First PC grow.

This is my first PC grow, not my first time growing however.
I'm not having good luck with the dry climate. Not to mention there isn't any areas to plant around here. So I'm taking my weak plants out and going to see if I can get them to stay alive at least in my indoor PC grow. The tower has 3000k CFL's in it as of now. There isn't much to this because this is my first time and I'm very open to suggestions.

Hey Minion. Nice case so far. Couple questions for ya...

I'm assuming you're talking lumens here, yes? Haha! 3,000 CFLs in a computer case... fuckin way of the future, man! Seriously though, how many actual bulbs are in there, and what are their wattages?

What are you growin? In what? Soil? Fill us in! I want to see it!

Two 13 Watt, 825 Lumen. Using soil that has the black stuff w/ the white round things in it. Using one plant that wasn't going to make it from my crops.

...:wallbash:
Did it come in a bag? Does the bag have words written on it? Haha, well I wish you the best! :D Like Dr. Bud says, you can grow in a shoebox if you really wanted!

Ya it came in a bag, but the bag is long gone and I had this poured in a bucket. It's got real soil mixed with it and it's been sitting outside. Which explains the insects.

Eek, insects?? I don't know, man. I'll be honest, None of this is sounding very good... I wouldn't risk bringing in a plant with insects and risk contaminating your whole grow area that's been made to save it, ya know? Why not get some new seeds or a clone and start fresh in your new area?

Agreed. Sounds like your only asking for trouble. Start fresh. Either way good luck. Peace

Well the plant doesn't have much hope really at all, contamination isn't a issue for this plant, I'm not sure it's gonna make it either way. So I'm going to basically see if I can keep it alive. Kind of more like a test. If I do new seeds I'm gonna use new soil too.

All the more reason to NOT put it in your new grow area. The plant isn't what we are worried about, it's the grow area itself that will face the greatest risk of contamination.

Get rid of that old terror and get yourself something fresh. You're probably going to regret it if you don't. Unless you don't MIND risking your new set up. You've got to experiment, but I'm not sure this is the best way to do it, in your situation.

Ah I understand now. I'm going to do that then. Just get some new soil in a bag and just start one seed at a time. I should have plenty of bag seeds :joint:

Hi dude it looks very sleek and professional so far. Some things that spring to mind: Get some flat white paint all inside the grow area. Do you have fans yet? You will need at least one I'd say.

Do you have a thermometer or remote temp sensor or something you can read temps with? Pretty much a necessity. Also, be sure to shield the temp sensor from direct light with some white paper or similar, or you may get false readings.

Request: More pics please :yeahthats

Yes, the inside will get coated with white paint. Consider that done.

For the fans, I'm might try and work a PC fan in it. So far I'm just gonna leave the back end open as it is now until I get the fans figured out.

Temp sensor I need to do even more home work on to figure out how to get something to work easy.

I am going to get more pictures up very soon.

Thermometer: $2 at Home Depot.

Soil is important, because once you put it in, you're 99% screwed for transplanting it. lol.

Pictures would be sweet. Though, why bother using a PC if it isn't for stealth? :joint:

Maybe growing it in an open area for vegging would be a better idea? that way you only need one fan to start with, and you can grow it on your bedside table.

$2? Home Depot here I come. I'm still learning.

It's stealthy, it's surrounded by half a dozen other computers. I live in a area where a land-lord busting in your apartment isn't uncommon.

It's pretty crappy. The guy doesn't do it to be a prick, he just doesn't know any better. Like the last time he was in here, it was just to replace my perfectly working AC.

It made no sense because I run it all summer and my energy bill only goes about a few dollars, so the unit is plenty efficient. But he installed a newer unit w/ remote anyways. oh well. Rent's just in the high 200$ range so I'm not moving out anytime soon.

back on track. I've made some modifications but I'm yet to paint the insides white, so once I get that done I'll snap some more pictures of the PC unit and the new soil. I only plan on doing one plant at a time, max. Only growing for myself and the occasional female companion.

Got painted white. Here's the soil. I hope this works, I'm finally seeing some good signs from my out door plants.

Looks like you are off to a good start.

You may consider doing a sea of green (multiple plants) instead of just one at a time. The reason for this is it is easier, will yield more, allows you to run multiple strains, and it takes less time! If I was you, I would pack that case with as many 16oz cups as I could fit.

Well it's a good idea. My thinking was to do one at a time in case something goes wrong, but I'm re-thinking it now.
