThrive per Gallon of water everytime I water

Decided against the hempy buckets for now since I can only get the nutes at the hydro shop and altogether they would cost me 200 for the nutes I need they would last me a long time but dont have the money to invest in that, its my entire budget for the start up of the grow.

What do ya'll think, I'm trying to get all my stuff together to get this going by monday

I saw a thread on hear about asking the nute companys for some samples. This would be great for micro growers because a sample can go a long way. Just thought I would throw that out there. Hit up a couple nute businesses and see what happens.

Got it up and running, just need to figure out the fans, with two bulbs 26w in each of the 4 chambers without vents or anything temps stay at about 87-90. Any seggestions on quiet fans, I have 4 plants right now

Look into computer fans. They make 120v AC powered computer fans. Work great and are relatively quiet. My boy grows in a rubbermaid bin in his closet at his moms house and she doesn't even know. He uses computer fan to vent the box. Hope this helps. How about dropping some pics on us. Keep it dank! :joint:

I'll drop some pics on here tonight, just found a small 1x1 fan that im going to use to vent between the chambers. The strains I have are 3 unknow purples and one pineapple. Think 105 -150 should be enough for the flowering chambers, i figured 2 are perpetual and ther other one is a scrog and the last is a veg chamber. Think one computer fan will be enough to draw all the air out into a carbon filter

Did my first run last night , couldnt load the pictures I have no idea how to use my new phone. Temps high was maybe 90 were good with 3 lights a 5w a 26w and a coated 13w soo it wasnt that bad.No fans in there either, My cab needs allot of finishing touches its pretty tough to get in there and do it since this is a solo job and Im too big to position my self to use two hands and my back keeps me from working for a long period of time but Ill borrow a camera from a friend I do think this is pretty impressive

Take your time bro. Don't put yourself in pain, it's not worth it. Whenever you get them up is whenever you get them up. :) As far as the fan, you are probably going to want to go with something bigger like a 3x3. It will save you from having to upgrade to it eventually. :joint:

Good news found some cfl daylight 100w for 1.50 a peice talk about a deal, my friend ropped off 6 clippings today so i could clone his plants. 1 fem ice from g13 labs, one fem white widdow, 2 medicine mans and the other two I don't know what they are, I put them in pete pellets in a small humidity dome( its not staying too humid for some reason). Used root hormone the powdered stuff and the are in about 90 degree heat till i can get a good vent fan. An seggestions on how to get a 100% clone, putting a heating pad in there tonight but need a few more pointers, Id really like to have the ice and ww in my garden. Sorry no Pictures yet, but my sister has lent me her camera so we will have some soon.

Sadly my pinapple which has been dying for 2 weeks, first the stem broke so I piled dirt around it. it grew more leaves and is getitng bigger but today the tips were yellow and its spreading through the leaf. its not nitrogen since I put a good amount of blood mean and bone meal in the soil. So any thoughts as to what it could be?

Got some liquid seaweed today and some miricle grow seed starting mix or whatever its called. I think all 6 of my clones took. I know one for sure did since some roots were visible. I used 1 drop of superthrive in about a quart and kept about 1/4 inch of water in my container which was a slightly trimmed salad box( aint recycling great). They were turning yellowish but most seemed pretty grounded in the peat so I didn't make the mistake of tuggin on them to see if they rooted...just hopeing on this one. Pics comming up
One of my plants has something wrong with it, my second youngest plant but my biggest its from some really good regular that was purple. Look at the pics below
