Hey, this is great! Colorado is having its first annual Caregivers Cup today; and is being covered by High Times for inclusion in an upcoming issue. It's modeled after the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam as caregivers are asked to bring in a sample and legal patients attending the event will be judging all the samples using an array of vaporizers. There will be trophies for various med qualities and a cup shall be awarded to the best buds; and many pictures will be featured in High Times in a few months. I know I'll see a bunch of you there, so please share your experiences here!

I'm not sure about photography rules at the event, but I'll be bringing my lil point-n-shoot in hopes of covering this event for the community here. Gonna be FUN!!!!

So what is the countdown until DEA reads this and is pissed off enough to come in and raid.

I really have a hard time understand why ANYONE works with high times. they are a bunch of stupid pricks who dont give a fuck about mj reform. just as long as they can fill their fucking rag with a few more pictures and lame ass stories of shit that happends EVERY FUCKING DAY.

i quit reading that thing 7 years ago because its the same fucking shit recycled over and fucking over. what makes that inresting?? :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

To me this is all about hangin out and watchin some of the avenues the mmj scene takes. I couldn't care less about High Times other than the fact them covering this weekend's events here is going to affect the mmj scene in Colorado, good or bad.

Everybody talking about and supporting (by participating) in these events is keeping it going in a bad way.

I'll just keep to the few I know, trust and help that are doing this for the RIGHT reasons,

IMO BAD, but it's happening and nothing is stopping it from happening (so far).

I just got back from this place and it was a joke. There was no vaping whatsoever unless you bought some from one of three different dispensaries that were selling their buds. I thought there wasn't gonna be distribution??!!! Unless you pay the $75 fee to rent a table, that is. All in all lots of folks came with jars full of this and that. The High Times dude was feverishly snapping photos the whole time without pause and the given this event was so last minute, they were so disorganized they opened their doors closer to 5:30 than 4 while everyone waited outside. About 150 people showed up while I was there and many seemed disappointed and felt jipped when they got to the end of the 'vaporizing' line only to find price tags on jars. I'd like to hear from someone who actually got a chance to judge because I wonder if it'll even happen.

About normal for TT's events. Now figure how much they made $$$ wise in entry fees and even if they never sold any meds, all the cash was legal. This has been happening more and more because everyone thinks that these events are going to be the bomb. They always BLOWUP!!

He's(they are) banking and everyone that showed up is bummed.

Oh well, try again next time see if it's better, YEA RIGHT.

I wasn't ready this year, but I will enter one of my cindy crosses next year. I have a cindy, hashberry cross that is my version of a killer queen, but it is far from being ready for competition. I'm working on a cross of my cindy mom with rezdog's chemdog and another cross with with djshort's f13.

Sounds good, but I am a new breeder, no matter what my wife says.

And after reading the posts in this thread, I think Colorado needs to man up a little and give up this constant background whine.

It's getting old. Get Over It and start to make it better.

We have legal weed for God's sake. It's not perfect, but neither are your mother's breasts... and it's time to let them go.

as soon as we hear about some experiences of the 'judging' at this event, i would like to take this thread out back and shoot it eighteen times.

Glad I didn't waste my time, feel bad for ya'll. Perhaps one day there will be a good harvest cup around here. I hear it's getting more and more difficult in Amsterdam for foreigners to medicate, perhaps a move of the cup to the land of the free, home of the brave will one day be in order.
Good vibes, FM

Disappointment...

Disappointment...

I drove a hour from Highlands Ranch to get there at 4:00. We waited in line till 4:50 to get inside and at the door my friend who is only 20 was not allowed in because they decided at the last minute that it would be a 21 and up event. I was told it had something to do with the Oriental Theater being under new management. I had a look around real quick and left as I didn't want to leave my friend outside waiting. I wish there was better info on this event. How do you guys here about these things? I just saw it on the forum here and decided to go. Is there a website that will tell me about other local events like this?

It was shocking to see the medical boundaries be pushed recklessly like that. it turned out to be a contest between a handful of dispensaires and growers of which photos turned out best. No one is updating this thread as to the actual judging by those who paid $20 for an 'all access' pass
